Yes Abhinav,

Stick to the discussion on "purification".

Once the whole country is "purified" and cleansed of descendents of rape victims of the many arab invasions throughout history, cases like those of Imrana will be irrelevant!!

Why people goto such temples?
by Prashant on Jun 11, 2007 09:02 PM  Permalink

and then get humiliated?

If the temple authorities have already declared that temple is only for certain group of people why these people goto such temples and make huge issue out of it.

If you really believe in that god, convert to that religion or keep urself off. unnecessary issues.

If the priests are saying they cannot change rules, find a temple of religion that suits ur needs. Eak gadha dusareki khujata hai, dusara gadha pani dalkar use saf karata hai, fir sare gadhe chillane lagate hai are usane apani saaf ki.. its descrimination.

Nation has more important issue to be discussed than this.

Hindu Religion is Tolerant for Criticism
by asokan a on Jun 11, 2007 08:48 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Criticism is well tolerated rather encouraged in Hindu religion and good suggestions are accepted and implemented. So it is just a matter of time the practice of temple purification will disappear. Untouchability in any form should be condemned. The temple priests should desist from discrimination and concentrate on the service of God. Any society based on religious edicts will create hatred and unrest. It will lead to exploitation as we see in many countries. Religion is opium. It is also poison.

All the contributors please note that is NOT "caste" but "religion" that is being discussed. The question is whether a person born to a Christian mother is entitled to perform religious rites in a Hindu Temple. Well, if the temple rules say "No", it is "No"!. All those who oppose temple purification may please fight for entry of all communities into Kaaba and talk thereafter, if ever you succeed. Otherwise, kindly do not engage in verbal duals. Please go to Middle East and see for yourselves as to how you are discriminated against. In fact, when I raised the issue of Kaaba with one Muslim lady, she coolly suggested that I should convert to Islam. Same rule applies here also!! Thanks

Government Creates Controversy in Temple
by A.V.National President on Jun 11, 2007 08:43 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When the temple administration goes in the hands of a secular government, these controversies are bound to happen. How can a secular government decide on the religious issues. Have Government nominated Highly religious personalities to guide them , or have government sought the guidance from the High Religious Traditional Personalities on this issue?

Oh Christians and Oh Muslims! you all are lucky that your Churches and Madarsas are not under government rule. As far as Hindus are concerned the controversies are arising after 2-3 decades of Government control over temples.. in your case if these things happen I am sure the controversies would arise the very next second and the very next second there may cause riots ..

Get your facts right before writing anything here.
1. Yesudas/Jesudas is not a convert. He was always a christian.
2. Temple is Guruvayoor and not Shabarimala.
For your information, in Shabarimala all religions are allowed.
One main diety there is Vavar, Who is a muslim.
3. If Yesudas sang songs for anybody he got paid for it. So it was not outof devotion alone that he sang songs.
4. Yesudas is a great singer and he personally has no problems for not being let into Guruvayoor temple.
Like a true Indian, he says that God is one and Guruvayoorappan is in his heart and he is content.

KJ Jesudas has declared his belief in temple worship. But, he has not converted to Hindu religion. The question of entry of non-Hindus in temples can be discussed. At the same time, we should not mix it up with the popularity of a celibrity singer or a politician or any other well-known personality.Otherwise, it will be just like a commercial ad.

Sree Narayana Guru
by JGN on Jun 11, 2007 08:34 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Our worthy politicians remember Sree Narayana Guru only when it suits them. He had also expressed instructed his followers to desist from producing, selling and consuming intoxicating liquor, but the present day Abkari Contractors are mainly from his community.

Also The Guru had the courage to declare that the idol in the temple established by him was of "Ezhava Shiva" when some brahmins objected to him consecrating the same.

What was the necessity for Mr. Vayalar Ravi and his son to go to Guruvayur temple if he believed in the teaching of his Guru, that is one god for all?

And if the solution was to just obtain a certificate from the Arya Samaj Office at Kozhikode, why they could not have obtained a certificate and avoided all these hassels? Are they trying to fish in trouble waters?

Guruvayur temple is not the property of Brahmins. It is the property of all the Hindus and moreover all the keralites. Those people who believe in Krish should be allowed there as in the case of Sabarimala. It is high time to change the Brahmin rule in Guruvayur
