ziyang zemin the ex-prenier of china said that china will be ready for democracy in 2060. he said that we dont want to be rushing towards democracy right now. when we are matured and improve economic standard for all chinese then we will go for democracy. it seems china is heading for democracy in future, while india may be heading for communist or dictator rule in future due to steep rise in unemployment.

Propaganda

These is a part of the propaganda war which the americans have waged against India and other countries in Asia. The americans always want to create an atmosphere of confusion, distrust and enimity among countries, so that cab sell their ideas, views, weapons etc. I don't understand why Rediff India publishes this kind of articles. Indo-China war was a military exercise, NOT A WAR or BLUNDER.

Arun,

Why don't you commie B--Turds learn to get you head out of your politburo behinds!!

Your conception was a "military exercise" where your father had to gain territorial rights over your mothers private areas to conceive a commie swine like you!!

You traitor, our brave soldiers died defending their country in that WAR!

Do you even know what a Military exercise is?

Why the hell are you living in India? Why don't you go and live with your real Chinese father?!!

http://www.centurychina.com/plaboard/uploads/1962war.htm just read this link i hope it will clear all doughts abt 1962 war .in fact it was not a war but foolishness of our political leadership who were living in fools paradise and thinking that chinese would not react at all.and with far inferior army trying to fought war with a large superior and heviely equiped army.our army at that time was using world war 1 rifle and also our army didnt had any war experience also a headed by mr koul who was just a fool without any experience of war .no militry intelligence was operational at that time also there was no arms or ammunation was available.our troops were fighting without even proper cloths many got killed due to bad weather as they dint have proper cloths .and abt chinese agression it was more a situation where a weaker person was challenging a world champion to fight .at end of war govt order was just to widraw from boarder coz our army was no match to chinese .and what ever govt history say it was not a chinese agression but a foolishness of nehru and menon ( then defence minister)our history is twisted in such a way that we all made to think that our coutry was attacked by chinese we were not ready to fight as we were supporting peaceful existence with china but fact is that our leadership mistaken china as a weak and thought our army greatest army without equiping it properly .the only gud thing that came out after 1962 was less popularity of nehru and complete change in

The article seems to have been written by an illiterate, a lot of spelling mistakes, missing words and incomplete sentences. This article was simply unreadable.
Most of the messages posted in the discussion board do not have any relevance to the topic in discussion. This kind stupid ramblings by people with time to waste do not contribute to the discussion at all. I suggest rediff should have a moderator who screens the messages not only for abuse / slander etc but for also for their content and relevance.

Some time ago ,there was a supercilious man who believed that everything that others did was foolish and he would condescend to give everybody a suggestion on everything .He thought he was intelligent than everyone else and made them shut up .

His name was Nehru and this country pays dearly for that still .

You are behaving exactly like him .So why dont we start with you on the irrelevant and shutting up part.

harder way for freedom
by kalyan ram on Jun 30, 2007 12:22 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

the countries that achieved their freedom the harder way progressed well in this modern era. the americans achieved their freedom through harder way way back in 1776 in a bloody war britishers. the french revolution, russian revolution, chinese revolution. we indians got our freedom through peaceful and non-violent movements. fine. we had two choices for achieving of freedom the non-violent movement by gandhi and milaitary offensive by subhash chandra bose. our bad luck the latter one failed but it had instilled britishers with fear that another military revolution is on the cards. also the britona sufferred immensely from second world war and are in no mood to control a large country like india. america and soviet russia had emerged as new super powers as a result of second world war. the briish super power status finally waned and gave india freedom. i doubt if second world war didnt happenned will the britishers ever had granted india freedom?...i think no....should we have to thank adolf hitler for starting second world war resulting in waning of british power and thereby resulting in indian freedom?.....what your say?....

CIA is always too far from us!
by santosh satpathy on Jun 30, 2007 12:11 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Its completely immature and foolhardy to think that people like Gandhi or Nehru were saints or demigods who cant make mistakes in their life.Tell me the name of any leader whose hast commited blunders in their life. But the world consider persons great leaders of their time for what they did for their country irrespective of their failures.Inability to predict or stop chinas invasion was a grear blunder worse than his kashmir mistake, but its a military failure for a nation who got its freedom just 15yrs ago ,busy with building its nation trusted its bigger and mightier neighbour. Its betryal on part of china after which we were forced to build our military power to save our face 1965 war.In world polictic betrayals do happen all the time ,e.g Pearl Harbour by Japan in WW2 or recently Kargil by pakistan after Lahore bus ride by Bajpayee where we losr 500 of ur brave men within our own territory.Nehru had many vices, but still history will judge him as a great leader with achivements like puting the foundation of a democracy, building industry like Steel, large dam(most of them bulid during his time),Nuclear infrastructure ,Isro,IIts,IIms
and many more.Lets not be blind worshippers at the same time lets not ungrateful people.I just want lets know more about our great leaders before reaching any conclusion, but pls avoid soureces like CIA.

I know it can be very easy to be a arm chair historian but Nehru does deserve a significant share of the blame for both the external troubles this country faces today .

He wanted to prove that he was a statesman by taking the Kashmir issue to UN and trusted the chinese too much and had given a carte blanche to arrogant Krishna Menon to play with army which lead to the total lack of preparedness .

History is always right and according to it Nehru was always wrong

I think we should just believe in what we are today rather than looking at some CIA report. What is tha guarantee that they are speaking the truth???

Whatever he may have done before , building the diplomats ,giving marathon speeches at UN pale into insignificance compared to the defeat our country suffered because of his arrogance and encouragement of sycophancy in the Indian army .

On the balance sheet ,harm brought out by him far exceeds his good deeds

So what other source should we trust ? We can see that the old fool Nehru died broken hearted because of the defeat .Do you want us to trust the grand daughter in laws and grand sons of the Nehru family to provide us the truth ? What information have they provided about the war than white washing it with a simple 'chinese betrayal' concept

Until the Henderson Brooks report is declassified we have to go with the CIA report and I am pretty sure it is true .

Every school kid in the country will study about how vijayalaxmi pandit addressed the UN general assembly in their text books but they will not even hear about the radio speech Nehru made during the war which was really a farewell speech to people of North Eastern states .

Nehru is a great leader only because he is made out to be so . He is more on the lines of Mao and Lenin who developed personality cults

Since you are an internet user , I feel that you should do a google search before you ask a question .

Anyways this is symptomatic of how our governments have successfully kept the cover on the report . The below text from Wiki may be helpful

The Henderson Brooks-Bhagat report, also referred to as the Henderson Brooks report, is the report of an analysis (Operations Review) of the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Its authors are officers of the Indian armed forces. They are Lieutenant-General Henderson Brooks and Brigadier P S Bhagat, commandant of the Indian Military Academy at the time.

The report continues to be classified by the Indian Government, as of October 2006 .

The report is said to be openly critical of the Indian political and military structure of the time, as well as of the execution of operations.

Author Neville Maxwell has published what he claims are summaries of the report
. While this has not been verified by comparisons with the (still classified) text, it has been accepted as a reasonable summary by the Indian media.

Yes Poli,

There are such "parties" depending on your definition of (and intention with) 'reliable' and 'truth'!!

And there lies the problem with 'recorded' facts. Facts can be recorded based on what occurred but the intentions underlying the events are always .... yes always!! ..... open to interpretation!!
