I find every minor matter comes for a discussion at national level prior to decision making by the authorities concerned, leading many a times to judical inteference that is often called "Judicial activism"! The executive has thoroughly failed enjoying fat salaries along with multifarious facilities on public exchequer! Who will pull up such failures? The ruling hierarchy or judiciary? How much of the valued time and money are lost besides loss of labour? Is it not an easy matter to say every citizen is created by same creation and hence is entitled to enter for worship at any place of worship without hindering in any way as per his own choice wherever he wants to worship? As all are entitled with equal rights, the reservation is also to be only for financially deprived as in this case worship is the priority, irrespective of the religion or caste considerations! Do such simple decisions need such huge waste of time money and labour, if the authorities concerned spontaneously respond promptly to silently solve ? Do we suffer from a brain drain? If the failing authorities are sacked with heavy penal actions, it will act as a strong deterrent against such future failures to totally avoid any chaos in the nation!Yea necessary LAW is needed!
Nobody teaches us how Hemu a vaishya king who defeated Humayon (Akbar's father) and briefly ended the Mughal empire was cheated by Brahmins and Kshatrias since a vaishya cannot be made a king. The alignment of these people with the Mughals cost Hemu his life and put India on track for Mughal rule. Shivaji who belong to the vegetable growing kunbi OBC caste was not even allowed to become king by the Brahmins, he searched far and wide to find that one Brahmin who can crown him king (though a better approach would have been to crown himself a chatrapati without a Brahmin but then those were the days when almost everyone was uneducated and this too revolutionary approach even for him). The Maratha emperor Sahuji Maharaj was one of the great social reformers of his time. This was not liked by the people who wanted to maintain their caste superiority and national interests. Finally the Peshwa Brahmin ministers aligned with the British and cheated the Maratha emperors out of power and put India on track for British rule. Why did these guys didn't allow the other castes to get an education? Because this was their trick to cheat a noble, honest yet uneducated king out of power and therby prevent reform in the society.

Hinduism is not a religion, it's a way of life. This is what the supreme court of India said. Hinduism is a way of life of the multiple cultures that lived in India before the British and the Muslims and the non-Muslim Arabs came here. The foreigners coined the term Hinduism.

Is the supreme court is a religious body to decide what is religion. Please keep in mind Buddism was a wide spread religion in India. why did it disappear altogather from India. Its because of the revival of Hinduism. So Buddhism was treated as a religion and was eliminated.
Please note that we have high dose of secularism, we lack a clear understanding of our own religion. Truly we are not practicing our religion in a true sense nor those Judges and hence we cannot conclude that Hinduism is a way life and not a religion.

I subscribe to your well placed views. Dear in those times, the most thought out logics / common and practicable concepts with manouvring in one's favour were adopted. when Individuals (Brahimsn/ Kashtriyas / or any other creed/ cast ) surrrnder himself to a bigger logic, then they cease to exist spiritually but continue physically and the suppressed ones whose confidences /views are not taken care of, are constrained to act in the affirmative and surface in the times to come. Unawakened Individuals suffer from the concept of being the world themselves and relate themselves with superior logic and treat the other individuals only substance/ other being / an object of hatred arising out of their predetermined or borrowed concepts/ logic.
All revolutions / mutinys/ group achieved concepts/ objectives have failed to produced the desires results, an individuals has to transform himself/ herself with a bigger perspective and grow abvoe these contradicitons.
To be an individual of non-controverisal perception/ living order and making it transparnt in one's life is matter requring long drawn process of logic to be percieved and practices. The Individual has to grind himself through the awakening truths / appearing to be truth but still not crystal clear. The more one tries to achieve the end result of logic early, more are the chances of having contraverisal perception in the logic.

Hiten Patel, Buddist never disbanded the army. The Mauryans controlled their empire quite well and Asoka installed his stone pillars preaching peace across his empire. The invasion happened when the Sunga dynasty took over. Yes the Buddhist were Hindus before they became Buddhist yet the Brahmins hated them so, people from their own country refined their religion to make it more tolerant and scientific and these guys wanted to undo everything just like terrorists want to undo civilization and go back to the 7th century? You can see the behavior of the decendants of Pusyamitra Sunga even now. Go to Bihar and see who commits the majority crime. Not only white collor crime but perfectly blue collar violent crimes.
The greatest Indian empire was the Mauryan empire when the Indian culture, values and power were at it's zenith. The Mauryans were Buddhist. This was despised by the Brahmin citizens. They felt insecure that Buddhism believes in a person's capabilities to attain nirvana by ones own karma instead of the caste he is born in. So to maintain their caste based superiorty the Hindu Brahman general of the Mauryan emperor whom the emperor has trusted so much, murdered the emperor and formed the Sunga dynasty. The name of this traitor was Pusyamitra Sunga. Not surprisigly his agenda was to maintain the caste superiority of his caste-men and he went about destroying the grand and happy Indian civilization built by the Buddhist emperorts. After successfully destroying Buddhist stupas, Buddhist knowlege and murdering Buddhist monks who were mostly non-Brahmin Indians, this traitor brought the grand Mauryan empire to it's demise. Foreign invaders like the Greeks, Afghans, Persians and Turks took over India. Check out further information about this traitor at the following link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pusyamitra_Sunga

'Why don't they bring a law to allow everyone into a temple'?
HOW ABOUT THIS:
'Why dont they bring a law to ask all Christian Evangelists to leave India and bring a law to ban conversions & make conversion a criminal offence all over India'?
OR STILL BETTER:
'Why don't they bring a law to stop all foreign funding of/for Indian madarassas?

I agree on this. Let us make hinduism shining in all its glory by reforming it. What needs to be done is to bring its practices in conformity with genuine scriptures like Gita.
The Posts taht u see pointing out that Christianity and islam also have such things is becoz of the vicious, unjustified attacks launched by people of these religions on hinduism. Whern they do it, it is not wrong to point out what wrong things they do.
This sickening birth-based caste system is the contribution of that fake Manu and his rotten book called Manusmrithi. The Bhagvad Gita talks about "Chaturvarnya" (Four classes) based on qualities and deeds of a person.
It is a mystery why hindus followed that rotten Manusmriti over the teachings of the Lord himself. The result is there for all to see.
I agree with u that inequalities withing hindu society cannot be justified on the grounds that inequalities exist in muslims and christians as well. What others do we need not imitate. Birth-based caste violates Constitution and teachings of Gita and must be done away with.

Anand, it's not a mystry why Manusmriti was followed over Gita. One of the key guy who supported the spread of Manusmriti was Pusyamitra Sunga and his dynasty. Please read the following link about this traitor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pusyamitra_Sunga
If personal intrests of unethical people take precedance over the greater good, justice and truth, the current status of India is the result.

"Proponents also point to the proclamations and claim that the Manu Smriti was propagated.". The reign of this traitor was between 185BCE to 151BCE. Dr. Ambedkar in "Who is Shuidra" acknowledges that deterioration (like no thread ceremony for girls, presecution of Ahudras) began sometime after 200BCE. Now I know that it is this traitor Pusyamitra is responsible.
