Sad but fair
by Rajesh Kumar I on Jul 31, 2007 02:57 PM  Permalink

We all know Sanjay Dutt as he is a public figure and with that benefit we are saying he is a good person and may be does not deserve this punishment. We have seen him give interviews to TV channels which show him in a very sorry state, he says with innocence in his eyes that he loves our country and is not a terrorist. May be he is true. But how many other such undertrials for similar crimes have the chance to give TV interviews and gain our sympathy. What about many other hundreds of thousands who do not have the benefit of being a public figure and their cases are heard purely on the basis of evidence provided without the people like us having the benefit of the knowledge about their conduct otherwise.
In any case the punishments have two purposes. One to actually punish the criminal for the crime and second to give a signal to the other potential offenders.
In India there are hundreds of thousands of people who have spent years in jail waiting just for their cases to be heard for petty crimes, let alone many more who are spending years in jail as Punishment for petty crimes as they could not afford to pay the bail amount.

Should the situation improve in general definitely..should law be equal to all definitely

not a right verdict

This case was 15 years old. Dutt has been tortured form the last 15 years and never committed any act against the law during the period. I think, he already got enough punishment and learn a good lesson. This extended six years imprisonment is really not a right verdict for him. He suffered a lot and become good person. So don%u2019t make him criminal again by giving such a horrible punishment

Sanjay Dutt did not kill the 275 people. so why do you guys want to link him with the 1993 riots. He only aquired prohibited weapon. but did not use it. imagine, if your family is threatened during Riots, you will protect it or just shit in your pants.

Time to change the arms act .

He visited the party when Dawwod was not a terrorist.

i think the judge has only tried to save his skin. GOD WILL DECIDE

u mean to say..a guy commits a rape and then during his trial doesnt do another so he should be left free...do u want to wait to punish him till he commits another act...and this act of sanjay is far worse than a rape..ask the people who lost their near and dear ones in the balst or who are maimed for life.

Sanjay Dutt Imprisonment
by Gyothi Oommen on Jul 31, 2007 02:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

this verdict is really harsh. A person, like Sanjay, who had suffered the worst instances in his life, should have been given a chance to lead a peaceful life. He had come out of the tragedies in the life of losing his beloved mother, wife, going for drugs etc.....but still Indians love this actor, which is shown in the movies like Naam, Munnabhai, sajan etc.

oh yeah ? what about those who lost thier lives in those blasts ? its no co-incidence that he had arms when there were blasts. its implied that he was part of the sketch. scores of tapes have revealed deep connection between movie stars and dawood. so whats the big deal, why shed tears for a person who's been involved in a ghastly plot ?

Show me one proof where he preached hatred. You are a frustrated guy, you know that many non-muslims embraced Islam after listening to him. He is ready for the open debates with anyone from any religion.

Learn to respect every religion, this is what Islam teach us. Yeah, agreed, there are some mis-guided people in Islam but you cannot blame the entire community for the wrong doing of of mis-guided people. Good and bad people exists in every religion but it doesn't give you the license to blame those religions. First learn to respect every religion.
