In the sivilized Sickular world, let sikhs have reservation and govt bribe for them. Let them give up their effort of carrying a sword and accept sickular govt bribe.

Re: Dera moves SC
by mohnish chaudhary on May 25, 2007 01:24 PM  Permalink

I see an irony here. Ganesh in his post mentioned the greatness of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guruji always preached peace and promoted harmony. But what I see today by the political Sikh organizations if just the opposite of what guruji preached. My question is that, shouldn't the sikh community promote peace and harmony instead of the violent protests being witnessed?

The dera followers only attached the Sikhs when they entered their premises with wrong intentions. No other violent protest has been witnessed because of the dera men. But I saw many sikh organizations politicising the issue for their own benefit. They even went further to announce that not enough was done after the Akal Takth meeting and that they now would plan for the things themselves !!!

Being a true Sikh would reflect all the qualities that guruji always promoted. But most do not seem to follow those ideas these days! What else they care about is more of politics and less of religion.

Peace,
Mohnish

ABE KAM SE KUM APNE WORDS KE LIYE HE SAHI, PREM KO BANAYE RAKHNE KE LIYE HE SAHI, MAAFI MAANG LE, Guru to apne shishyon ke liye, jaan tak dene to tayyar rahte the aur tujhe maafi maangne main he sharam aa rahi hai ? I guess, you missed out on the exact proceedings. No abuses please, but your post reflects that you have incomplete information about the event.
Dera has already apologised to the Sikh community which was unreasonably rejected by the Sikh clergies !!!

I feel the sikh community should understand the politics being played out here and try to maintain their calm and try finding a peaceful solution to the problem.

Peace,
Mohnish

Whats this fuss all about !!
by Bhaya Kolkatta on May 25, 2007 01:09 PM  Permalink

Its surdaars this time who are being outright unreasonable.

I don't really understand what this fuss is all about. They say immitation is the best form of flattery. If Dera man was immitating the Sikh Guru he was in no way insulting or mocking him. I think it was the admiration for Sikh Guru in his back of mind. If it was wrong why surdaars enact punj pyare during their processions? That also amounts to copying..

It seems it's totally political as Dera was backing Congress in Punjab elections, nothing else, as now Akalis are brandishing their swords after getting Punjab to rule.

The demand of closing down all the deras by Akal Takht is simply not acceptable. If you have any problem with anybody else , the law of the land should prevail. No one religion can force any other religion like this. If tomorrow because of one incident , like nude painting of Hindu Goddesses by MF Hussain , Hindus demand that all the mosques be closed down, what will be the situation.

ARen't hindus after MF Hussain's blood after his so-called insult to hindu deities? Haven't Hindus forced him to leave his country? Then why are you painting this lop-sided picture to show yourself as Doodh ka dhula and Akal Takht as fascist? Why this double standard?

For your kind information, Mr Bhaya, Congress has lost the Punjab elections to Akalis. so now who is the instigator??? By your logic it should be congress behind all this because it lost inspite of its underhand methods and now this so-called Guru is provoking the sikhs by his blasphemous acts.
And Sardaars, as you say so demeaningly, are not being unreasonable, it is people like you who are being deliberately insulting.

Dera a Fraud
by ganesh on May 25, 2007 12:49 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Sikhs are one great people. Their early gurus were so kind they accepted death by torture at the hands of Muslim fanatics
for noble causes. Fifth Guru Arjan Dev ji was roasted alive to death by Jehangir, Akbar's son, to the choice of embracing Islam. He was given an alternative of fine of 2 lakhs, which his followers were ready to pay, but he declined, telling he wanted to give money to poor and needy, but not before coersion.

Guru Teg Bahadur 9th guru and father of Guru Gobind Singh ji was beheaded by Aurangazib where the Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib stands today, when Guru visited him to advice him against forced conversion of Hindus in Kashmir.

Seeing this atrocity Guru Gobind ji turned Sikhism to its militant face. But for Khalsa Indian history would have been different. Sikhs fought Muslim fanatics gallantly and died in scores. Once after a war in which they were defeated, thousands of Sikh heads were impaled in pols and was paraded in a procession in Lahore, to lampoon them.

Guru Gobind Singh ji , in a meeting wanted, with sword in his hand, one man's head to be given as sacrifice for the first guru. One person came forward and he was taken to the back of the stage and, guru returned with blood dripping from the sword. This was repeated five times. He did'nt kill them, he was just taking the most sincere and dedicated. They were called 'paanch pyare'. And he asked sikhs to add 'Singh' to their name, which meant 'lion'.
Guru Gobind Singh ji himself became

Guru Gobind Singh ji himself became a martyr.

Mocking such historic gallantry on adverse conditions by present day frauds like sauda, enacting 'saath sithare', and asking to add 'Insaan' to his followers names', is nothing but cheap gimmicks.

And till recently Sikhs were the soul and butter of Indian Army. Anything that malign Sikhism should be firmly dealt with.
