It is a good thing to give the option to comment by all the readers. But I feel that there is a need to filter/edit before these comments are posted on the website, not afterwards. Sometimes the readers are getting highly emotional and attacking other readers personally which will never do any good. The whole purpose of sharing mature and sensible thoughts is getting lost in this war of the words. I also feel the image of the website is getting damaged because of this.

I agree with Shabeeb and the nameless one :), and disagree with Diamavane.
Freedom of Speech has limits. Otherwise, why do you think there are laws against hate speech? If there were none, the Nick Griffiths (head of the racist BNP in Britain), Bal Thackerays, and Abu Hamzas (the preacher of hate in the Finsbury Park Mosque, London) of the world would have a field day (they still are, but it could be worse!). If freedom of speech were construed to be as you defined it, one could never win a defamation case.
So my point is, you should be allowed to express what you feel like, but comments like 'Kat**s, leave India and go to Pakistan', 'Hinduism is an evil religion, you worship cows and donkeys', and others of this nature are entirely unacceptable and unpalatable.

Dear rajesh bhaskar, Worship the One, Who created you and the donkey and the cow. Instead of worshiping the 'Creator' is it wise and true to worship the 'Creature'. Will you ask the Peon for your sallary or you Boss? If you ask Peon for the money you will be called beggar, but if you ask your Boss for the money you will remain the respected person. Try to understand the soul of Islam, it tells you to worship 'One Creator' instead of worshipping 'Thousand Creatures'.

You seem to lack an understanding of freedom of speech.. What you're talking about is like the controls in Soviet union or the islamic countries. A forum has readers from variety of ages, backgrounds.. every body's view differs and are not always acceptable to everyone else. If rediff censors messages beforehand, you and I will not have ANY FAITH in this message board.

Rajesh Bhaskar, I think you have mispelled you name, you must be 'Rascal Bastared'. Before abusing the Great Messenger of the Universe, remember your gods can also be abused by others. Even if all of your gods do not exist we never abuse them bcoz we beleieve that Allah had sent his messengers for the community in every corner of the world and might be those are the illshapped idols of those messengers(Allah knows best).
The game of taking credit and coming to the good books of different political parties have started. Soon money or power would be traded the case would start to linger and after sometime we would forget the whole episode and live happily ever after.
