All the good work done by the negotiators are going waste. The deal was not struck in a day on a platter but after lot of bargaining. We could not have got a better deal and we are definitely missing the bus at a very crucial period of time. The future generation is not going to pardon Manmohanji for letting the opportunity go.
123 agreement regarding limited use of nuclear is a positive step to keep our world in a peaceful environment. but if this whole work is handled by a single authority (i.e. US) then it is something that means partial towards some one. why is US interested in taking the lead in respect of all the matters. it means now us will decide in what manner a country should use its own resource whether they are fuel resources or any other. some times due to save our country we need to take the steps thta we donot want. but thinkung of the world peace we can not let our country to destroy. so in some cases it is mandatory for a country to use nuclear power for its safety. so US need to bring some change in such agreement.

your views regarding 123 agreement has been critisedd on the ground that there should be someone who needs to take initiative so what if it is US.
Before 1974 India has only two very old type Nuclear power plants ( from USA and Canada)with all strings attached to these. India has no heavy water plant, reprocessing plant, enrichment plants, Fast Breeder Reactors, but only a small research reactor buitlt with the help of USSR where the materials for nuclear blast of 1974 came from. Is that sovreignty where India was totally dependent on the whims of USA-Canada. After 1974 with the help of USSR ( not France) India became self sufficient and now USA is coming in to destroy India's self sufficiency and put India back to the days of 1974: i.e India will get those very old Tarapur type reactor but needs to give up Nuclear weapons ( that is the reason El-Badairi from IAEA came to India). In future India will not be allowed to have reproccessing plants or enrichment plants( this is the dispute on Iran now as Russia supplied Iran one enrichment plant, which USA wants Iran to close down). Thus by signing the Indo-US Deal India will have to sign away its sovreignty. Sonia-MamMohan are CIA agents, if BJP joins it, that would prove Vajpayee-Advani are also CIA agents, which Jaswant Singh is surely is. By the way CHINA supports this deal and encouraging India to sign because then both Pakistan and China armed with nuclear weapons would blackmail India.
I feel shame that I am from West Bengal, a state governed by the communists, the traitors. It looks like they are controlling the country with support of less than 5% of people. What a joke!

well said.. but who will drill all this point to poor people who dont have electricity or internet connection. and they form a chunk of the population.
I feel their is only one way left for Indians is that Increse the power of goverment by reducing the seats of small parties and medium sized party making the center a two or three party system not a multi party system
Looking now it seems only Manmohan and his party is to be blamed for such a situation for the deal. It is very surprising that the Indian media is projecting it as a great loss and showing Manmoshan is right all the way. However, if you are running a coalition government and an agreement that has implications for future generations and too national importance, it would have been a statesman show by having the NDA/Left involved from the early stage itself. At that time Manmohan was busy functioning in secrecy as if he is the greatest leader of India and everyone would accept it plainly. However Mr Manmoshan please realise you are not a leader at all.. you are a puppet who has been installed albeit forcefully to be the PM of such a great nation. Therefore, had you gone with the consensus mode, it seems the deal could have seen the light of the day by now. No offence to the COngress or PM, but then they are the ones to be blamed fo rsuch a situation. Remember it was Congress leader PVN Rao (whom Comgress considered a liability of late), had asked A B Vajpayee to represent India at Geneva. Such acts lead to automatic consensus as everyone feels 'involved' and not 'left' out.
