Where is the help of Rs.1500/- per hectare to cotton growers of Vidarbha ? Has it lapsed in trans ?
Last year during the winter session of MAH assembly at NAGPUR, govt has declared a help of Rs. 1500/- per hectare to cotton growers to compensate losses incurred due to mass attack of fungal infection on the cotton crop.
The help amount is yet to be listed out ? Perhaps the goverment must be waiting for the farmers to forget it easily and they can divert the amount elsewhere as they are doing with the irrgation plan layout alotted to vidarbha region!
When that money is going to reach the farmers ? Today, it is the sowing season since mansoon is already onset . It must reach to the needy, when he needs it most i.e. at the time of purchasing the seeds form sowing !
Is there any sensible authority to realise this need ?
We are seeing result of bad, vissionless policies by government since independence.. Either its central government or state. Most of the subsidies go to rich farmers..
We are talking about creating super markets and hyper markets, make friendly policies for them but never do bring in any policy to protect interest of hardworking farmers.. We need to make policies to buy agricultural products at fair price. For example Onions are bought by middlemen from farmers at less than Rs.2 but sold at Rs.10 in market, difference goes to brokers, why can't government setup a cooperative marketing system like they did for Milk.
We have miserably failed in implementing correct policies without any vision.. Most of decisions especially to agriculture are ad-hoc.. No government is interested in them, they still want their votes to come to power.. Political parties are intentionally keeping them poor forever..
Farmes have to improve their attitude when it comes to farming, they need to implement scintific bio-friendly farming methods..
Recently there was a open discussion between government and farmers in Bangalore.. Hope this brings in some relief to the poor farmers..
Anyone who holds land need not be called a farmers like the one AB or AK, they are not farmers in any way, they must be trying to convert their black money to white showing it as agricultural income..

My Friend, if all farmers will become strong, how politicians will mislead them? Ultimately these people vote for them. Like urban population if they are well off, they will never vote for them. Politicians cannot mislead them if they are intellectual.
