We should adopt only one policy - recognise and reward merit. If the backward need to be molly cuddled, as we have been doing so far , since independence, let it be only for giving them basic education. There is the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan fund for this purpose. For any other benefit, let this class of society earn its benefits, like all others. Have we not seen the demerits of this reservation policy till date ? Most Public Sector Undertakings , which have served the interests of vote bank politics, and the so called backward classes, have been loss making companies. And today, the government wants to introduce reservation even in the Private Sector. Wake up government , before it is too late ! All the netas who are propagating this policy should be banned from contesting elections, for effecting a society divide.

But dont u think guys that somewhere we are also at fault by not VOTING. we only blame politicians .Politicains are nerds especially congress who are taking our country nowwhere. WE all educated people should come together to change this system. its of no use discussing here on this forum.Govt only arranges for SC/ST and hutments to vote wat abt us.. we software professioanls travel for job in different cities. they should make one single identity card so that we can vote in any city provided only once.. why not technology is used in our country.. only solution to this is we all educated people coming together against this filthy system.. we should be ashamed.. a waitress of other foreign country is ruling our country.. why did all great freedom fighters fight to free our country...

I totally agree with anil. I guess its high time we people need to realise that these quotas and reservation are eating away our society rather than building it. Merit and talent should be the only criteria. If you really want to help the needy, then help the poors( be it from any caste they come) so that they should not be deprived of anything. I have personally seen so many people from the so called backward classes who are earning so well, and still enjoying the benefits of these reservations. The major problem in our society is the fact that politicians are able to win elections and increase their vote bank because of these reservations and quotas. It won't be far when the time will come when "out of 100 seats( be it for any anything) only one will be open for the general category and the rest will be divided in the reservation categories" and india being such a huge country, there is no end to the ways in which we can keep on increasing the reservations..backward classes, SC's, ST's, Christians, Muslims, jains, Parsis, and etc etc etc,,the list is never ending!!!!

We saw development......we saw infrastructure bieng developed..........we saw India rising in global eyes..........we saw it becomming an offical nuclear power........we saw respect of Indians rising in international eyes.........
Now all we see is.....................hindu vs muslims........lower castes vs upper casts.....call for reservations etc............all things done to hurt India's premiere institutions.....and slow down the economy...........(mind u economy is rising above 9% due to pvt companies not due to got companies and institutions).....

BJP govt have proved again they are incapable of governing anything. They are just good for instigating voilence, creating communal riots, dividing hindus vs muslims, muslims vs Xtians, christians vs hindus etc.
This agitation cannot be entertained in anyway. When Ambedkar himself asked for only 10 years of reservation but the backwards got it for 60 years; now they have no excuse.
If 100 years back Ambedkar himself cameup from a very poor rural background, without any benefit of reservation: then any logic given for reservation is plain bullshit. Somehow these people are greedy for free lunch and their hunger has no ends.
They just need excuses to hide their incompetencies and earn by cheating.Infact last more than 1000 years the Moghuls & British ruled, and the so called backwards got full opportunity but failed misreably.
As for poor & hungry in villages- why only the Hindu-SCs will get benefit? All irrespective of caste-religion should get benefit
Gujjars don't even know they're being played around!!! It's Marx's theory that within each class there's a sub class that dominates that class!!! So no matter how much upliftment comes to the gujjars or the other SCs they will remain to be suppressed, dominated by the superiors from their own class!!! In short the rich becomes the richer and the poor becomes poorer!!!!

There seems to be some logic in your line of thinking. I am reminded of the 'Creamy layer' issue when it was sought to separate the well-off layer of the backward classes from reservation, so the deserving sections would get the benefit. There was such a hullaballoo over this and mass agitations by the concerned castes against creamy layer. This makes it clear that economically well-to-do people of lower castes would want the free meal anyways - irrespective of whether the really impoverished live in poverty or not.
Thus the whole issue is - there are free meals up for grabs; come get it and eat it - never mind if your lower class brother lives in dire destitution or not. Ethics be damned.
Did Mr. V.P Singh, Mr. Arjun Singh, Mr. Manmohan Singh ever thought that one day their reservation policy will bring the country to a situation of Home War. This is just the begning. If Rajasthan Government include Gujjars in ST the Meena's are ready to fight if Rajasthan Govt do not agrees then the Gujjars will make the things worse.
One way it was bound to happen. The General Class were suffering from Reservation Policy now we can say it the time for the Political Parties of Pay Back.
The perfact example is the when India was facing the terrorism it was USA giving us the lectures now as USA facing the same they can better understand the pain we have faced.

basically this is not a religious issue. So it should not be used to abuse each other. Secondly violence of any kind is unacceptable. Gujjars are protesting because they feel sidelined but there should be a better way to protest and there should be even better policing. The riot control is so bad that the police start controlling the people by shooting real bullets in their heads.
