If the culprits are non-muslims, the will be punished. If the culprits are muslims, then they won't be punished.

Yes...you are right.
But that is ourlegacy.
When Bhagat Singh was sentenced to be hanged, for the crime of throwing hand bombs on the parliament which didn't injure any person, our beloved Bapuji-father of present day India did not plead for clemency...the reason being that Bhagat Singh believed in violent means.

When Abdul Hamid - murderer of Swami Shradhanand was sentenced to be hanged, Bapuji pleaded for clemency. He also called the murderer as his 'brother'.
As we're the proud inheritors of beloved Bapuji's thoughts, it is natural that our beloved Mohammedan brother-culprits should be set free.

Life continues....
by Raghavendra Kulkarni on Mar 14, 2007 12:30 PM  Permalink

on a pessimistic note..
1. the case and their involvement will be proven
2. supreme court will give capital punishment
3. NGOs will cry and media will make news
4. these culprits will appeal to the president
5. With due respect to our beloved HH President and to his undoubted patriotism (I mean this), India will wait endlessly, again, for the culprits to be hung..

How to avoid terrorist attack
by chinmoy chatterjee on Mar 14, 2007 11:57 AM  Permalink

This is almost proved that we are unable to stop terrorist attacks on trains/flights etc etc.
According to me we can start an experiment as
hike the train fare by 5% and pay the total amount to scotland yd or any reliable govt detective agency(not Indian) and put them on contract basis to stop terrorist attacks.
If it is possible to reach such contract I am sure 99% terrorist attacks will be decreased.
By this method we wld prove that we are serious abt our citizen's life.
When we will get success in Railway by this way then we can start the same in the other rqrd sectors.
Please comment on it.

by mafiz alam on Mar 14, 2007 11:51 AM  Permalink

have US ever faced any terror attck after 911?? no ..not at all..the reason is very simple, their police and administration are not efficient..so we better take training..by the way , culprits should be hanged to death..not hanged he should face the worst death..but innocent should not be punished regardless of the religion...

Whats The Point?
by r k on Mar 14, 2007 11:20 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

In a country where we are still debating whether to hang the person who was instrumental in attack on our parliament (proved in the court of law with substantial evidence) hurting India%u2019s pride, why are we even dreaming that culprits behind the train blast shall be punished. Its all an eyewash%u2026%u2026%u2026.

by ismail shaik on Mar 14, 2007 11:13 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The matter is still under investigation stage. How can action be taken against the suspects? Though charge is very serious in nature but it has to be established (ismailsk)

Samjhauta Express blasts: 2 held in Indore
by Ramachandra A N on Mar 14, 2007 11:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What is their crime? Stitching a cover for a suitcase? They would have done it as they do it for any customer without knowing that there would be bombs inthe suitcase later. Furhter regarding sale invoices ? isn't it a joke to ask for documents for sales from small time shops?
Perhaps, this may only for eye wash.
In the game of chess, it is the innocent and non consequential pawns who can never turn back where as all others can turn and vanish. It has happened here.

Hero... think of that... they might remember who had asked them to stitch it.. that gives clues... now stop lamenting and let them do their job..

I agree that this is nonsense... While it is true that they can provide clues as to who bought suitcases from them, the point is... WHY DO THEY NEED TO BE ARRESTED? The police is only making them more uncomfortable - as if they have committed any crime.

It doesn't appear that they had stitched the suitcase with bombs in it. The police should make them comfortable and let them remember who they gave the suitcase to. Instead they are looking for scapegoats.

As far as records of customers is concerned, HOW DOES THE POLICE EXPECT SUCH SMALL ENTERPRISES AS SUITCASE COVER STITCHERS TO KEEP CUSTOMER RECORDS? Does the police have to be taught the difference between the organised and unorganised sectors?

I also want the real culprits caught but with this kind of exercise, I don't think progress is being made in the right direction.
