Surely, it is a step forward for anti terrorism But in my opinion, with every passing day, the challenge of terror is increasing and such success matters little. We all know that terrorism was nurtured by the west with the support of Pakistan. Purpose was to fight Russia and bleed India. Finally this policy boomaranged against its perpetrators i.e. the West and Pakistan and I feel,in due course, it will spread in oil rich Arab countries, who are acting as stooges of the west. Unfortunately, at this crucial juncture, the US has a naive president, completely guided by the hawks and oil lobby. After 9/11, when they attacked Afghanistan, he along with his poodle was on a moral highway and the whole world supported him. Unfortunately, the greed of cheap Iraqi oil was too much temptation for the US policy makers, who tried to encash the prevailing sympathy of the world and attacked Iraq and that was a big boon for the terrorists, who are deriving full adavantage of the US's folly and in the process the world is much more unsafe today than it was earlier. The world would have been in much better situation, if US had'nt attacked Iraq in search of non-existent WMD's and instead concentrated on Afghanistan. If any country required regime change, it was Pakistan's ISI and not Iraq. Unfortunately, that would have been too much as the US themselves had created the frankenstine. The common joke in Pakistan used to be that Pakistan is ruled by Allah, Army and America. The other joke used to be that all countries have a army attached to it, but in Pakistan, the army has a country attached to it. However, surely Dadullah's elimination is a big help, but I am afraid that the adavantage is going to be short lived, unless the right decision is taken at the earliest with respect to Iraq. The suggestion of bringing in Syria and Iran on board needs serious thought and action. In fact Russia and China should also be brought in for the larger benifit of the world - but the US will never acept this as this is likely to diminish their influence in middle east, which means loosing control,on sources of cheap oil. However, there is one silver lining and that is if mankind can find out an alternate source of energy; then the whole balance will undergo a severe change and the rich nations might decide to let go of their present control over middle east and that will surely help in weakening of terrorism; however that will create another set of problem due to the sudden economic imbalance, whoose impact is difficult to assess now.
