Attack on police
by Soumit Manindra Banerjee on Mar 17, 2007 11:34 AM  Permalink

Dear somnath
You are very much right that there is no party in west bengal to overthrow LF from W.B. Mamata had a chance during NDA rule but she missed it.Except that I beleive you are speakig what is being taught in Ganashakti or L.C. office. PL.except the real fact that the CPM goodas killed the BUPC people with the help of the Police. Crime must pay and it will be very soon.

This country does not need it's poor anymore
by subhash sirur on Mar 16, 2007 09:59 PM  Permalink

My heart bleeds for the people of Nandigram and Singur. The fields are flooded with their 'RED'blood. The communists were supposed for the poor,by the poor. They threw out all the industries in the last 30 years.Suddenly,Budhadeb Bhattacharya found a new love of SEZ.Maybe new love for all that is materialistic.New love for the people of WB.
Maybe the marxist govt needs money for the party and the office bearers. What better way than to take the lands of the poor and make money. If the central govt and other states can do it,why not west bengal. Why are people not taking Mr.Kamal Nath to task. How is Reliancce been offered land on a platter by Punjab,Haryana and Maharashtra.Give and take has been the motto of big industrialists and the politicians.Let us wish away the poor. There is no place for them in this country. This country is only for politicians, goons, goons in police uniforms, dalals and brokers in all categories of business, some of them very old.Where is the transparency in acquistion of lands from the farmers? Why this cloak and dagger game being played by the WB chief Minister.

Who is fueling the fire??
by Vinay Naga on Mar 16, 2007 08:38 PM  Permalink

The entire drama seems to be run by the political parties. While the state government hides behind lawlessness as an excuse to cover up what they are doing, the opposition too is playing a dirty game by instigating and firing passion in the protestors.
In the process its the people who get hit the most... its time the people realise that they are being played with by political parties. Acting responsibily and letting things cool down will bring things in order. Getting influenced and led by political parties (who will try to maximise the effects for their gain) will only worsen the situation.

My dear abhai,

You are not aware about the socio-political structure of WB. In three decade of rule all most 90% of the police personnel in lower level and PS level are communist party cadre. Communist govt. in WB captured total govt. machinery and every part of this machinery is occupied with Cadre of Communist parties.
This the one of the reason why police behave so ruthlessly. There are also some reports that communist party gundas were involved in firing too. That is the reason behind this hate for police.

Mr.Prakash, may be what you are saying is correct. At the same time, this is also true that the Nandigram massacre was not triggered only by police and Communist cadres but also the naxals and the trinamool supporters were actively involved in the process. Frankly speaking, the hatred should go against the brtual politics game, where there is no concern for human beings and their welfare but always on the acquisition of power and the wealth/property that comes along its way.

I also do agree with Mr.Bhowmick's comments made above.Who is going to replace the current government in W.B.? Trinamool? Congress? BJP?
Name one single party or person who has credibility and efficiency more than any of the CPI(M) leaders. They are the ones who have ruled for more than 30 years now and they will still rule for years to come, because there is no one in W.B. who can even come within 1000 miles of them in terms of ability, efficiency and vision (our present CM's vision to be more precise). Our CM is a respectable person, no doubt and he definitely has a vision to make Bengal a better place. His way of implementation is wrong at times because he seems to forgt that Rom was not built in a day and takes it takes time to heal the wounds caused to the state by previous leaders. He also has the straightforwardedness to accept his faults and expresses concerns for that also. Show us any other politician in Bengal who does this. Mamata despite her numerous faults and wrong decisions never appears in public to say that she was wrong. With so many Bandhs called by her and the level of harassment caused to common people by her such irresponsibe decisions, does anyone think that she can actually be the head of a state? I guess no.

the nandigram incident is yet another instance of how political parties can do anything (just anything) to get some mileage. there was absolutely no law n order in nandigram for the past few weeks. all the police n administration was doing was 2 bring the peace back. the police had 2 resort to firing bcoz they met with resistance from opposition who were brainwashed into thinking that their land would be taken if police entered nandigram. its unfortunate that opposition parties can stoop to such level to rise to power, which they can never do in WB. the opposition is absoultely mindless n disorganized in WB. they dont know wat 2 do n when 2 do. all they want is some more media coverage so that at least some more ppl might just vote for them. they stoop to low levels like brainwashing poor farmers into believing that their land will be taken without being given proper compensation. i wish we wud someday have a thoughtful opposition who wud sometimes serve the poor. its only then that they can get proper support from ppl, n not by hurling crude bombs at police n torching public buses.

Forget about politics. This is plain and simple genocide. And we want perpetrators(Read Budha) of genocide be publicly hanged. We Bengalies just spend too much time about who is supporting Trinamool and CPM. This is the time to weed out this ferocious criminals from public life.
