Abandoned by their own!
by Patrick Mascarenhas on Mar 07, 2007 08:22 PM

It is very sad indeed! A very few from the NGOs' who visit these people who once enjoyed the richness in life now destined to spend their rest of life in a 'Dharamshala' which is financed either by their own funds or charities. If they have their own funds, they are lucky. THIS IS THE EFFECT OF FAST CATCHING UP WITH THE WESTERN CULTURE. WE ARE OVERTAKING THEM IN THIS CATEGORY! There is story of an old parent who was admitted in an old age home. The only thing the son allowed him was a blanket he was using. On reaching the old parent told his son, SON TAKE THIS BACK, YOU WILL NEED IT WHEN YOUR SON REACHES YOU TO THE SIMILAR OLD AGE HOME. BOTH WEPT and rest is for our own consumption!
WELL IT IS HIGH TIME THE GOVERNMENT ADOPTS SOCIAL SECURITY FOR SENIOR CITIZENS ABOVE 70. At 71, most of us will have ZERO bank balance. We have to cry out to GOD to take us up!
