What else can be expected. terrorist violence is always up when muslim lover sonia and her feet lickers are in power. In fact congress first creates these terrorism problems, be it kashmir, punjab, assam or anywhere else. After that they try to rule using muslim appeasement.
Meanwhile muslims are continuing their path of suicide trying to get the virgins as fast as possible.
"Idol worship is a sin".....many of us have heard it time and again, though few of us have done an exegesis on it.
In the day & time it was laid down as a commandment.....this was the context. The Israelites were leading very sinful lives by all means, openly fornicating, having orgies, being drunk most of the time AND in these drunken festivities worshiping anything and everything they found. That was considered "idol worship".
Fast forward to today, majority of the Hindus I know do not worship in that context....they are pious when they are worshiping and to my knowledge they are not worshiping the object ....but rather the diety or incarnation the object represents. So this isn't the "idol worship" referred to in the Old testament.
Also most churches over the world (Protestant & Catholic) have such representations of Christ/Mary that people in effect worship. My point being this isn't considered "idol worship".
So bottomline....what Hindus do isn't "idol worship"....atleast not in the way the Old Testament meant it.....for if it does....then by all means a huge number of Christians are also "idol worshippers".....Besides the "10 commandments" in Old testament were in effect replaced by "2 commandments" in the new testament. Hope that helps.

@Sarath...
I agree most people belong to a religion just cos they were born that way and have been raised to believe that until you become an adult and develop your own understanding.

:-) Ok I accept hindus dont worship the cow the way the Israelites were doing. :-) Bye take care.
An overwhelming majority of Christians do not regard Old testament as the ultimate guide. The majority of lessons are taken from the gospels of the New testament.....where the clear message is faith, hope & charity....of these three the greatest is charity. No Christian worth his salt will deny this.
Epsilon: In your narrow interpretation (you said you are a Muslim) of the Old Testament you are saying God exhorted everyone to kill idol worshippers......BULL.....you freak. I am glad you are not a Christian. NO CHRISTIAN INTERPRETS EVEN THE OLD TESTAMENT THAT WAY. Besides, I doubt if it is stated in the way state it. Bottomline, that is not the message, anyways Old testament has only a historical value to Christians....the essence being it was able to predict that the messiah will come....which christians believe is Christ.
Love & charity are above everything else in Christianity....that is Christ's central message.

So what have you learnt from history? You accepted that Old testament has historical value. So can you tell me the reaon why Moses did what he did ?

Since to begin with I told you Old Testament has only historical value....I dont feel obliged to defend any of it. Why would I? For me only the New Testament is important.

So you say that Jesus was against the ideas of Moses and Christanity sees Moses as evil ?

FACT FINDER...
I converted from Christianity to Islam three years ago. As a child I was taught the lords prayer.
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
If you understand this. Then you will stop abusing other humans.
My Answer:
Thanks for reminding me Lords prayer which I completely forgot. Anyway, you should know that I am not against all Muslims. I am only against some of the evils Islam promotes and I criticize those Muslims who treat everything written in Quran as absolute.
Though I was originally a Christian, I don't accept all the dogmas written there. I don't treat idolatry or animal worship as sins. I see how good a person is than what his religion is and what he worships.
You know I had Muslim friend who wanted to invite me for Ramzan feast. But his parents told him we should not get too close to people of other religions. He being too yung at that time used to tell me everyting his parents used to talk. Later he ran away from home.

Although I never grew up as a muslim I can understand what you are saying. I never said that what some muslims are doing is correct or someone should support it. But at the same time I blame it on lack of Islam rather than presence of Islam. We are all brothers in humanity, we can differ in opinions. There are certain chapters in the Quran where you will find violence but if you read the history around it you will understand the context. Otherwise how can the same Quran say that there is no compulsion in religion ? Or something like "to you is your way and to me is mine"...
