Hindus under West Bengal
By Animitra Chakraborty
Out of 38 arrested , 11 were alleged of violence. Their domestic lives have become miserable. It is suspected that the political highhandedness of the ruling front has made the police behave insensitively.

I suggest he puts that Siddiqullah inside a jail and Mamata inside a madhouse. You can join either of them.

Lets see why he should resign---
1. He is trying to generate more jobs, thats bad, it should never be done. Bengal should have more closed industries!
2. He is asking people to the talks table, they do not come. This is worse I guess, he should personally go and talk to the opposition leader. After all, the "lady" should be given respect! Doesnt matter if you are the CM!
3. He has openly said no SEZs in nandigram. Now this is worst of all, the opposition then has no agenda! How can that be!They shud atleast have some agenda!

So Mr Buddhadeb, must resign! Given the fact that corrupt, money lenders can stand as CMs in many Indian states.

all these chemical industries being setup in india is because the mncs know that we have the most corrupt politcians, judical system, police machinery in place. in a case of any mishap like bhopal they can just walk away by paying some bribe to budha and guys of his ilk , no one in india bothers about envoirment no judical system will peanlise them , in indian courts only the poor are hanged.

People like these are not even eligible to present a mere statement leave alone a writeup or reaction to a delicate issue. It's a shame. I strongly react to the view. It's disgraceful.

The exception is not the rule.
Bengal has great sons.daughters - Rabindranath , Vivekananda, Ramkrishna, Amartya Sen, Satyajit Ray, Jhumpa Lahiri and quite a few others.

But she has also produced Mamata - and many many more hot headed- blind - egocentric - emotional idiots. Otherwise, how do you account for the anti-computer agitation of the 1990s? How do you account for the anarchy of Naxalism? How do you account for the 30 year stint by one party - how do you believe in Communism - when it is proved that the philosophy doesnt work?? Why does the likes of Kabir Suman believe in Communism - and why do people in bengal call such stupidity - intellectualism.

Come on answer that...Losers

Talking about intellectualism, I should say that Bengal produced the highest number of such individuals who are truly world class, be it arts, cinemas, sports, science, music etc. than all other states combined. Think before you speak. If you have guts speak out which community you belong to? All the non-bengalis think and speak business. The problem with them is they cannot take it lightly when they cannot do business as they want in Bengal and vent their anger against everything Bengali. Bengal does not need people like you. You are welcome to leave bengal.

How do you account for incident sof sati in rajasthan, gujarat and MP? how do you account for caste based killings in UP and Bihar?
How do you account for the insane adulation of filmstars and total corruption of politicians down south? or the distrust and hatred of the kashmiris and north eastern people towards rest of India?
Buddha babu is a sane man with great ideas and a vision,he may have had problems with implementing them.Mamata is a stupid, mad, narchist who is hell bent upon playing the dirtiest kind of politics.Let the Nandigram issue be resolved without further bloodshed;possible only if both sides show some flexibility.
To understand the 30 year stint, take a look at the bengal congress heads;I shudder to think of Somen Mitra or Adhir Chowdhury as CM.Indira Gandhi had an understanding with Jyoti Basu the smae way she had with MGR.She would see to it that Jyoti Basu/MGR will stay in power at the state level by keeping third grade people at the helm of these state units. In return,Jyoti Babu/MGR will support her at the center directly or indirectly. This way,she gets to eleminate challenges coming up from her party and also gets the desired support. If Jyoti Babu died earlier than Mrs.Gandhi, the communists wouldn't have lasted 30 years.
and who's bothered with an idiot like Kabir Suman? AP has Gadar,Gujarat has Medha Patkar--even they are called intellectuals?
If Naxalism is so stupid and idiotic, why is it now the biggest movement in India which has been termed the biggest security threat to India by our PM?mind you, naxalism in this form is not a contribution of bengal,it has started basically from AP.I am totally anti-naxalite,but if this movement which is actualy beig done by very poor backward people is gaining so much momentum, the conditions must be terrible enough for people to take up arms.
It has been proved that communism does not work but the countries that have dismantled communism aren't doing any great even after 20 years.

The transition of India from the dark, middles ages of muslim rule is known as the renaisance. This renaissance started in Bengal.Behind every industrialisation(Swmai Vivekananda inspired Jamshedji Tata to setup TISCO,the first large scale heavy engineering works were taken up by Sir R.N.mukherjee),every social reform movement (Raja Rammohan roy got the practice of Sati banned,Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar started child and widow re-marriage,not to mention Swami Vivekananda who proved to the world that we are not a land of uncivilised savages but an ancient civilised race) to movies(Satyajit Ray-only indian to have won a lifetime achievement Oscar),literature(Tagore's 'song offerings' and subsequnet nobel prize showed the world that our literary and aestheitic senses were second to none),economics(the curent index of the World Bank and IMF is based largely on developmenal economics--a subject brought forward by Prof. Amartya Sen) "stupid ass" bengalis are everywhere.Pre-Independence,the British shifted the political capital to Delhi and post Independence, leaders at the center marginalised Bengal by shifting the financial centers to Bombay. The 1947 partition followed by 1971 war led to massive inflow of population and the infrastructure of Bengal broke down completely. A person who doesn't know the above facts may be excused for ignorance, after all,we see ignorant idiots all over the place. But,to bray like a donkey without knowing is simply unfathomable.

Once people started falling couldn't the police have dtopped and taken stock of the situation?

State Sponsored Terrorism
by abhijeet dasgupta on Mar 15, 2007 02:45 PM  Permalink

This is a classic case of state sponsored terrorism. The facts is - the left front government has become arrogant, insane, insensitive and cruel. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The CPI(M) cannot stand any opposition. If there is a whiff of miniscule opposition by a few villagers who want to stick to their only means of livelihood, the government/CPI(M) is going to kill them. That is the message they wanted to convey and they have done it successfully. My friends - I believe most of you belong to the middle and upper middle classes, aren\'t you ashamed that such murder of democracy is taking place in our own country? We the middle class is going to benefit from industrialisation, that is true. But is it worth the blood of poor peasants of Nandigram and Singur? Does it justify the petty gains we dream of in the name of industrialisation?

Shifting of Power
by Ghochu Singh on Mar 15, 2007 02:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

According to me shifting of power in W.Bengal is
almost impossible as CPM's cadre cum Gundaas are
enough strong to handle election matters, but this is strange that last 30 yrs CPM is doing this and Congress / central govt was/is sitting in the audience.
Congress and BJP both shd clarify why both
of them allowed to cont. the gundaraaj of CPM
in W.Bengal for long long time. This is more strange that BJP also not tried to do something
in favour of democracy atleast for eyewash.
How CPM is so strong????????????????????????
