The knickerwallahs and the related Sangh Parivar while standing up for nationalism from a theorotical perspective have done little on ground.
BJP and the Sangh parivar have been positioned by our pseduo secular establishment as a Hindu organisation. The Sangh Parivar's only crime was that they made some noise (mind you not much action) for the down trodden Hindu under intellectual seige by semetic ideologies and nehruism. Despite the BJP's best efforts, Musalmaans and christians are unlikely to vote for the BJP in significant numbers.
That said, BJP has benefited whenever instead of sending confused signals, they mobilised around emotive Hindu Issues. BJP in 1990s benefitted from walking the Hindu talk through Ram temple movement through Advani resulting in substantial growth. Subsequent Vajpayee hypocrisy, the intent to pander to pseudoseculars, caving in at Qandahar and wooing of islamists, pathetic attempts to reposition Advani using Jinnah quote have all resulted in the non chalance of the Hindu voter towards BJP and electoral downturn. Hindu voterlike other voters does not like paper tigers (the reality of BJP's and Sangh Parivar's wimpy actions not meeting the perception of their being a party that takes Hindu line).
Modi's phenomenal success in the last Gujarat elections was on account of his taking on our Pseudo secular establishment and walking the Hindutva talk; perception of BJP's Hindutvahood met the test of reality. Before Chote Sardar Modi, in places

No point in crying. This always proved Hindus weak point. We are always liberal and forgiving and accomdating. Time is overripe for positive action. Inspite of noise why no more riots in Gujarat and peace is prevailing. About time mohammeds poodles are given a taste of their own medicine. If we cannot history will continue on and on.

Feels wonderful to read such a nice article, trying to spread love and brotherhood instead of hatred, flowing from somebody in RSS. Well, the BJP also needs votes from everyone, not just the fanatics. Even modi has a new image. Well, that's the power of democracy!!!!!!! Long live democracy in India.

Dear Manjula
Brotherhood is possible only with those that are tolerant. Our Hindu faith has as its Axiom - Ekam Sat, Vipro Bahuda Vadanti (Truth(God) is One, People call the Truth(God) by different names).
Islam says, Laillahillallah, mo-hum-mad ur rasulallah. (There is no god but allah and mo-hum-mad is the only path to reach god). christiansm is not much different except that the route in question is that of jesus.
So while we Hindus are willing to tolerate islamism and christianism, the orthodox followers of islamism and christianism have nothing but contempt for us Hindus and our beliefs.
So what do we do. For answer see my post Sang Parivar - Confused Lot - Too Many Egos - No Clarity of Thought (message 183 in this column)
The main reason that India fares better than Pakistan is that we, in India, have fewer fundamentalist fruit cakes as a percentage of population than Pakistan does. In India the rabid sangh parivar elements are far fewer (definitely more cowardly) than the various Jamaats found in Pakistan. Since their cowardly pack is a bit smaller the harm that they do is lesser.
There are also more robust institutions in our country that will highlight and hound these fundus fearlessly as compared to Pakistan. There are comparitively better judicial systems that rely more on laws of 'Natural law'. Pakistan does have the disadvantage where they believe that what the Umaah does is right even when it can be blatantly wrong whereas in India we are more balanced and fair in our assessments.
A sensible piece of journalism, but surprisingly from the Hindutva camp. But it has to happen. And don't be surprised if future sees a United India, not the Akand Bharat but a true signpost for the world.

Future United India? Another moron on the block who has not learnt his lesson. Partition is the best thing that has happened to us Indians. It got rid of half of the parasites.

I agree Pande-ji, Brahmins from UP/Bihar have the best brains. Hope they do the right thing and save India from confused lot (Pls see my post above Sang Parivar - Confused Lot - Too Many Egos - No Clarity of Thought)
Too much of history is nauseating for the Indian common man. Let's close this chapter on history and honor and move on to basic day-to-day issues. Let's try to understand the pain of the farmers, of those who lost their lands to SEZs. Let's try to address environmental degradation, loss of habitat, vehicular pollution. Buried under rhetoric are real issues, let's apply brilliant minds like yours to those real life issues.
Tarun Vijay is a Secularist Idealists; these people get killed first by the Mussalmans in any communal riots. Islam is the firstest growing religion, and Pakistan is the centre of Islamic terrorism. Pakistan used to have 34 percent of its population as non-Muslims. They do not exist today. Same is true in Bangladesh. However, in India the percentage of the Muslims went up from 9 in 1947 to 14 in 2001 and is still growing. Thus, Pakistan's Islamic Dream is very successful and India's Secularist dream is gradually turning Assam and West Bengal into Muslim majority states; J&K is already a no-go area for the non-Muslims. Iqbal was the person who has created Pakistan. We in India must hate this guy Iqbal. Jews do not appreciate Wagner. Why should we read Iqbal at all, who has glorified mass murder of the Hindus. RSS-BJP have gone mad: it is praising British rule in India in the pages of The Organiser. Advani is calling Jinnah as a Secularist. Now Tarun Vijay is praising Iqbal and Paki Biriyani-Murge Mussallam of the Mussalmans. Pakis just want to kill us, it does not make any difference whether they are educated or not. Jinnah, Surawardy, Liaqat Ali, were all London trainned Barristers, but they were killers--- or they are Secularists according to Advani!!!!!!

Well said..but you can't deny about the quality of articles Tarun writes. Why is it so that the journalist's lot fails to pick the subjects important to nation. The journalists of the country have failed to do nation building precisely because they as a whole have chosen to join the political class rather than doing a good job. Today, the journalists of India work hands in gloves with our corrupt political system. We have top journalists like Tarun Tejpal, who's company works well with politicians and are masters of blackmailing. And it unfortunate that we call these people intellectuals. At least Tarun Vijay has written good news article in last couple of months and he deserves good marks for it.

So what do you want to do? Kill all muslims, in India and all over the world? It is neither possible nor sensible. Let us move on to higher discourse.

Convert musalmaans out of islamism (islamism by its nature has extra territorial loyalties). Give them a good role in the context of our multi-ethno-cultural mileau.
Swantaveer Savarkar had articulated such as model. The Hindutva never talks about killing muslims. The pseudoseculars have created a contrary and false perception.
How easy is to abuse and condemn s shown by some of the letters who are full of gobar gas and stink. Isnt it wonderful to see a person lke tarun Vijay, famous editor of Panchjanya to write about a neighbour in a candid and sympathetic manner? why would some of the guys want only misiles and abuses for Pakistanis? Build your own strenghth and defeat the enemy agaon in war, but to throw mud in an illogical way are the sure signs of cowardice and weakness. I have bcome a fan of Mr. arun Vijay, though I never supported RSS.
By A. Naved-(ahnaved2007@yahoo.com)-After a very long time I saw a logical and hate-less article by an RSS pero. Kudos to Tarun Vijay for showing a corage o empathise with Pakistani people yet tell the hard truth about the pos-conversio hate of Muslms for Hindus and India. Its a true picture, those who are talking about Iqbal and his song are missing the core point- which tarun Vijay has raised in a decent yet firm manner-why a pice of land, whic was an inseperable part of our India became so ateful towards their own blood brothers so much that a foreign nation was preferred than the one which is same in blood, rac and share ancestors? Its conversion to Islam , a phenomenon which was described by V.S.Naipaul. Tarun has nowhere enjoyed the plight of Pakistan is this the factor that bothers Indian fundamentalists? He has spoken against the hate monger elements and if some posts are hateful how can he be blamed for that? Its a clean, couraeous and pro-humanity piece indeed.
