If we cant move on from here to secure an alliance, 40 years from now people in america will blame bush, and in india will blame MMS, and will be able to do nothing more...
US clearly does not have enough Horse Power to pull out of the deal, it may have adequate horse sense to capitalise for major economic gains and security needs.

It is no easy for some of these myopic Congress to come in terms with an emerging democracy like India. Introducing their pet notions in Hyde Act and gearing up omnibus support for it was easy, rejecting a done deed is not so.

If India accomplishes friendly neighbourhood to provide a major thrust to its development agenda, it would also be the best anti-dote against terror and promote rule of law.

For decades, US policy makers influenced Indian neighbourhood to militate against non-aligned India, now they seek to influence a friendly India against its own neighbourhood. Terror cessation needs an anti-dote, not war - the anti-dote is promoting friendly neighbourhoods and rule fo secular law.

The real test is whether Indian leadership who come in various hues would remain mired in their antiquated ideologies or set a policy course for rapid expansion of market economy and set thursters in course for social and educational development of our society. If their original motivational impulse was development this would happen, it the impulse was merely political power then this great opportunity would be frittered away. And as a nation we need to be eternally grateful to Prez. Bush for making way for this decisive turn in India's destiny.

Choosing the last option, going for a paper agreement first at executive level, in conformance to commitment he made to India on Indian soil, in contradiction to specific laws which had set the future course of action, is indeed a super human step where failure is not an option.

To those who dares call INDIA names I have just one question for them. How many of you actually went ahead out of your daily routine to go and help someone in need, someone other than your own flesh and blood, how many of you are a part of an organization doing non profit work for sick people, how many of you dont bribe, how many of you dont try and find your way from the law and order to make more money? Its the people that make a country not the other way around, if you think there is corruption and discrepencies in the system then it is you who made it to be there. It is wisely said "Those who have the strength to stop wrong doing, it is their responsibility to act." Above words are bitter but no one said that they wont be.
People of India will ultimately be slaves of America..that is no alliance it is a trick to enslave and brainwash..and it's not the communists alone, they r idiotic on many matters..and i hv nothing 2 do with them but one has to be capable to analyse the future..that is Logic. But most poople are followers in India..we have lost the self-independence urge. We should not have any 'Baap' doing deals with us; we will do what we want 2 do..this has 2 b the policy. There are several other sources; but yeah if India gains from this then it can go ahead; taking into consideration all future events including regional war and world war scenario.Security of supply of nuclear material has to be ensured..there has to be a alternate supply source as well.

Not all people of India. The salves are the leaders of this country who have other visions or thinkings wherein they can get maximum personal benefits to other countries in the name of selling our country. Intellectuals and patriotic citizen are against India Govts. action and agrements they are MAKING with USA in the name of 123 Agreement which is in a sense, literally selling our country to America and thereby to western powers. We will be making our next generations life very difficult and they will have to bear the consequences of these politicians (say - unpatriotic slave politicians) in the name of giving HEAVEN to Indian people.
What ever we have we must first be self dependent on that resource rather to go for the other option of raw material that is Uranium-235. Thorium is available here in India (Although it not as efficient N-fuel as compared to U-235) even than we first have to be self dependent. Becoz finally we hav to enhance our dependency on N-Power plant than on Thermal P plant(70-75%)

Chndra Prksh Would please shut your idiotic message in every discussion board.... You are a sickening person...
The Nuclear Deal definitely benefits India. Not only in civilian energy sector but it is a path breaking deal which will benefit most areas where dual use (civilian & military) technologies r used. In today's era, most technology is dual use. It will immensely benefit ISRO too & will eventually get technology for Indian Defence Industries.
No doubt we have developed a lot on ur own. But tech transfer will benefit us in the long run and in multiple fields. The US needs India as much as we need the US for technology.
My contention to all those who oppose the deal is very plain and simple. If someone has already invented a circle, why should we waste time, money and effort to reinvent the same. Buy off the technology and then use our brains and money to move forward from there. We will reach up higher, faster and surer. We need to think of our growth and of our self interest.
A ship is always safe at the shores or in the dockyard but that is not what it is built for. Let us show more confidence and belief in our own country and in its abilities.
