Soniaji and Pratibha Patil will take india to greater heights. BJP ruined the country in their rule. Bihari, advani and other goons of BJP and RSS amassed large amounts of money and stashed them in the St. Kitts bank. As long Soniaji is their, the political system will be stable. Remove Soniaji from the scene and the oldest party, Congress will collapse. BJP has proved that it is totally incompetent to rule the country.

It is not the BJP ,it is the Congress Party which ruled more than 50 years are the root cause of Corruption,Black Money, hawala money,.Now they are dividing the people on the basis of cast ,religion. Now they are protecting Afjal Guru to appease Muslims.
I strongly suspect the act of choice of Pratibha Patil as the Presidential candidate is the handiwork of some black sheep in disguise of influential members of Indian National Congress, guiding Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, sabotaging Sonia Gandhi's reputation and also to malign the valued name of Indian National Congress to ensure that both are cleared out of Nation's prominanece to help their own objective by defeat of both in the future!
Politicians should be debarred from election of President as they don't translate the real aspirations of the maasses and people of the Nation! This a huge blot on democracy as a President of a Nation has to be directly elected only by the People of Nation themselves!

Dear Galaxy, I agree. Since the Constitution does not empower the President, we the people should directly elect him/her and give citizen's power. The voice of the people is nation's real power.
Is such a domination of dirty politics a sign of its instinct to serve the nation or to sustain amassing wealth by intruding into deliberations of Nation? People certainly are of the right answer from their keen observation all along!

Dear Galaxy, You are again true. Protecting the UP Chief Minister from possible prosecution, the Governor has indirectly violated the code of conduct of fair election. UP CM was both forced and obliged to support Congress nominee.
A profeeeor of chemistry spelt when I was a student under him,"Only those who are most unsuccessful in any field meritoriously choose politics as their career!" I don't know whether that is right in a large number of cases! He also furthere stated"Most of the politicians are scoundrels" I don't know how far is this too right! However, I am sure that lots of filth and dirt precipitate in present politics at least during the Presidential election when eminence is distinctly discarded! Politics vehemently prefers to a class of lesser accomplisment, if at all any! But, this is a distict blot that is carried on by politics due to its powerful might against wish of the people!Past history shows such force could not thrive for long! People won't forget!
Very informative article. We need more Media people like you in this country.
This depicts the clear picture why morons are ruling this country and ruining our motherland for their own selfish reason.
How about Ms Patil herself says that he dont want to take part in election by observing the national support for Dr Kalam. Do we still have morality left in our political society?
Lalu/Sharad/Sonia/CPI will respond to me...Morality...now whats that?
Forget the Presidential one, even our normal election processes are deceitful. There are thousands of small parties, formed on local issues mainly. There is a lot of division of votes based on caste and religion politics. Bribery is ample to get votes. Distribution of money one day earlier to the election date can turn votes elsewhere. Congressmen like Pranab Mukherjee take people for granted. They get elected by marginal votes. Many a time, the percentage of votes an elected candidate gets is less than the average votes. MLA's like this come together and form a government. If they are not in majority, they take the crutches of other small parties to form it, even by means of horse trading, and gloriously call it as a coalition. So another party, even if it gets more seats, cannot form a government. And then the government formed by several minor parties coming together is labeled as peoples' government though majority of people have not voted for such government to form. Majority is suppressed and minority rules. They will elect a Rashtrapati sometimes because the person is from the minorities, sometimes because it is from a scheduled caste, sometimes because it is a woman, many a time in return of some favours that person has done to the ruling party, but not because the candidate is liked by all the people! NDA government was formed of decent & educated people and that is why they chose APJ Abdul Kalam as a president, whose stature had been far above any dispute or dis
It's a pity to see the behaviour of all these politicians towards one of the most respected and renowned scientists of India. Look at the language Laloo and Pawar used against him which proves that till this day they haven't learnt to treat a person of Kalam's stature with dignity. Well, what else can you expect from these illiterate bunch of morons. Hope people of India kick these idiots out of power in the next elections. The comment made by Pranab Mukherjee reflects that these filthy politicians have turned India into a MOCK democracy. All these pseudosecular parties try all means to appease the minorities. At least now this act of UPA, should be an eye-opener to all the so-called minorities in India. They can see for themselves how the UPA has treated an honorable member from their community. Hope now they realize the true colors of Congress and unite with the masses to dismantle them in the next elections.

bubli you are right abusing a person like APJKALAM and of such a stature doesnt warrant these idiot politicians to stay in power as they donot have any respect for what the 98%of indians are feeling today, these foolish politicians without brains think that indians will forget such an insult to shri kalam, we will and we shall teach these idiots their lesson intheir own way
Are Presidential Elections Valid? This is the most important question that needs to be asked. Instead, the nation is being taken on a merry-go-round by discussing whether it is going to be Rashtrapati or Rashtrapatni, whether Kalam should get the second term, whether Shekhavat will get elected, speculative journalism and betting is in full swing as to who will win in the end. Let us address the real issues. For details see my blog : www.liveinthefuturenow.blogspot.com
Mukerji is an idiot in Congress, do not have any own discretion and for power, he is ready to do any work. If he would have any morality, by this time he should have kicked off congress party. But unfortunately, he do not know the meaning of morality. In his opinion morality means boot licking of the persons who are in power.
