By and large Indians have always lacked an understanding of the concept of sovereignty. Therein lie the roots of our slavery by foreign rulers for over 1,000 years. These foreigners all came for plunder or trade, but stayed on to rule and earned the right to call themselves Indians. All the while the local kingdoms squabbled between themselves and myopically called for foreign help to overcome their adversaries.
The concept of sovereignty calls for a thorough understanding of national interests and goals; developing means (especially economic strength) and infrastructure to achieve them; fair and just rule of law; and military muscle along with a willingness to use it when necessary. Care also has to be taken to ensure that pragmatism and practicality prevail in all national policies, or else sovereignty can never be sustained.
The great Shivaji understood the concept of sovereignty perfectly well and was therefore able to create an empire out of nothing, surrounded by enemies on all sides. The British creation of 'protectorates' and 'buffer states' for the defence of India too developed because of this concept, and the lack of resources, especially manpower, with Great Britain to conquer, control, and administer every small or big state bordering India. Economically and administratively, it was not viable to expand the borders of the empire thoughtlessly over unproductive terrain.

First of all the Armys' account indirectly reveals that China was actively involved in land grabbing till 1986, have we managed to reclaim lost territory, why silence on that.
Even now China is our natural rival because India is a successful Democracy hence it is a disturbing role model in eyes of dictatorial Chinese leadership, how can they justify themselves to restive Chinese public.
Secondly the area of Himalayas under illegal Chinese occupation is source of water for mighty rivers. As water shortages emerge this area is both a prime real state & occupation will give handle to blackmail India.
Thirdly according to scenerio report of American Think tank to pentagon(nearly a decade old) there is a high probability of another Indo-China war which can easily escalate to tactical-nuclear exchange if not more.
When it comes to national security we need to be prepared for worst & hope for better. We dont need to repeat another battle of 1962-Panipat-or Plassey. Three bitter experiences are enough now no more
We have to admit that China is mightier than us. But India is growing in terms of science and technology. And China always consider India as its competitor and a threat too. That is why it cannot attack us directlty as we also have nuclear weapons, but it is indirectly attacking us by helping maoists,ULFA,etc and is supplying weapons and technology to pakistan. As George Fernandes said, China is our enemy. In this cirumstance we have to do the following 1. Devise a long term plan to strengthen defence equivalent to or more than that of Chinese. 2. Negotiate with China to reduce tension. 3. Check cross border terrorism seriously. 4. Enhance R&D facility and encourage researches in developing advanced technologies.
If we make China feel that we are mightier than China militarily and economically, it will not dare to interfere.

I will accept that, we need to be much stronger militarily, but Economically it is not going to be possible as China it more than 2.5 times stornger in terms of FDIs and Forex. China expanding very fast and their trade & Industry is growing at rapid speeed. India still not come to that level by we reach todays level china might be even bigger.
I am true Indian and would like to see India is a super power in the world, but We should not write just what we want to write. I reallity it is not possible.

Kill the competition from minds. Everything will be ok. If u compete with china, dont think they will stop it. Best is dont bother china, you do good for your people and have your defence strategy which fits the best for the country. Target should not be a particular country but no one as such and everyone as such.
whenever Brotherhood Slogan was given, Indians got killed brutualy. take this- 1. Hindu-muslim bhai-bahi: after the slogan, Hindus got killed by muslims.
2. Hindi-chini(chinese) bhai-bhai: after the slogan, 1962 war happened.
So now India shld stop giving & praising this Brotherhood Slogan. It is a curse for India.

when Bhai-Bhai slogans starts, indicates that they are not bhai-bhai and we just want to remind them of being bhai-bhai. And the moment slogan blasts, the anger also blasts. Remember jale par namak chhirakna

in addition to the first point made above, even muslims got killed by hindus as far as the second point is concerned, we were able to kill only a meagre no of chinese. u know why?? coz most of the time we are just so much involved in killing ourselves that others easily intrude and and kill us.
this is the usual statement of our army and Politician.. because of them(mainly Politician) we are losing our Jamu and Kashmir. (30% as POK and 25% as COK)
It happened during "Great" Pandit Nehru period, and now with a soft economist as the prime minister it could happen even now. Chinese are agressors and they have shown the world that with acquisition of Tibet they have a great bridge from Beijing to Lhasa. Our country is a docile. The land that gave the Buddha to the world. The old good for nothing Commies will also keep their mouth shut. It is we people who have decide and vote for a strong center so that an agressive Prime Minister is at the Helm of all the affairs. Shed all the regional parochialism prevailing in this country first. Remove all these old goons and heirarchy . Let the country be ruled by an effective leadership be it a lady like Indira Gandhi or Golda Meir or a man like Sardar Vallabhai Patel.
