Pakistanis are used to be Slaves
by siva kumar on Nov 04, 2007 07:49 AM  Permalink

As pakistanis have never enjoyed real freedom or democracy in their lifetime they are not going to bother about this imposition of emergency. They have been brought to a state of slave mentality because of continuous martial law for decades after independence.
Moreover they will accept anything in the name of Allah or Quron.
They die like a bunch of goats in bombblasts but lack the courage to fight for a real democracy.
They are a stark contrast to People of Nepal. Though a very smaller country compared to Pakistan, the Nepalis have fought tooth and nail against the Monarch and his arbitrary power and attained a democratic and secular state.
Even now only a handful of Journalists and Judges are opposed to the martial law and the common man has no reaction.
They didn't react when Bhutto was hanged or when Nawaz was deported or when he was again deported from airport.
So it is next to impossible to see demorcracy or a responsible Govt in Pakistan even in distant future.

Let's show Pakistan the Gandhian solution to all such problems
by Vishvaksenah E on Nov 04, 2007 07:46 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Our beloved brothers in Pakistan are fighting unnecessarily.
We should seize this opportunity and show how our beloved Bapuji [Peace be upon him] would have solved this minor crisis.

Let the secular UPA government invite all the noble and religious people whom General Musharraf loathes to our beloved Bapuji's [Peace be upon him] land ...that is India.

Each one of them can be given a monthly pension of atleast Rs.10,00,000

They can be requested to participate in the elections in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh etc. As these gentlemen are pious, all our secular parties will indeed support them and they will win with substantial majority.

Once they become MLAs and MPs, there will be total peace here in our beloved Bapuji's [Peace be upon him] land ie. india and Pakistan too.

This act of Gandhigiri will be truly rewarding to all.

Long live secularism!
Long live Gandhigiri!

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS OF TROUBLES
by Shanker M on Nov 04, 2007 06:08 AM  Permalink

Well, I just read through all the posts here, and there were several areas discussed.

I would consider uniting India and Pakistan to be a very bad idea. I have been working abroad since 3 years and I'am just 25. Pakistan is in bad shape in terms of infrastructure, social life and the like. So, there wuld definetly be a propensity for all Pakistani citizens to live a better life. Though Indin infrastructure is in a pathetic state, its way better than Pakistan and they would only love to live a beter life in India. This would lead to wide spread infiltration and then we would hear bomb blasts liek the morning sunrise and sunset :-)))

So, like someone said the wisest thing would be for Pakistan to come out of the present state of anarchy.

Besides, though I'am a very religious person, I must accept this fact my friends 'RELIGION MAY NOT BE THE ROOT CAUSE OF TROUBLES, CHAOS, HATRED AND ETHNOCENTERISM....BUT, IT CONTRIBUTES A LOT TOWARDS THE SAME."

I have been working in China since2 years now. As all of you know it a communist country and no one has any say here. The government takes care of its people, builds good roads, entertainment, brings in foreign investments etc. Before coming to China, I thought of it to be a Buddhism "adda", but no. People are very calm, and have very little reasons to fight against each other :-) aLL OF THEM ARE athesists here and are taught from school days to belive int he country and not in god. That leads us to the question about "cultur

all the blame on US
by . on Nov 04, 2007 01:00 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

it is bcoz of US support that Pak Prez Musharraf was allowed to rule the country. So-called supporter of democracy in the world, master of human rights, who wants to remove all the so-called bad evils from the world like saddam, is the main culprit, for violating the human rights and autocracy in pak.

HELP us divide pakistan into four parts Sindh, Balochistan, Wazirstan and PakPunj.

Let's break the back of this terrorist country once and for all.

Time has come to take our revenge. After 600 years of islamic invasion and 150 years of british rule, HERE IS OUR CHANCE TO CLAIM OUR LAND BACK. OUR VERY OWN SINDHU VALLEY must be taken back. The place where ancient hindu traditions prospered..

Take a step Indian Intelligence agencies...

A democratic and stable govt in pakistan will be in india's best interest. The nukes falling into the hands of ecteremists will be the gravest threat the world would have ever faced. a volatile neighbour will always be a headache for India.

You are right, divided Pakistan will be claimed by US and turned into another threat to India.
We should hope for peace in Pak, India's future will be more secure.
US is already sitting in Afghanistan, do we want them in Islamabad, keeping an eye of India??

Divided pakistan will be good actually. All the bad things are in western pakistan - the pastuns, the baloch, the NWFP, the FATA ... they are the troubled ares ... Punjab and Sindh are better and more progressive. People there are opposed to terorrism and realise the damage it is doing to their nation. So, break pakistan into two - call eastern part the pakistan and western part "jahanum". Give the western part to Afgnaistan with US forces in command.
