Congress should have consulted BJP
by Rajeev on Oct 17, 2007 12:17 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress should have consulted BJP before taking the decision to cancel the Nuclear deal. Problem is that Congress always says BJP is Untouchable, how can they consult BJP and beg the support from them?

Congress must need to change the strategy and stop saying that BJP is untouchable, Congress will do anything to stop BJP. If BJP always receives this kind of comment from Congress how can we expect BJP to go to Congress and give them support? I am 100% confidante that even if BJP agrees to support, Congress will again tell that they do not want the support from BJP (b'z BJP is untouchable).

Congress party do not think on national interest they just want to be in power as long as possible.

You are right. Again as I told even if BJP gives support on the deal, now Congress is not going to accept it. B'z the present Congress Govt. do not want to take support from BJP (Untouchable).

because of the dirty politics (90% Congress, Left & allies fault) (10% BJP & allies fault), ultimately India is going to loose a good opportunity.

BJP is 100% at fault ... In the beginning they wanted to support and then they realized that there is no political milage in it for them, BJP leaders like Sinha began their opposition ... not on merit but on partisan politics.

BJP is playing petty partisan politics here ... keeping their own interest ahead of nation's. Commies are doing the same thing ... BJP and commies for once are acting alike.

BJP should play the responibility role that is expected of a mature national party like them

Ok BJP should support the deal, but let the congress have cortesy to atleast ask BLP's
help,cant they(congress) do atleast that.
Lets say even if BJP supports them
unconditional even without asking
for help, even then I am sure congress
will still not go ahead of the deal as it fears allies pulling out of the government.

Indian Communist Party agent of China
by Rajeev on Oct 17, 2007 12:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Ultimately China is successful to stop the Indian Nuclear deal with USA. Chinese do not want the present Government to fall, b'z if the present gov. fall then Nuclear deal will be signed by other government (may be BJP). This government is best suitable for China, b'z of left's support. Left parties must have god very handsome amount of money from China. And see the Congress just for the power they bent down against Communist. Shame on Indian Politics.

How come China is benefited when the deal falls? The deal provides the small opening to our international nuclear isolation through which US could sell its Nuclear reactors at exorbidant cost and make us to depend on them for fuel. If china wishes India should be economically week, it should support the deal and make us to fall into the trap. US cannot sell nuclear weapons to any country as per their Atomic energy act 1954 and nonproliferation act 1978. Hence the issue of getting large quantity of nuclear weapons from US by India and depolyed them in the border with china using this agreement does not arise. How is that they are happy and put lot of effort to purchase the left parties to scuttle the agreement?

Does India need nuclear deal?
by hyd user on Oct 16, 2007 09:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why everything is linked with nuclear deal. Does India will cease to exist if the deal is not done. Does economy depends on this deal. There are so many things India has to achieve, there is so much poorness in the country, infrastructure is so bad and like there are lot of things which should give priority. I don't think by inking the nuclear deal, all these things will be vanished automatically. Spend on R&D, give competitive salaries to researchers and scientists, give some confidence to the working community. So many things can be done...instead of wasting time and money on this deal...i have been seeing this government is putting so much amount of money and time on this deal, which if it is made will give only a percentage increase of power, so why do you waste so much money and time on this. "Think beyond nuclear deal."

RE:Does India need nuclear deal?
by Jit Dutta on Oct 17, 2007 03:10 AM  Permalink
Dear hyd user,
India needs the nuclear deal for several reasons. India needs the deal to have another major source of energy to sustain the GDP growth rate (and yes to create jobs for folks like you), to access other high-tech which is currently denied due to NPT, to gain diplomatic stature that comes with being recognized as a de-facto nuclear power (a la China). Before you come up with coal energy, please consider that with global warming and pollution crisis it is becoming untenable to massively ramp up coal based power production, with oil is approaching $100/bl India doesn't have very many choices to produce power. As for other alternate sources of energy i.e., solar or wind power etc they are not yet scalable or cost effective enough that is needed to power up anation of billion people with a 9% growth rate. Finally, a deal which China, Pakistan and CPM oppose so badly, how can it be bad for India?

Hope it clears up your confusion, hyd user!

Let BJP Comes
by Sanjeev Singh on Oct 16, 2007 01:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Who is the biggest stake holder of this deal? The people -common man. Ironically this common man was kept in dark in the whole process by UPA. A politcial debate in parliament would have exposed the left and have helped common people forming an opinion about it. Ironically the deal has been created and killed by few people. All the tall claims of PM has gone back. His credibility and postion is at stake. I want to ask Sonia manio -- Who is the biggest enemy of this country (remeber your own speech in Haryana)? So Congress led UPA alliance finally led the lust of power taking over the governance. The govt will fall in next 6 month but on a diffrent issue..Left will do that. U reap waht you sow. This alliance was a marrige of convinece (post poll alliance- to stop someone comming to power). This alliance doesnt have a approval of people of India.

Support of BJP
by bvvp prasad on Oct 16, 2007 01:23 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Cong is not taken in to confidence of BJP either have a discuss in Parliament or they have their own Committee with Left, DMK, RJD, etc., lefting the opposition NDA in to confidence. The author of this article has missed this point.

After Nuclear test Vajpayee taken the services of P V Narasimha Rao to have dilague with Westren Countries.

When time comes for national security and interest once should not hesitate to take help of opposition. They are not life time rivals.

But how can BJP support the present Government, the PM already said that BJP performed Pooja for his death. Shame this PM is an educated spinless person.

bwp prasad is right. When this issue was quoted by BJP leaders as the ruling govt should have discussed with BJP before concluding was turned off by Congress Leaders. Now you can't expect BJP to push it in favour.
