Dalai Lama's Australia visit
by hem raj jain on Jun 12, 2007 06:55 AM  Permalink

Sub: - India to stop humbug on Tibet and to launch official forum.

Ref: - India under legal obligation towards Tibetans, China & UN.

------------------------

This refers to controversy about visit of Dalai Lama to Australia where China objected Dalai Lama's meeting with Head & Ministers of Government and other political leaders of Australia.

But India's silence on this issue is deafening and India's behavior violates the tenets of International law as given below especially in view of the fact that as per information available on the webs site http://www.tibet.com Dalai Lama is running Tibetan Government in exile on the soil of India at Dharamsala:-

(i)- When India has already accepted Tibet as part of China and when Dalai Lama himself does not seek Tibet's independence then how can India allow Tibetan Government in exile on its soil?

(ii)- Moreover, is the example of Pakistan occupied Kashmir not enough (where possession of territory by Pakistan for the last 60 years is practically irreversible) to enlighten India that similar long possession of Tibet by China is also irreversible?

(ii)- When Dalai Lama himself is reportedly seeking merely 'autonomy' (whatever it may mean to him) where Tibetan culture, language, environment, economical interests etc. shall be preserved then-

(A)- Why is India allowing Dalai Lama to talk any thing beyond this which impinges on China's territorial integrity?

(B)- W

What about Govt. of India

It is high time India should ask China to back off from any reference of ownership in Arunachal Pradesh, and to leave Tibet. How could China trample over another country like Tibet?

They are not like Idiots like us, for no benefit of INdian we gave them refuge and unnecessarily messing with China.... Its not that we fear China, But Whts the logic. Do we give some one refuge by scrwing our self????? Yeah KAHAN Ka Insaaf Hai.....

USA/UK gave refuge to africans because Africa had/has wealth interms of Diamond/Gold/Platinum and all possible natural wealth.

Living the good life
by A Bc on Jun 11, 2007 01:05 PM  Permalink

Ok..so the Dalai Lama is a holy person, etc. But he has been living the pretty good life in D'sala.. And he gets the VIP treatment from the govt...
So, maybe it's time for him to retreat spriritually instead of tripping all around the world (at the taxpayers' expense I'm sure) trying to drum up support for a lost cause... And this Australian incident is symptomatic of the waning support - even washed-up actor Richard Gere can't do much about this...

Hell the decision of Australian PM.
On every front Australians are backing US policy, now, why it is not this time?
Also, we Indian are forgotten that Tibet is integral part of United India.
We have to fight for it with support of world community.

This is the status of mind of the Australian PM. But he is dictating India on the Uranium issue. What a Joke! It is really pathetic to know that the Australian PM is very much way behind on his authority of human rights. We are neighbours of China but we are supporting the cause of Tibetans and we have suffered for it. But Australia is well developed country and it has no reason to tow the line of chinese misadventure in Tibet

Dear Balaji,

Have you ever thought what could be the reason as to why Australia doesn't want to go against Chinese wishes, but takes India lightly?

a) Ofcourse the first concern is economic. WE should also develop such economic muscle, so that others give you the respect that you deserve.

b) Militarily also they are very strong, and in the interest of the nation, they behave and show their body language accordingly. Whereas we are not that strong militarily, and we dont present ourselves in a strong manner in the international arena. The result is nobody takes you seriously. Look at how we deal with Pakistan (like taling to them for peace, sending trains and busses to Pak, etc.), talking to Hurriyat, etc. and see how the Chinest treat Dalai Lama, and how we respect the Hurriyat leaders!?

Its time that we also change our attitude, and learn our lessons from countries like China and Israel, etc.

With best wishes,
V.Srinivasan.

V.Srinivasan.

All the issues u discussed are different. One can't compare Kashmir issue with Palestine ot Tibet. Palestine & Tibet were occupied by powers but Kasmir was merged with India with the will of people. The Hindu King & Muslim Prime Minister both wanted Kasmir as a otomonous terrotery of India.

Offcourse in any deal one can't satisfy 100% people. Pakistan started taking revenge of Bangladesh with us through fiancing unsatisfied people of Kashmir against India.

We treat them nicely beacuse we think they are our people. No Indian can think to wash our kashmiris from Kashmir.

But in palestine & tibet both the power want to wash out the people of the land. so they treat them badly.

Dear Friends, i appreciate your views. But you have to look into the history also, when the struggle for freedom of young students in Tinamanen Square ended in a great massacre, the world leaders just pumped their condemnations and then slept on it. but when the Indian army fights the terrorists in Indian Held Kashmir (thats how i have to say now) there is large hue and cry and accusations of violation of human rights. Please let me know one incidnet in China or in Australia or even in USA as to what action those govts have taken in case of such an alleged violation of human rights. When blacks were beaten to death by white police man in US (which we all saw in the TV clippings) their Govt just suspended them and what is the status of that case? What is the outcome of great massacre of Tinamanen? Is there any outrage in UN? No never there is such thing. but look into the Gujarat Fake Encounter episode. The Supreme court is following the case. To an extent i agree with what you said - its the political will which we lack in enforcing a strict regimen and policy implementation for the welfare of our people. Right from Shri MM Singh, Mr. Somnath Chatterjee to the last ranked politician make such a sound against judicial activisim - sorry in their words it is called as judicial overstepping. Why the Supreme Court of India has to step into this issues if there is political action is initiated for the good of the people.
