Please look to the title of the column before commenting. It is 'N-deal will open floodgates of opportunity for India'and nothing else. So pl do not deviate from the main issue. Because I see connection whatsoever between your comments and the article.

Manmohanji will have to sacrifice his post and the new contenders for the PM's post is either Pranab Mukharjee or Shivraj Patil. Both are acceptable to the Lefts.

Nuclear Deal is DISASTER
by Neeraj Kumar on Oct 18, 2007 10:56 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Supporting Guys of uclear deal, answer my fowlowing quesries before you say whatever to Left for opposing Nuclear Deal:
1. China can have same Nuclear deal whithout any restriction on nuclear test or other penalty, but India can not conduct Nuclear Test.
Who is suffering..?
2. After Nuclear Deal, India will have to separate Half reactors and install at other locations (Army use reactors), and this will cost Billions of dollars. If nuclear deal is cancelled , How will India recover these billions of dollars which cost in separation of it's reactors.
3. India can not conduct nuclear test. What if we require a Nucleare Test in future, our handscuffed. Is this not a Slavery?? See Pakistan who ios Slave of America, which condition is it now???
4. Nuclear Reactors are being shut down in Europe and Australia, and even in America. Are they having less enery needs than us?? They Use far greater energy than Indians, and yet shutting Nuclear Reactors, why?? Study.
5. What happened to Iran Pipe Line?? Left is asking to complete it, But Congress is not moving..Why don't people praise LEFT for it..?and comment on IPI Pipeline to complete.
6. A Neutral Country gets help from All countries on PRINCIPLE stands, India will get help from every countries, as it is not on ANY SIDE.
7. There are so other negatives also.
LOK FOR PROPER PRESPECTIVE, NOT SUPPORT BECOZ PAKISTAN OR CHINA OPPOSING.

IF U R REALLY SO MART, WHY NOT YOU SIGN A NUCLEAR DEAL WITH US WITHOUT ANY PENALTY, LIKE THE D

1. Why can China test the Nuclear bomb after it has signed CTBT? When did you last heard of Nuclear Bomb testing?? Nobody in the world has tested nuke bombs after 98.
2. You can never do a business if you aren't able to take risk... Secondly why do they need to put billion of dollars to separate reactors? They will classify the reactors as army or civilian.
3. Why do u need Nuclear test when we have the capability to build bombs and deliver it as well?
4. Can you give me how much percentage of reactors have been closed down?? 75% of energy need in France is thru Nuclear plants
5. Iran pipe line is in progress. If they are asking for more money why go for it?
6. Can you tell me who will help us if we dont have NSG & IAEA approval?

Your Reply goes as under
1. China is a permanant member of the UN security council so its a respectable country to condust n-test, secondly not much is know what hapens in china bcos of the media been controlled by the govt.
2. You are right the IAEA will just lable the reactor as Army or civilian.
3. Testing is done to know the after maths of the blast and check the chain reaction stimulation, which is possible thru software but mechanical and delivery errors cannot be seen thru software, its good to assume a idel condition and check the results by using software. Its similar to crash stimulation done on cars.
4. Apart from one reactor in uk and one in france none heard so far, but the news are there are some reactors termes as completed life cycle in next 3 to 4 years close to 8 reactors in UK and US are termed as close to the life cycle.
5. because the cost of everything is jacked up also the Indian goverment is free to negotiate it but they did not attend the meeting.
6. Practically without the 123 agreement and CTBT no NSG country will help india, even Russia is bound to the NSG rules. But Russia can help india in making reactors.

Man who says it costs billion dollars to seprate militry reactors who says we cant do nuclear test if we do then us will relook at supplie we can still source from 45 other contries
Iran piple is costing us 7.5$ at our border where as reliance will sell the gas at 4.22$ why we pay so much and after paying so much no surity of supply as it is through pakistan

China does not have reprocessing right of nuclear fuel and we have so get your detail right

Well as of now India is getting more dollars from everywhere. And what is RBI doing with $250 billion reserves?? Guess.... Its putting it in the Bonds issued by American govt much like what Chinese and Japanese are doing with their $750 billion... So effectively they are invested in bonds giving us a return of 2%... Aren't we subsidizing US? We sell them goods and software... then give them money to buy these good at 2% interest....
What's the harm if this money goes to buy Nuclear Reactors and fuels???

Left is right on this
by prayaag pathare on Oct 18, 2007 10:16 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Whatever left maybe, but regarding N-deal i think Left are right.
U see according to the agreement with america, we cannot conduct nuclear test. If we do, they can recall all equipment back. Then what about money we have invested? Nuclear test may be essential in near future for our security. Do u think world can restrict our enemy from conducting test. China & pakistan does not have this restriction. Plus what we get from this deal is only fuel for energy!! Which in year 2020 will be approx. 7% of our energy need. So what's the use of this N-deal?? What about Indo-Iran gas pipeline deal? Why govt. is sitting on that? And why not make reactors based on thorium which is available in plenty on our country. Our scientist are capable of doing this, then why to take external help? Left is saying this, they are not opposing nuclear power. U all are not understanding them. Regarding N-Deal with america Left is right, i support them on this only.

You got it wrong. The deal doesnt say when you test US is entitled to take back its equipment. Wonder where you got this from. It can at the best cut the supplies..not take back the installations. But again if you have your supplies from other nations like canada...you'll continue to get your supplies. Thats is the reason the deal is good for india because the penalties arent very severe..unlike earlier we were totally cut off.
Thorium is still under research...even if we had it today time for it to reach criticality is very long so it doesnt help you in your energy need for the next 2 decades.
If you weigh benefits like access to technology and supplies against potential fallouts...we gain a lot and that is why this is a good deal. The only reason Left is against this is because its a deal with USA!!!!

Excluding Russia (and sometimes France) all the other NSG are puppets of Uncel SAM.
Think for your self with rising tensions in the surrounding countries and Chinese agression in Arunachal and Sikkim, leave aside Tibet, Bhutan, Taiwan and Burma what is more important Security or N- supply whoch will only be used after 10 years for power generation.
We need to survive to use the benefits of the 123 deal. China is just in the mood to put more tensions in Inaid as its affecting their business.

Haven't we already tested nukes once or twice? and from what i understand they seem to work fine...do we need to test it like every now and then is it whether our nukes work or not? i have a feeling we don't need to test them anymore, we know they work, we have them and god forbid the time never comes to use them. the end.

How will Nuclear Bombs help you survive?

Secondly as a part of the nuclear deal, the restrictions are on new reactors not old ones. India can still use the old reactors to produce bombs.

As far as testing bombs is concerned, why do u need to test them when you have the capability to develop it.. What are you going to do with the new designs of bombs? Can China test the bombs so easily being a part of CTBT?

In case of any evantuality how do we protect our country N bombs are not to attack but to use it as a diplomatic means of cooling tensions.
And if we dont need bombs the same reactors can be used to convert fuel for n-power reactors.
USA is just looking at its own intrest as pakistan is of no use to them and they cannot control china, none other country seems to be a good ally to them.
Just see how they used Iraq, PAkistan, Afganistan, very soon Israil will see a good kicking from USA.
Why do every product goes thru testing when its already been developed. There is R&D hapening all the time and we need the right to test our own developments.
The N-deal is of no use as we will get the electricity after 10 years (best possible least time), Gaspipe line from Iran is a necessity as the pipeline work in pakistan will complete in next year or so.
Pakistan is getting paid also for the pipeline so with US funds comming down they will have to bank on this funds from India.
Reliance has a history of jacking prices when there is a scaricity this pipeline will keep them too under control. Secondly Reliance pipe gas will take minimum 5 years to be distributed, we need the Iran gas more at this moment than the N-deal.
If congress and the UPA is so keen on the deal and has a public support why they dont dissolve the assembly and go for a fresh mandate.
Can you just script out how the deal will benefit india in the next 5 years.
