Every message I have read here speaks blatantly about how the BMC has failed each year. How many of us really know the facts about Mumbai City that we need to know before we teach others what to do? No doubt there is corruption, lack of funds, infrastructure etc etc etc and it goes on......... The main thing is that Mumbai is a city at sea level, not really meant to be a city in the first place. The main city was just seven islands. What you see today at Churchgate beyond the station was actually the sea shore. What we have inherited today as Mumbai City is there for everyone to see. Migration and influx of money has bought about blatant violation of the city's resources. The city was never planned to meet the demands of the huge population that it caters to today. If ever there was a need to plan, it should have been planned from the year 1947 or latest by 1980. But what the government did was to act blind to the smooth land grabbings by the so called slums and slumlords. The only reason not to fight against that would be "violation of human rights". But what we do now is give the same people free homes, the so called Slum redevelopment scheme.... So in a way it is like, come rob my house and i will give you roasted chicken for dinner. Absolute lack of planning here too... But If you are still living in this city is because you love the city like no other when it is not raining. Isnt it? So in a way if you want to stay here, live with the problems or keep compla

It is true that our dwelling places are much compacted with people, bounded by concrete walls. Along with population control, immigration control, one most important thing to be done is consumption control. Always try to scale your sorroundings with natural habitat, not with USA, Saudi or England. We have become so obcessed with material development that we have forgotten to save nature gifted pure air, potable water and unadulterated healthy food. Instead to achieve undesirable artificial development we are keeping this biological systems in non-compatible concrete and plastic sorroundings. To get basic elements of life (air, water & food), we should inculcate to reestablish multi-tier hetero vegetation both on farm lands and urban sorroundings. We should stop hated towards nature and undesirable affinity towards arrogantly created artificial habitats. All wise people should start allocating at least 75% of our owned land under multi-tier vegetation and 25% only and hardly under concrete slabs or pavings. This will allow soil to absorb, store and supply water incessantly.
Same old story of deception and broken promises. The public are fools and money has been swallowed and history repeats itself! Imagine the plight of slum dwellers? Why were the bureaucrats and politicians sleeping?

In absence of results, all the top officers of B.M.C., M.M.R.D.A., and M.H.A.D.A. are incapable of delivery of goods and miserably failed in the discharge of their duties to the public due to which the public is put to terrible miseries years together!
They are placed at top positions like commissioners, chair men and managing directors., etc., with fat salaries and several other amenities and facilities like air conditioned offices, cars and many others. They are of no use for which they were given out of the public tax amounts that are paid by the public with much of woes!
The tax amounts collected by B.M.C., etc., are highest and their income is highest than even Government of India. They are all looted by the respective contractors in connivance with the respective top officers!
All the officers from commissioners down to ward officers and below who are most corrupt should be immediately sacked means dismissed from service denying their other facilities and also their residences and offices along with their relatives places should be immediately raided to find their movable and immovable with a view to recover the wealth that is not supported by any known sources of income!
They should be immediately placed under detention prosecuting them for failure to discharge their duties!

I do wonder from the above reply, if there is an Anyan; a tamil super hit movie, starring Vikram the movie that was a rage in India that brought out the latest frusterations of millions of Indians struggling and sinking against corruption, in this discussion forum?

will you please stop your sattire stuff! Instead go around and find for self what pathetic state they are in !
You dirt & mud made fools can wonder anything else?

They should be immediately placed under detention prosecuting them for failure to discharge their duties!
The budget of utilities like B.M.C etc., should be drastically reduced as the excess is not going for public service but into the pockets of top officers and staff in connivance with the contract world! Perhaps, the politicians responsible should also be proceeded against! Public tax should be drastically reduced!
If these are not immediately carried out Bombay public cannot be any more silent witness to such TAMASHA year after year! THIS IS A STERN WARNING FROM PUBLIC!
Hi everyone, last January i toured whole India and was not happy at what i saw in the cities. people intentionally dirtying up their surroundings. I saw New Delhi and how it is kept clean and i saw old Delhi and it is an entirely different story. What i say is that if the government can force cleanliness laws in New Delhi, than why not the entire state and entire India. I visited the great Himalayas in HP and was speechless in adoring its beauty. But i had this to say to my family.... %u201CThank God, the masses haven't reached here". I believe we all, every one of us, are to blame for this. We all should first start our cleanliness at home. So please, let us all initiate a campaign, to have an improved and clean India, i know this is a very huge task, but let%u2019s start now and may b in 10 or 20 years we will have CLEAN VILLAGE, A CLEAN TOWN, A CLEAN CITY AND A CLEAN INDIA.

Clenliness is only possible where consumption explosion is under control. That is consumption of concrete, plastic, and metals. This is possible if try to to concentrate much on purifying air, harvesting potable water and producing unadulterated food, through more planting, less manufacturing and least mining. At last we are biological systems, not robots created by indeterminate scientific conclusions.

we always cannot blame BMC for water loggin... no doubt they dont do their work to the fulest extent... they are lazy and need money and bribe.. but at the same time.. see the population... water loggin is due to sewage collected, slums, illegal construction.... BMC wale saaf bhi kitna kare.... High tide and low tide also affects water drainage in gutter.... and if there is so much rain then we can expect some water logging to... So called developed country US gets submerged under water with little rain.... but our local trains keep on running with that rain... appreciate that too.. we are rarely affected with heavy rains.... but no doubt BMC has to do their work too giving 100%

Mr. Pawan Sharda please note that Bombay pays highest tax to B.M.C etc., which perhaps is evident that they go into the pockets of some politicians, top officers and many staff members!
The budget of B.M.C. and other utilities concerned should be cut down drastically so that Tax collected from public can be reduced much to ensure the works are carried out without corruption with contractors! Contractoers are the huge sourse of corruption behind whom the officials take shelter to siphon out public tax money

Mr Gautam I agree as i mentioned earlier too... BMC workers are lazy and corrupted and do not do their work on time... but my point is look at their point of view... dont you think Mumbai public throw their garbage in open, throw plastic bags in gutter and thus there are choking problems... let us be good civilians and keep the city clean... we never see our faults... once BMC officer said correctly.. rich people take their pets for walk and make them shit anywhere and expects BMC workers to clean it and says mumbai is not clean...
