Modern day Bihar is consist of ancient Magadh, Mihilla, Anga Vaisali and other kingdom which gave the name of India as Golden land Where history run from the time of King Janak and Sita in Ramayan Period. In Mahabharta Period Jarasnadh was the king of Magadh and Karna was the King of Anga desh. Where Empror Ashoka ruled upto border of Afganistan.Whose Emblem of Trimurti is our National Emblem and his Dharma Chakra is majestically occupy the centre of our flag.Where the Nalanda University was situated where 10,000 student were studied at a time.Another reputed university Vikramsila was situated near present day Bhagalpur.Where Buddha got enlishtment.Where Arya Bhatt was born.In fact this is a cradle of our Civilization .Where Chankaya, Candragupta Mourya was born. After the Mugal invasion and subsequently by English the glory of this enchanted land has deminished. Then came the independence and lewed politician has done all the damage. After the independence atleast 10 years or so this state of Bihar was the best govern sate of India. Then caste politics spoiled it all.Hope it will emarge again . And will found its lost glory.

Mr. This is bad to fight with words. If you don't understand to love your countrymen. Then it's not yours fault .This is fault of our system. In a game like cricket we are not up to international standard becuase of the people like you never understand value of unity. Shame to us.We love our country so we should love our country men. Hate culture is bad for you and me.Learn from past and walk ahead not backward.Even though you don't try to understand then God knows what will happen to you and your community.

patil sahab, kabhi aap mumbai se pune safar kar ke dekhiye general compartment men. There are guys who moves between pune and mumbai daily. And they are so rude and indisciplined that even in unreserved compartment their seats are booked.and anybody who is unaware of this seats on their seats he is thrown out of the running train. Please enquire about this and yr eyes will be opened. Thousands of throwing incidences has happened. I am not ridiculing yr state.I love it because I have studied there. But one should not put his eyes shut on own faults and also one should not be so hatred-full to particular community without a reason.

REALLY, BIHAR LACKS IN CERTAIN QUALITIES,BUT IT IS NOT MOST BACKWARD. ACTUALLY PEOPLE HERE ARE OF BETTER MORAL
ONLY EDUCATION WILL IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND GOVT. MUST ENACT A COMPULSORY EDUCATION SYSTEM AT LEAST UNTIL 10TH STD. THIS WILL ALSO REDUCE THE ETHNIC VOILENCE.

I guess most of the people messaging and passing their time here are all highly educated... But look at the lack of responsibility they exhibit and the shear hatred they spew out on others... Dalits on Brahmins, Others on Biharis, 'Engligh knowers' on 'not so well versed with English' etc etc... Grow up dude.. nothing would change unless our attitude changes... Education alone, and definitely our education systems education alone would not make any big difference...
It is nice to read the article. If India/Bihar want to progress with education is the way. What Nitish Govt is doing in Bihar to promote school education should have been done since independence. All expediture for construction of new classrooms should directly be done by villagers and teachers jointly and not by PWD. Also teachers should also be directly made responsible to villagers. Keep it up Bihar.

Bihar can regain its glory. We only need rule of law. India is Shining, why bihar will lack behind? Give it some rule of law & social security. It will shine too.

Aap bahut ache ho Vikrant bhai. Varna aapke Mah ke baaki log gaali de rahe hain shuru se.
Kya galti karte hain jab yahan rozi ke liye aate hain hum to?
Why we need to travel 60 km from patna to find out good school? That school is fine but what about my mohalla school where three schools are running in two ROOMS(reported by hindustan, patna on 27-3-2007 page3). It was sad to read some arguments on discussion board. Accept the fact which is applicable to our country and not only for Bihar that we have not utilised the human resources of our country. For example China has 5laks vocational tranning institute where we got only 11 thousand. In China there are 18 laks schools but we are satisfied with only 9 laks 70 thousand only. This is mere number,we must see the quality. Forget fighting and try to make education the biggest issue. We must concerned about the growing complexes among students and the huge gap between the so called 'good schools' and 'bad schools'. On the one hand there are lacks of children who are unable to receive primary education, hence we can barely expect anything from them, and on the other there are those well educated children who might grow up to become high ranked officials and hold important posts. Unfortunately though, we cannot expect much from these people too. The educated commit bigger crimes than the uneducated. They take bribes and are involved in huge scams, as if its education that had provided them with the skills to become better criminals! Thus we find that both the educated and the uneducated fall in the same category, something that is strictly unacceptable in a society.%u201CBacche man ke sacche, we are all aware of this beautiful song. We believe that every child is born pure, with no hatred and ill feelings against anyone but growing up in this society, he begins to change and shed that childhood innocence. He starts differentiating himself from others and moulds himself according to the existing system. He becomes a part of the system, only to find out later that the system he belonged to was a corrupt one. He tries to change himself once again and might be successful in doing so...........but what about the 'system'? Who will change the system? Isn't everyone suffering because of it? It is our duty to try to change the system so that no one else suffers because of it in the future. We need to have schools and quality tranning in school so that we can have statesman coming after completing their education, not white collar criminals.

I am from Patna and now working in Mumbai. I was in tears reading this article. Very well presented. I always used to fight with people who used to critisize Bihar without proper knowledge. Although being one of the most intelligent and hardworking at my workplace and college I was always looked down. By best regards to those who have written this article. THEY MADE ME FEEL PROUD. I circulated this articles among all my friends... Keep up the good work...

I feel as a wall has to side bihar is also not as fruity & Juicy. Yaa it has also some drawback like population, illitracy & health problem. The development scenario in bihar is far away as compare to gujarat or other state.

Hey u should not think like that; I m also from Bihar and worked at delhi, mumbai, goa, bangalore and now in Europe .. but i never felt like down or something like that.well I would like to remind you that after every day there is a night and after every night there is day. This is the rule of nature. If you look back into history India had three university Taksshila,Nalanda and Vikramshila . Out of the 3 two(Nalanda and Vikramshila) was in Bihar only.Bihar was the centre of education in Asia that time .The condition of Bihar will definitly improve.Any way you should be proud of as a Bihari.. now also if u will look at the no. of IITian/IAS .. Bihari are far ahead .

Binodji, I completely agree with your views but my question is how we can take the country to path of rapid progress when it is ruled by such a high degree of corrupt politicians. Do not forget that development in our country is directly controlled by political class. The need of the hour is we need to elect honest and hardworking people into Cabinet. There should be a movement or an organisation which should play key role in educating people on how to elect good leaders, specially in states like UP and Bihar. Now time has come where we need mass movement to dethrone these corrupt and dishonest politicians and beurocrats.
