UPA candidate for Vice-President
by MUKUL GARG on Jul 20, 2007 07:57 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

We will see even greater lows in the time to come. The process of undermining systems and institutions set in by Indira Gandhi continues as Indian masses remain insensitive towards greater national issues.

I think that you donot know about his stature. Before sending any comment you should know about the person.Hamid Ansari has represented India on many fronts including United Nations. He is far better than Partibha Patil and Shekhawat.

Did he also fight in Afghanistan along with Mujhahideen?

If yes, then the choice is very 'right' and you are absolutely correct on his stature.

If not, then probably he has a better role by Sonia to compensate for that.

We truly support him.

But our question is, if he is so good then why was he not directly chosen for the president post instead of that puppet pratibha?

We are ready to support Mr. Hamid Ansari, but are the muslims ready to ask the question to their beloved congress, why it didn't chose him for the President post?

Suresh we need one not thousands. Where were you bootlicker when Partibha was selected for President. Was it Marathi appeasement. The moment a Muslim name come ups you bootlicker of BJP will start calling it muslim appeasement but if the BJP does the same (Kalam as president) then it was not appeasement but honoring a great son. Shame on your mentality. First understand what Ansari has done for India and then talk.

You cannot digest the fact Dr. Kalam has never been to a madrassa, but still made a great impact. This is what hurts you and your entire clan. Majority Indians do not look at Dr. Kalam as a moslem. Rather as a true Indian.

What you need is somebody graduating out of madrassa, then should have an outing in the middle-east or North Africa or Afghanistan to stand fit to be called a true moslem.

Shame!!!

Hina
You are absolutely right, Hamid Sb is a towering personality, he has contributed a lot as an academician and on diplomatic front. He is not an politician, with the result he never indulged in corruption and plundering the national wealth. He is worth to be the president of India than to be the vice president. Although he is not of the stature of Kalam, but still he is much more better than Pritiba patil.

I admit Hina that I do not enough knowledge about Hamid Ansari. But don't you feel a presidential/vice-presidential candidate should be known enough. My assessment is that Congress-Left wish to limit the damage caused by not supporting APJ Abdul Kalam by nominating Hamid Ansari primarily for his muslim background. If merit and eminence were the consideration, there was a strong case for Kalam for Presidentship. You must acknowledge that merit etc have taken a backseat in today's politics. And for most ills that this country suffers with, you would find Congress responsible.

India divided..
by sreejit steve on Jul 20, 2007 07:52 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

No ones an Indian here. We are all hindus, muslims, minorities, brahmins, dalits, males, south indians etc. Congress may win all elections with these blatant attempts at minority appeasement but it will be mocked by history for putting to shame what our freedom fighters stood for...

Exactly

the way one Facist italian is ruling Indian national congress.

Congress is again going the way like 1920.

There must be some BhagatSing who braught Purna Swarajya.
Same way there should be developmental politica rather the vote bank politics.

good example Congress supports majorly all bangldadeshi immigrants(from Mumbai to Asam).

Congress is major supporter for settelment of refugies in ASAM.
