You are an intelligent human being. Your life is valuable for its own sake. You are not second-class in the universe, deriving meaning and purpose from some other mind. You are not inherently evil%u2014you are inherently human, possessing the positive rational potential to help make this a world of morality, peace and joy. Trust yourself.

Do you mean that the person who wrote or revealed Kuran had studied Vedas? This is out of question because Muhammad who is said to reveal Kuran from some Farishta was totally illiterate. Secondly, he was a criminal minded person, so it is not expected him to go in sch deep meanings. It may only be a conicident that these two have similar meaning.

Dear Vijay, The Koran is a plagrised version of Old Testament. The Prophet (Mohammed)was not aware of any places on planet earth except for his immediate neighbourhood i.e. Arabian Peninsula. The apologists for hinduism are stretching their imaginations too far!
The mega polis of Mumbai holds many a challenge for the 'rookie' who lands here unaware of the hurdles and challenges that he or she might haveto face. A recent incident saw one such hapless victim falling prey to the over enthusiastic nature of Bombay's local train commuters. Our hero, a man from Pune, wanted to go to Matunga, but as luck and trains would have it,boarded a fast train not halting at his destination. He panicked on realising his mistake but by then the local had started moving. On seeinghis plight, a sympathetic co-passenger decided to come to his rescue. Itseemed that he had been commuting by that particular train (6:03pm Kasara Fast) forthe past 6 years and had noticed that the train always slowed down just before Matunga station and crawled at a snail's pace while passing through it. He told the man to jump out of the running train asitslowed down and that with a little bit of fleet-footedness, he would make it safely on terra firma. However, knowing the man's inexperience, he addedsome words of caution:"Keep running the moment you jump or you'll fall. Just keep running."He stressed the word "running" lest the man not know the laws of motion. The train did slow down just before Matunga station and at the prompting of his mentor, our hero jumped out of the train and started running as if all hell had broken loose. What he didn't realise, of course, was that he was running parallel to the train instead of running away from it. Meanwhile, the train slowed down

Cont'd Meanwhile, the train slowed down further, so that the man was running faster than the train. In the process, he reached the door of the next compartment and the foot board commuters there pulled him in thinking he was trying to board the train! To his agony, the train picked up speed and sped past Matunga andhis new co-passengers started to congratulate him on how lucky he had been, until he told them that they had actually undone what he had done with great difficulty. Those standing at the door of his"ex-compartment" had witnessed the wholedrama and just couldn't stop laughing at the poor man's situation, while he grinned sheepishly.

Dear Lagtey Khan, what pleasure you derive from abusing others? If you don't agree to the views of another person, you can refute the same in a civilized way. This message board is provided by Rediff to express our views (not for abusing each other)!

Dear Kafir Sahab, we Indians are eager to own-up the parentship of every thing on earth! We would even claim that Nuclear Bombs are the Brahmastras described in Mahabharata. There could be some similarities in the method of worship of the population the world over as it is believed that the mankind originated in Africa and spread to different parts of the world in due course of time. Many of our epics are the oral traditions of the ancient civilizations.
The Arab traditions and those propagated by The Prophet (Mohammed) are entirely different from those prevailing in the ancient India. I doubt whether Prophet Mohammed was even aware of a country called India (btw the India of that time consisted of many princely states at war with each other).
Hinduism is not a religion in its strict sence. Our constitution defines all those who are not followers of Islam, christianity, Judaism and Zorashtrainism as Hindus. The same is a coglomeration of various beliefs and even by that defnition atheists like me are also Hindus.
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action-- Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
