Sanjay Dutt is a strong man
by Suman Kumar on Aug 01, 2007 11:24 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

He has faced a lot in his life and I think he certainly deserve such a harsh decision. I just want to ask why in our country called India, we always keep on saying that India is rising, but what about our judicial system. This man has waited for almost 12 years, he has changed and a great person, but six years is too long for him. I do agree he committed an act that just can not be ignored, but again what about our so called politicians who are still living their life comfortably even after multiple scams and criminal acts. At the end all I can say is he is a strong person mentally and I am sure when he will come back, he will completely be new person. Though he is now 40 but he has long way to go... I pray and wish him all the best.

Politicians do also get sentences after long wait, Shibu Soren is an example.
Judicial system is overloaded and slow that does not mean acts of terrorism should be condoned.
AK56 is no ordinary weapon it is a prohabited bore gun. In USA you can buy a rifel or shotgun showing your driving licence but for possessing an assault rifel ( AK47 / AK56 ) you will get minimum 20 years in jail, I hope you understand how different AK56 is from an ordinary gun.

Test for Indian Democracy
by sridhar kanchi on Aug 01, 2007 11:24 AM  Permalink

Sanjay dutt's case will be a real test for indian democracy. As the case will come up in SC for review,it remains to be seen whether immense sympathy wave and the 'influence ' of his MP sister will have any bearing on SC's judgement.

All those who feel that the sentence is too harsh should consider two points: if in place of celbrity had it been any other ordinary citizen, eqully good natured and help full as Dutt, would they feel the same way and think of those killed or diabled in the 93 serial blasts. we need to learn from contries like US and UK,where celbreties and political leaders are not above the law.

Delay in process
by niketan maral on Aug 01, 2007 11:21 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Why there is no provision to sue police for delaying the process and taking 13 years to collect the evidances sufficient for procecution? .......and court to work out and analys the processes ......What is result ....
persons like Dutt has to go through 13 years under tremenduos pressure almost half jailed throughout and now again six years!.....what if our systems were in place and trial was over 2 years ...dutt could have finished is term...and things would have fallen in place....is it really unfair with dutt and many other people who victims of this slow trails ....

RE:Very harsh for Sanjay Datt

Manadar Mulla,

Firest of all you are NOT a Mandar at all !! You are a thug under the sheep's skin. People know that ... don't fake it.

Rightnow, the decision is about Sanjay Dutt. And he got the punishment under the law which is minimum almost.

AK-56 is not for self-defence; Its a mass killing weapon. Also, he has transported these weapons to someone else.

And about Advani & Modi and RSS ... blah, blah ... and comparing them to Taliban !

Taliban kidnaps people & beheads innocent people (which RSS or Modi/Advani are not associated with).

Taliban hijacked 160 innocent Indians and we had to release YOUR HEROs, Masud Azhar & Omer Shaikh, who later on went onto kill Daniel Pearl.

Congress communalises Indian society more than any political party today. Look at the way our Govt is handling Haneef & Sabil cases. What kind of signals it send out ?

You accept it or not .... India is country where majority are Hindus and you will some people standing upto the Mullas of Congress every time you make an issue out of vote bank politics.

One more thing, when you mention Gujarat & Modi next time, don't forget to write "Go-dh-ra" within the same bracket.

If you don't like this India, you are free to migrate where you think your problems are sorted out.

Jai Hind.

Dear Friends, Its sad that dutt had been given this punishment, but then remember law does not distinguish whether one is a normal fellow or a big actor etc...Its like god/karma.

You said a lot about RSS, Modi etc.
RSS was a reaction to the islamic fundamentalism started before partition.RSS would not been there, had there not been this kind of islamic fundamentalism / jehad, that is still very much alive. That is why India has been looted/raped/destroyed many times in the past by Mohammed of Ghazni & Ghori.Even during partition, many hindus were killed while they were coming to india from pakistan (of today). Personally, one of my friends grandfather who owned a big building in karachi, was stabbed to death while on way to india.
Can't you remember why in first place those riots take place in gujarat? how many of our politicians condemned the terrorists openly when around 60 people got burned in the train? Policians will go to any length to reach out, if they are from one community, but why they fail todo the same for pandits who were displaced from kashmir? why didn't they stop the illegal immigration from bangladesh?

In coimbatore, the bomb blasts killed over around 100 people. And, the kerala CM want Madhani(one of the accused) to be released, obviously for votes.
Let me tell you, there is no other country which treats the minorities, as more than equal to majority. And, this is going to be precisely the problem in the future.

The sentence handed to Sanjay dutt may have been a little harsh considering the current circumstances. In case if this was some other criminal occurence, Mr. Dutt may have even walked free, as some court would have taken notice of his imprisonment record, good deeds and the affadivits filed by repuuted people. But lets remember that the bomb blasts was an attack on our individual lives and Mr. Dutt was connected with the persons involved in the blast. Every day when I take a local to travel, I fear what may happen. And then I believe this verdict was necessary so that people are sent a message that anyboby attempting to murder any Indian Individual will be dealt with no mercy. The verdict makes my life a litle safer but nonetheless lets be human beings and pray for Mr. Sanjay dutt.

Regards & God Blass all

Sanjay Dutt has himself stated that its very important to be Honest and true "AT ALL TIMES"
Since, he was not honest and true in 1992 he is suffering for the ERROR he has done in 1992.
