very sad to see & read it.I feel the Bill which has been passed would be of little help. It would help the mothers monetarily, but will they get the love from their children? Very touching article by rediff. I would make it a point to contribute & also meeting the people staying at Vishranti.
How can someone think of even doing this? How can anyone throw their parents out of their house? They should remember, the same thing shall happen to them in future.
A mother undergoes many sufferings in carrying a child for 9 months and even during the process of bringing it into the new world. Its very well said that its like a re-birth for her. She will put her life before her kids to save her kids at any cost.
I remember some one saying...just because god cannot be there with everyone...he created mothers. Its very true. A mom shall always want the well being of her kids. Even if it means they throwing her out.
When people illtreat such angels...its like ill-treating gods themselves. No matter how educated or how religious or how wealthy or how powerful they are...the moment they throw their parents out...a place is reserved for sure for them in HELL. They shall rot in Hell...They shall realize their folly soon....the day is not far, when they shall meet the same treatment at the hands of their kids.
My best wishes to the vishranthi and other such organizations for their wonderful job. You people are really great!!!

Sad to read that how parents are treated by their own kids. Well, Those who can't respect their own parents, how can he/she respect anyone else...??? Hope their kids act sensibily & sensitivily towards their parents. GOD bless...!!!
There should be many more Savithri Vaithi's and many more Vishranthis' in India as we are already in 21st Century! It is very important for every individual to set an example and be a model for his or her child. Trust your parents with loving care; you know not know their value until you see their empty chair.
Since I am NRI I know thing like this will be come common as the indian economy will grow.. Put people should not let this happen...parents are important they can also take care of ur children so you wont need babysitters for ur kids..they play vital ROLE in the SOCIAL stability of this country... AMERICAN AND CANADA dont have values like india there for their divorce rate is 56% and kids dont know who their parents and grandparents are

but in india even when kids know that who are their parents, are they really taking care of them when they become old? i wonder from where one can learn to respect their parents. in islam it is said that dont even say "uf" while serving your parents when they become old and you start thinking as they are burden to you. man made rules and laws cant be that effective. we need something divine so that people will have fear that even if they are not caught they will be punished by God.
After a longtime Rediff has brought in a topic so touching. Its so sad to see the situation people go through in their oldage. No law can mend the problem they have with thier loved ones. Its a sincere request to all the young people of this world, respect your parents since they are the sole reason why you exist in this world. In the quest for moving ahead in life we are parted from our parents at times but it doesnot shed off our responsibilty towards them.Kudos to the rediff team for this article!!
It is very sad indeed! A very few from the NGOs' who visit these people who once enjoyed the richness in life now destined to spend their rest of life in a 'Dharamshala' which is financed either by their own funds or charities. If they have their own funds, they are lucky. THIS IS THE EFFECT OF FAST CATCHING UP WITH THE WESTERN CULTURE. WE ARE OVERTAKING THEM IN THIS CATEGORY! There is story of an old parent who was admitted in an old age home. The only thing the son allowed him was a blanket he was using. On reaching the old parent told his son, SON TAKE THIS BACK, YOU WILL NEED IT WHEN YOUR SON REACHES YOU TO THE SIMILAR OLD AGE HOME. BOTH WEPT and rest is for our own consumption! WELL IT IS HIGH TIME THE GOVERNMENT ADOPTS SOCIAL SECURITY FOR SENIOR CITIZENS ABOVE 70. At 71, most of us will have ZERO bank balance. We have to cry out to GOD to take us up!
I would like to sponser a Mom by sending the annual amount by Bank Transfer in India. Rediff please provide it as well as the email id of the Trust so that I can establish a contact. Regards to all.
