Pakisthan is an small fry and india shouldnt be cowed down by such minor irritants such as kashmir.
Pakisthan's so called moral support to the kashmir unrest should be dealt with iron fist viz: by total re-settlement of muslims living in kashmir to other safer parts of India.
simultaneously non muslims from other parts of india should be settled in the entire length and breadth of kashmir.
In the meantime our diplomats should be engaged in identifying trouble spots in pakisthan and seek their independence by providing them more than a moral support...
we can thus keep both pakistan and islamic elements who want to break this democratic nation in check.
India should agressively help the break down of pakisthan in which lies our security

Your solution is quite right except that those useless bunglers Hajpayee and his BJP admin. failed to revoke the "temporary" provisions of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution when they were in power. Hence your plan would be illegal!

One can not remain hostile to each other for ever. the countries which were historically seperated have been united again. Germany and Vietnam are the greatest example of this.
Why cant we reunite, making India "Akhand Hindustan" again. Let them talk of occupying Kashmir. We should start talking of making India One again. Many families were living in Karachi and Lahore before they had to leave it because of the policies of then Indian and Pakistani leaders. Why can't present leaders talk about re-uniting the two nations seperated by the foolishness of the leaders of the both side and by the British.
Akhand Hindustan is only thing we should talk of not Kashmir. It should be our dream. From Peshawar to Kohima and from Queta to Kanyakumari We must become the citizen of One nation.

Sahi Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 85, Number 77: Narrated Abu Huraira:
While we were in the mosque, Allah's Apostle came out to us and said, "Let us proceed to the Jews." So we went along with him till we reached Bait-al-Midras (a place where the Torah used to be recited and all the Jews of the town used to gather). The Prophet stood up and addressed them, "O Assembly of Jews! Embrace Islam and you will be safe!" The Jews replied, "O Muhammad! You have conveyed Allah's message to us." The Prophet said, "That is what I want (from you)." He repeated his first statement for the second time, and they said, "You have conveyed Allah's message, O Muhammad." Then he said it for the third time and added, "You should know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to exile you from this land, so whoever among you owns some property, can sell it, otherwise you should know that the Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle." (See Hadith No. 392, Vol. 4).

Mr Chavda: the Pakistanis do want to reunite with rest of the Indian Subcontinent - only after the Muslims are the majority and they can establish a shariat!
You can help in the process by converting to Islam and getting circumcised!

Hey Why Include Only India & Pak. But include the whole of SAARC Nations. If it cannot united atleast we could make it as borderless nations with common military, Foreign Policy etc. Then this kashmir problem will become irrelevant.
I think this is only solution to issue. But the vested interest will allow this dream to happen
I guess what Mr. Mush..rr..rough will achieve, or for that matter, where Pakistan will land itself in the end. They are basically obsessed with their religion, not their state, for that matter. They think that India is a Hindu country and as Hindus they have no right to have a state dominated by Islam to be under their control. What they fail to understand is that our country is like a Ocean where people of all religions feel secure and composed and also are free to carry on with their lives with all the freedom. They should know that ours is the only country where the Muslim population is more than their own. So, do the Indian Muslims not have a right to lay claim on whole of Kashmir as their own? For that matter, who is Musha..rr...rough to decide or think on what the people of our country are getting, feeling, or want? He should look into his territory and people and see what he has done to improve the way of living of people, what he has been able to provide them during all his rule, and what he can do for them, instead of wasting a lifetime opportunity he has got as a head of state.
I think we as Indians need to start a counter movement with regular protests, counter claims, and things that assert solidarity and bring it into the focus of the International media, like what the Pakis do spread a propaganda, though we will be presenting the true picture.
I think Mr. Musharraf should take out time to go to a Mental Asylum so that he can be cured of his obsession and life-threatening thoughts that are becoming a bedrock to spread hatred and hate among people not only that closer to his country but also throughout the world.

That is a joke right? India is a country riven with fault lines along issues of religion, caste, politics, regionalism, wealth, etc. And it has the most dishonest English language media - through which the ROTW tries to understand India.
I would like that Mr. Umer Farooq and his hurriyat confrence before going to further talks or any agreement should publish their stand and pakistani stand in the local newspapers and go for refrandom on these basis in Kashmir first . As we kashmiri wants a full time settlement .

Dream on Parveez, they would never do that and you would never live in Peace! Hurriyat people are a well known Timid set of people who have never taken a firm stand till today.
If Musharraf really want's to discourage people hostile to peace, then he has very simple actions to do.
1. Stop funding LET and dismatle their camps in POK. 2. Arrest Hizb Chief Salahuddin and hand him over to India for his various crimes against humanity. 3. Stop playing double game. One in front of media as a peace proponent and the other in back room encouraging people like Gheelani by funding them and their factions. 4. Stop inviting diruptive elements like Mirwaiz Farooq and give them hope, when the reality is India has passed a resolution in the parliement that says J&K is an integral part of India. This means whatever drama Pakistan does we are not going to negotiate about giving an inch of our land.
I'm being pragmatic and magnanimous here and stopping from putting Pakistan in a fix. Actually India has the rights to put following conditions for peaceful co-existence with Pakistan.
1. Kargil war, 1965 war, 1947 war damages payment from Pakistan. 2. Pakistani President shoud appologize to Indian people for sponsoring the terrorist activities in various parts of India. 3. Be ready to negotiate on the POK part of Kashmir with India. Since India legally owns it. 4. Hand over all the terrorists, who reside in Pakistan that the Indian police wants for various crimes committed in India. People like Dawood Ibrahim.
