France is always against India
by Dipak Bose on Oct 23, 2007 05:30 PM  Permalink

When Russians left China in 1960, French and Germans helped China to develop nuclear weapons.
France has always supported Pakistan against India ( Don't forget 1971 ).
If France needs to wait for IAEA, that means Man Mohan has cheated us. IAEA wants to put India in the same box as non-nuclear weapons countries. In that case after the DEAL, India will be allowed to have enrichment plant, Reprocessing plants and no nuclear weapons.
That is exctly what USA wants from Man Mohan.

French Vs Nuclear
by raja sunder on Oct 22, 2007 05:11 AM  Permalink

It is clear from French Stand point that Nuclear Deal is not for India, It is for USA. Forget about the left over Left parties. Why should the French has to wait for USA-INDIA treaty. Did Palistan wait for French, Did Israel wait for the French. When it comes to White ruled countries they stick together. Their white power is USA,Briton,France, Germany, Australia and Newzealand. When they stick together others has to obey otherwise they bomb and all hell loose break. But when it comes to other non-white countries they kill each other like cat and dogs. For me they can go to hell with their Nuclear deal, we came upto this level without the help of this hypocrats. When we stand firm together they will come crawling to us as Nuclear deal is s big money for them. Up to that time stand united. But as long as this Dish Washer from Italy want to have a free feast in India, I wonder what will happen?.She will take India to the cleaners. Wake up my country men and women, wake up.

If we can pull up energy policy without nuclear fuel
by D S on Oct 21, 2007 10:32 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Nobody wants to write an energy policy without Nuclear fuel!!! A 100 billion dollar of nuclear reactors versus investment of 100 billion dollars of Solar Farms, Wind Farms, Tidal energy will go a long long way!!! But the politicians are geared up to what Super powers want of them.

If India comes with Nuclear independent Energy policy(solar, Wind, geothermal, tidal, etc.) like Brazil did using it's huge Sugar-Cane waste. The nations who want to sell their nuclear reactors & fuel will STILL come back to sell their stuff with more ruckus-buckus. They won't go away from Nuclear commerce/money.

India has 6.5 times the population of Brazil and less than 40% of the land. We dont even grow enough food to feed out people, there is no way we can use our sugarcane production to produce enough alcohol to substitute petrol.

The pollution caused by nuclear reactors is lethal, as it throws out radioactive waste and can cause an epidemic of Cancer and such disasters. It is wiser for India to have greener and environment friendly energy sources. Let us keep the great tradition of Gandhiji, the path of Ahimsa (non-violence) and non-alignment movement and succeed as the world's best democracy.

"Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has offered himself for direct election only once: In 1999, when he was the Congress candidate for South Delhi.

In normal circumstances, Manmohan should have won. South Delhi had a significant number of middle and upper-middle class voters who were direct beneficiaries of the economic liberalisation he initiated in 1991. Many of them, particularly the beautiful people, came out openly in his support. The jhuggi clusters were, in any case, Congress strongholds. Additionally, the constituency had a generous proportion of Sikh voters who should have been glad to see one of their own in the Lok Sabha.

Then something unexpected happened in the final days of the campaign. At one of those dreary Press conferences every candidate hosts, Manmohan was asked a routine question about the Congress involvement in the 1984 riots that led to the killing of more than 1,000 Sikhs in the four days after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. He calmly replied that the RSS was responsible for the riots.

According to local politicians, this was the turning point. On Election Day, I recall some BJP leaders saying there was a heavy Sikh turnout in South Delhi. It implied the Manmohan card was working for the Congress. The results contained many surprises but none greater than Manmohan's resounding defeat. On scrutiny, it was found that the Congress lost most heavily in Sikh-dominated areas. Manmohan's disingenuous bid to turn black into white a
