They only come outside when it comes to torching minorities in the name of protecting hinduism. They dont care about the suffering of mumbaikars now bcos there are no minorities to blame for this.

30th June,07 Rain Desaster, Mumbai/ maharshtra.
by ghanshayam gupta on Jul 01, 2007 10:13 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Dear All,

Please Do n ot link with all over Country.

26 Days before the last two years, I had a painfull visulising facts.

My Suggessions are-

1- MMRDA poor uncontrolled workings,

2- No Sequence and heads for the works.

3-MMC of greater Mumbai- A joint hand with

Slogans when 90% & 95% work is completed.? Said by MMNC Commissioner, mayor, ministers,

4- why not court to Dis arm fron chairs, take suomoto action since PIL its' cost heavy now.

5- last year before t had rained poured, now five hours of water is clogged . why?

since there is no drrainage proper and what is -said is just on mouth spoken and aired thro tv/media who had become the puppets of these leaders.

The matter isn't heavy construction, the matter is planned construction. Harming natural courses as little as possible.

Not a disastar but something of our own creation, it is naturs punishment
by pranabjyoti ghosh on Jul 01, 2007 10:04 PM  Permalink

Rain may depend on raingod, but what about blocking of nautral ways of waterflow to "develop" real estate. We may turn blind to nature, but by time it will take its due course and punish ourselves for our foolishness.

Looks like the photo was taken from an helicopter OR from a top of the house in the deadend of the road. It captures the essence well.

UNHINDERED RAINS SUSTAIN US, HINDERD ONES DRAIN US
by Rehman SH on Jul 01, 2007 09:22 PM  Permalink

Rains are must. Not hindering their natural courses is also must. Rainwater take two routes. One is vertical and other horizontal. Vertical course is infiltration into ground. Horizontal course is run-off compounded with soil and water erosion. In the name of development we have hindered its infiltration into ground and enhanced its runoff by by paving our entire dwelling areas with cement/concrete. Let us start a new life where plantation is done on 75% of our dwelling areas and 25% hardly left for paving. Plantation does not mean that aesthetic gardens. It means planting native tall trees, short trees, bushes and ground covers together as if in native jungle. This will provide us a haven to reap pure air, potable water and healthy fibrous food ( three most important supporting elements of our lives) on perpetual basis. Give secondary importance to metallic transport, concrete shelter and expensive marriages. Give tertiary importance to poisonous luxury items. Every human being should be given a chance to see at least once a while sky, sun, stars, moon, soil and trees from their living places. Nobody should be captive like zoo animals in concrete structures. Animal activists who are striving to make animals non-captive are requested to see us too, who are very much captive in our own concrete structures.
