In the UK, there have been 120 arrests in the last one year. only 7 were charged for just glorifying Terrorism. Rest of them were released and walked free. How could this happen if this whole episode wasn't DRAMA?????

In an Islamic country all the 120 ppl would have been executed publicly....without trial.....would that be better?????

I really feel sorry for the parents & family members of Hanif kind of people.
The authorities must have some valid reason for arresting him... Only if he is extremly lucky, then he will be saved otherwise its doom time for him & his family.

Unlike the spineless Indian Government, which bends over backwards to accomodate the terrorists, the West has no such compulsions. If they have picked up a person for alleged terrorist activities, rest assured there is something which this person is hiding. And considering the strong human rights activism existing in those countries, no government will dare to pick up a person from the street and brand him a terrorist. So If australian govt has arrested haneef, there must be something to it. Let us wait for the reports to come in.
Another thing. Even a murderer who has been caught and proven guilty, his family will continue to say he is innocent. So let us not give much credibility to what the family says. For them haneef and the likes will always be innocent.

I went through all the posts on this topic and liked yours the most . It is the most logical one and I completely agree with you that western governments do not detain any Dick and Harry without credible information on a charge as serious as terrorism . So, there can be some link and as you said , we must wait for the reports to come in before commenting further.

What if this were to happen to you one day? God forbid. It has happened to many people while entering Dubai because they have similar names to criminals.
Newspapers in Bangalore today have mentioned his friends saying that he was too much into islamic studies. What is the next logical step for someone who is so deeply involved in islam? Jihad.. so that is the path haneef took. I was reading an article in The Week sometime back about the suicide bomber in London. One clear fact which stands out is just before he became a jihadi, he also showed a lot of interest in islamic studies. So there is a pattern here.
Just see how the Lal Masjid events are turning out to be? This was supposed to be a Madrasa, a school. What are the students doing there with AK 47 and other weapons? What kind of things do they teach in a madrasa? Terrorism.
So dont feel sorry for people like haneef. Feel sorry for the common citizen of this country who has the misfortune of living with such terrorists.
The government should take step and help haneef and his family. He is one like us, it can happen to us also as now a days muslims are targetted, without proper proof they gave detained and insha allah haneef will be out without any charges.Almighty is with Haneef and his family and surely he will help them.

Hope he is inocent!. But what if he turns out to be indeed a terrorist? Do u have word for him? So dont come to conlusion and support him just because he is from ur community.
