About the judiciary
by Imran Nazir on Nov 04, 2007 05:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

It is not a surprise that the ruling elite of both Pakistan and India have no great regard for the judiciary. India's elite uses seminars to run down the judiciary. Pakistan's elite uses more direct methods.

India a supporter of Musharraf?
by Howdy Texan on Nov 04, 2007 05:09 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Not sure why this guy Hamid Mir keeps saying that India supports Musharraf. He is responsible for Kargil, Indians of this generation will never forget or forgive. If Pakistanis has put up Musharraf as their leader, Indians will deal with him as they would with anyone in power. Please keep India out of your mess. You truly did not gain Independence, your own army is your enemy, you deal with your mess instead of blaming everyone in the world. Good Luck.

I think Hamid Mir is disappointed at the responses coming out of India... But then, i presume Hamid Mir realizes that India doesn't want to be targetted party for Mushraff to evoke emotion at this current stage..

i think musharaff is right in removing chief justice as that guy was releasing terrorists and prosecuting police so that police loose interets in stopping terrorists. something similar done by sonia by removing POTA/TADA etc

If Bharadkumar
by deepak on Nov 04, 2007 03:42 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

if Bharadkumar limited his rhetoric in previous articlea, and not always looked at other nations through anti-American ideology, Perhaps, we, the indians, who want to maintain some sort of balance between our economic prosperity which comes of indulging in trade with all nations including America, and not be carried away in anti-American rhetoric, and start sleeping with people in Beds who will never satisfy our personal economical interests, perhaps, he had some merit in his words about following America's plan in the region... But Bharadkumar is an anti-American ideologue, with limited interest to geopolitics, and nothing else.. There are things beside geopolitics... Plus, we do not wanna express strong words against Pakistan, and end up giving Mushraff a chance to evoke emotions using outside nation like india... Just think how far Pakistan has fallen into with this declaration.. Its already oppressed institutions, and among them until today, an independent judicary system, has been branded non-existent without india firing a single bullet... Muslims, if left alone, always fight each other... Fire is in Pakistan, India's neighbor, but India has state of the art safety standard installed to extinguish the fire... Look Kashmiri people look across the border, and say; is this pakistan?

good point. but muslims in kashmir - the fighters that is, want their own country. Time and again, they have rejected the idea of being a pakistani province. Even those guys know the truth about Pakistan - that they will never prosper with Pakistan and will be subject to the same style rule.

I sometimes wonder why kashmiries (muslims that is) want a separate state? what do those separatist leaders think will help them survive? what will they do with land?

Muslims and Democracy

Only in Kashmir, the Muslims complain about Army presence but what about mostly 55 Islamic nations ruled by Armies, monopolies, dictators etc.? How come Muslims do not complain about that?

Mushy's Last Stand
by san man on Nov 04, 2007 03:33 AM  Permalink

Mushy's making a last stand to keep himself from being sidelined, as the November deadline for his tenure approaches.
He may be able to get USA to accept it, but will the jihadis take this lying down? Or will they now take the fight more directly to Musharraf?

US answer to Karat!!??
by jaison mulerickal on Nov 04, 2007 02:15 AM  Permalink

I think, it is US answer to Karat.

it's something like either with US or without US.

Now, Pak is under direct control of US - highly unstable and can disturbe India (and its exceptional growth) at any time using a Pak army.

Question of US to Karat: Do you want our Nukes with our 'strategic support'? Or else be surounded by 2 BIG enemies - Militray ruled Pak and China.

China can never be India's 'true' friend in the near future (may b in the long run we may become). Pak under US (or their plans). Do we need US on board or sail alone?

BIG QUESTION?

I think, get the nuke project on board (that gives us not only power, but nukes). Have 'strategic relationship' with US, but with respectable distance.

It's going to be a dirty game. US has started it (it's their last resort, as US is getting weaker day by day). We have to tread cautiously. If we are successful, we will benefit 10 times or else be doomed.

Let's break the back of this terrorist country once and for all.

Time has come to take our revenge. After 600 years of islamic invasion and 150 years of british rule, HERE IS OUR CHANCE TO CLAIM OUR LAND BACK. OUR VERY OWN SINDHU VALLEY must be taken back. The place where ancient hindu traditions prospered..

Take a step Indian Intelligence agencies...
