We are bad negotiators.
by chanakya maurya on Jul 21, 2007 04:29 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

When we say we made a breakthrough, what we really mean is that "we have caved in to the pressure".

Americans know just too well where to pressurize and how much.

Indian diplomats are largely gullible.

Much harsher words could be used for them but for the moderator, who would say this is misuse.

There is still time. Patriotic Indians must do whatever they can to educate people about facts.

One site of Indian interests is

www.bharatrakshak.com

and the nuclear discussion is being held here

http://forums.bharat-rakshak.com/viewtopic.php?p=375362#375362

Correct information will lead to better understanding by Indians about the extent of damage this treaty will cause to Indian foreign, nuclear, and national freedom.

We are doing all this just for the nuclear fuel from the Americans, forgetting very conveniently that it was the "inspection" with which the usurpation of Iraq started.

The Americans are the most untrustworthy human species on this planet we call The Earth.

What we do with the spent fuel is being subjected to inspection by creating special facility exclusively for this purpose.

And this is the breakthrough they call it.

There are yet many hurdles though.

The whole game is far from over.

Our idiots could well argue that since we are getting the fuel, compromising on what we do with the spent fuel is a negligible give away.

However, one must not forget that the fuel that we shall get will be fully paid for and the payments would run into .....well..... billions of dollars.

Are the Americans not benefiting ?

They are just selling a commodity to the Indians.

After eating the banana, what we do with the rest of the banana should be our own business and not that of the Neanderthal occupying the Oval, nor the wicked dick or condi or fondi.

The Americans are definitely not doing a charity to Bharatvarsh.

Still they want it to make it look like a Great Show of Charity.

This is utter nonsense.

Total sell out
by ratnesh srivastav on Jul 21, 2007 04:26 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Congress has once again sold Indian interests.

Consider some facts:
1. US stops fuel supply to reactors if india tests a nuclear device (even if pakistan or china do so).
2. India can reprocess the spent fuel but cannot use it and will have to sell the fuel to US (If they want or keep in storage). And this right can be with drawn by US any time for their SUPREME interest.
3. India will have to stop buying oil or gas from Iran for more than 100 crore rupees in one year. Which means we can buy only 0.12 percent of our oil.
4. India will have to stop making fissile material in FMCT.
5. India CANNOT be recognised as nuclear weapon state.

Today is a day of sadness. India has signed to become an american SLAVE and will never be free again.

History will remember today as the day when congress sold Indian Freedom.

No I am realist. I believe in what has been written on paper that we have signed.

Please read July 18 Agreement with US and you will surely realise that my points are correct.

And rather that calling me names I will appreciate if you could agrue for your stand.

As some of posters will ask questions and as responsible Indian citizens you deserve a reply. Please read carefully:
By the way I donot like BJP also but Congress is a party of traitors as this deal proves.
Now logic and arguments:

1. The treaty has clause that US CAN with draw al cooperation if India does not support its actions on Iran. Moreover US has a law that any country investing more than 20 million $ per year will be sanctioned. 20million$ means 90 crore rupees. You can easily calculate the petroleum we can buy from Iran with 90 crore per year (and this also includes gas).
2. Another clause states that Indiawill have to sign FMCT.

I very well know what is FMCT and if you need more knowledge than just visit the site
www.bharatrakshak.com
read discussion on nuclear deal. You will find informed Indian security experts and Nuclear experts and their views.

Whatever I have said is absolute truth. This treaty is another BLUNDER and that after 20 years we will remember this day as when we lost Indian freedom again.

There will definitely be a breakthrough as the if not today at least tomorrow as Dr.M has put aside his heart and soul to make the deal happen for Mr.Bush.

It is clearly evident that Indians foreign policy has been hijacked by the US.

What is bold there. He has sold the country to the western interests. I dont understand as to why a public debate is not encouaged when a deal of such importance is taking place especially something concerned to the national security and soverignity.

Condoleeca Rice's impending Trip to South Block in Lutyens's Delhi...
by D goel on Jul 21, 2007 01:38 PM  Permalink

Panchkula Afternoon, 1.15pm.,Saturday , 21st July, 2007.
I read the latest report of Diplomatic Parleys between Indian Officials and US mandarins lasting several rounds ending by the departure of Indian team to home. It reports to Cabinet and UPA High-command on arrival.
Now a new text already been crafted . Indo-US Nuclear cooperation, hopefully , accommodates Indian Interests as spelt in July 18, Agreement of Indian PM and President Bush. The two salient contentions in Hyde Act of US Congress relate to reprocessing of the used Fuel , and US stoppage of all services and supplies in the event of any possible Nuclear Weapon testing in future by Indians in view of National Security ; we hope , the text as per Negotiations of last
four days , finally leaves either party Happy for emerging 123 Act,in US Congress ; following the petite Condoleeca Rice Secretary 's Visit to N.Delhi before September is out.One hopes though in the penultimate rounds the Director of AEC of India Dr. Anil Kakodar hardly played any significant role in hammering this text for officials making the US Statute 123 ,for US satisfaction of its strong Non-Proliferation Lobbyists in US Congress and otherAgencies ,Like AEIA/NSG that monitor and enforce non-proliferation Agenda of the Nuclear Club as it exists ,at present,Our National Sovereignty ,and Security is in no way compromised . Our anxiety to have these Civil Nuclear Reactors imports , for the first time since India demonstrated its

Reg. Reprocessing of Spent Fuel Clause in 123 Agreement!
by vi y on Jul 21, 2007 01:07 PM  Permalink

I was very surprised by some of the clauses in 123 agreement. More damaging one is Reprocessing of spent fuel in India by nuclear member states. If this clause is not understood or changed, before sighing India will become a Hazardous country rather than a Prosperous one...

Hope Indian politicians put some light on it before sighning the agreement.
