Kerala is part of India, and it should obey the Supreme court's judgement. Kerala is getting everything from TN(Electricity, Food, Vegetables, Grains, Flowers, etc) and not giving the water which is going waste to Arabian see.
There is no issue with Dam as per the expert team co-ordinated by experts from 5 states. Kerala should think abt this and should not make this as apolitical issue.

If there is no issue with dam then what is the issue with Kerala?..The state is ready to give water to TN , even after a new Dam is built. So this defies the very base of the your argument. And don't think the water in periyar is flowing waste to Arabian sea.It can be used for power geenration in Idukki, and should only be a great relief to a state which is facing acute power crisis. But apart from all this factors the Kerala Govt. stance so far is that , there is no issue for them to give water to TN, but the Dam's safety is the primary issue.. Imagine the dam getting collapsed and the districts of kerala getting immersed in water and districts in madurai going back to the stage in 1800's ..it will be a disaste to both the states. So better act wise than clinging oneself to petty politics
The issue is not a water dispute as TN would like to have it projected..It is abt they should construct a new dam or not in the place of the one which is 110 years old..
This is a classic example of Governments wasting time and money instead of concentrating on their core jobs of governance and eradication of poverty. If two neigbouring states cannot have a spirit of accomodation and brotherhood how can one expect the same from our people? Dr.B.Ashok
Tamil Nadu expects too much from all the states sorrounding it. They want endless amount of water from Andhra, Karnataka and now Kerala, just becuase they influence the central government with there ministers, does not mean they should get everything at everybodies cost.
Our local politicians in any state are all shortsighted and are scared to take a decision fearing vote bank and opposition. The centre is not only partial but too docile to enforce a proper strategy. See how many years they are dragging this Cauvery issue. It will continue beyond this present CM's grandson's rule (assuming dynasty rule which is the "modern progressive" trend in a secular India)or will end when this great river itself dries up . All these politicians do not respect SC's ruling also. Hence moving the courts is only a "buying time attitude" and they will try to cash on the situation to wrangle few more extra votes from the gullible public. God save India from the clutches of wretched poitics. Jai Hind VJ
water, air and earth are common for all and the haves should share with the havenots.....States haveing water or resources that are very essential to human living should be shared

edwin, ur comments are practically not possible to apply. since many states are not willing to share with water with other states in india. interlinking of river will be a possible solution. but that will take atleast 50 years to complete, if there is no food to eat and not water to drink then politicians will take decision on interlinking river, otherwise they wont.
