Orkut is giving a platform to socialize and network. The Indian govt is allowing everybody to have access to such sites because of the democratic freedom in our country. THIS SHOULD NOT BE MIS-USED. this principle should be followed by everybody, not just in expressing ourselves on portals, but in every phase of life. The democracy we have has come to us after a lot of sacrifice. we should cherish, honour and protect it AT ALL COST.
All this orkut Banning demand is profounded by the people who failed in making friends through Orkut and even bigger failure in thier lives also. They didnt even have the courage to speak to girls, so how can they tolrate that their peers and friends r having so many girlfriends thru orkut.. I found almost 30 odd classmates thanks to Orkut... If they want Ban the orkut then they should first ban the INTERNET itself...
I think orkut should ban communities which spread violence or hatred against a particular section of the society at once. The problem with orkut is that it bans a community only after it receives a particular number of abuse reports..orkut communities are hurting the sentiments of many religious and non religious groups. I feel people can find an alternate to orkut for social networking with some good features..
I personally feel that orkut should be banned.Orkut is such a open thing that any one can miss use u r contacts..friends list.it mainly spoils marriage relations.it should be banned.we can still be in touch with many ways like yahoo 360. and many other ways....Ban Ban Ban Orkut..It is waste of time and just we are getting addicted to Orkut...Lets come out of It....lets not give chance to others to spoil our culture and values.....

see , if u dont like the idea dont be a part of it . why ban it ? these are personal decisions afterall .... there are lots of other thihngs which are also time waste and please what does it have to do with culture ?

Bhai mere agar kisi se touch mein rehne se marriage relationships kharaab hoti hein to Yahoo 360 ko bhi ban karo...news papers bhi ban kar do, News channels bhi ban kar do...aaj kal to sabhi jagah aap sms ke thru apne messeges pahucha sakte ho ...sab ban kar do. Saudi arabia bana do is desh ko bhi.

Miss its not matter of yahoo 360 or orkut, but publicily anyone says anything and one cant keep ears closed. Someone comes to your door say anything to ur family , why he cant say standing on the road, he also has right to express,,,but it hurts you as you are targeted, here all security and culture have been targeted. Orkut needs to keep eyes whatever article put on it, if they cant they should shut down thir shoppe,, I am techno person , I know each coin has two sides but for better side we cant ignore negative side. in news channel or news paper they wont publish anything you say,, you need to have proof,, if someone put something abt you in orkut who wil gonna stop it, news channel other media has some rights and some responsiblity b4 publishin anything and orkut is justing idiot work by allowing anything by anyone,,

In the name of modernism and free speech and expression we are allowing everything under the sky be published whether through internet or any other media. Those who support or propogate this freedom are those who commercially benefit from this who are hand full in number. Restrictions are needed on members of society for the society to move in a orderly fashion otherwise Indian society will become the same like in the west, rudderless!!!
I am a south indian born and brought up in Pune, worked in Mumbai for almost 27yrs. But now and nri since 9yrs, and settled in my home town in AP. but, i still retain my strong ties with Maharashtra, and my single biggest icon is Sivaji. I have been at the receieving end of the influence of the sena many a times, at college, at work, etc, and allow me to tell u, that, there fears and argument r not w/o reason. anyways, coming back to Sivaji. if there r 2 hindu kings who reflect our greatness, they r Sri Krishna Deva Raaya, and Chatrapati Sivaji. and, no self expression sites should be allowed to become platforms for hate content towards our icons. there was a website which displayed inflammatory content agaisnt Rahul Gandhi. The Congress party(OFFICIALLY) took the portal to court. What if the same thing is done with Sonia Gandhi?? And, to people who equate this situation with rubbish written on Public Toilets, r they admitting that Orkut is like a Public Toilet?? r they admitting that everybody who visits orkut r actually visiting orkut to p-ss from his mind, there, including the person who has equated orkut to a public toilet?? IF GOOGLE COMES OUT WITH A STATEMENT THAT ORKUT IS A RUBBISH/TRASH SITE, SIMILAR TO A PUBLIC TOILET THEN I GUESS, EVEN THE SENA WILL SHUT UP. Orkut is giving a platform to socialize and network. Ban Shiv Sena instead, who restore to cheap gimmicks n hooliganism every now n then n disruot the services of the country. Its true college students or others who misuse orkut they should be punished or warned severely or orkut can take precautions before anybody publishes some trash in it. But banning is not any solution.

orkut is an incurable disease worse than leperosy. and these sick orkutwalas do not realise that they are suffering from a serious ailment. if orkut is not banned as early as possible it will be the main cause for the spread of aids. i suggest the orkutwalas to go chk if they are not HIV positive already. kissing raping killing is all that these sick guys know. god save us. jai hind !
