by K K on Nov 08, 2007 08:55 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Look who is talking. This person is shameless. He will do anything to topple the non-congress governments in the states. Now he talks of federalism. Shameless!!

This is like George Bush talking about world peace. What a joke.

We need strong people from within, not just gossipers, big talkers.
by manoj kumar on Nov 07, 2007 08:13 AM  Permalink

We can not have strong india unless we focus on individual needs and train them to be strong, passionate, creative. We have to help them
grow from inside, spiritually. Otherwise we will have too much curruption & violance.
In india we are lucky we have so many organisation which are doing excellent job. Like Vipassana, Art of living, osho dhara, landmark forum These courses help one look within and grow in self awarness & intelligence. Which is most important quality to live a fulfilled and powerfull life. Then we can have strong india.

Federalism - a Myth.
by RABI KANUNGO on Nov 05, 2007 11:46 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It may not hear well to many in India that the concept of federalism had been a quest before Independence and is absolutely lost thereafter. In naked eye, one could see federalism in speech but not in action. India is Federal nearer to Delhi and India elsewhere is also Federal which has the capacity to destabilize Delhi. This is a perverse interpretation of federalism. Time may take care of the discrimination. PM%u2019s views are therefore very cosmetic.

RE:Federalism - a Myth.
by Manjula A on Nov 09, 2007 03:45 PM  Permalink
Federalism was a myth in India for a long time with the Congress alone (a then for a little time, the BJP) being in power and behaving kind of indifferent to the states, pouring all money into UP etc., but now, after coalition politics seems to have come to stay, Federalism is fast becoming a reality and the people belonging to states other than UP have also started having a say in Governance.

we should follow US model of federal system
by north indian on Nov 05, 2007 09:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

US model of centre -state relationship should be followed in India . This will allow states are rise faster on economic front. Thus reducing poverty, hunger greatly. But problem is , people sitting in Delhi just will not allow power to get from their hand and will decide in every small matter of each states.

People sitting in Delhi and deciding everything, is a thing of the past. Now is the era of coalition politics. Regional parties do have a say now.

What a wastage of knowledge ?
by Venkat N on Nov 05, 2007 08:54 PM  Permalink

What to do with such an amount of knowledge and intelligence, if a person can not independently use it, and is tied to a sycophantic party and a leadership with only family background being its qualification ?
