Zeeshan is thinking a lot about the jewish consipracy. ( See his reply to Manoj M post below). There are people who think the twin tower was blasted, and that too muslims were involved in that. When Bidwai writes these truths, people should post an alternate view, rather than panicking!
Spreading democracy for a better world is of course a good idea. But that is not the best option. According to me, the best idea is to teach the people all over the world to think beyond their man-made, literally %u201Cman%u201D-made, religious believes and to integrate. Religions and the fear that generated by these religions were a must in the Stone Age. But in the present world, when we blindly believe and follow such religions, unfortunately only the negative aspects and rituals, that shows we are not better than the Stone Age civilization.
The regime change in Iraq will not change the root Islam based mindset of the Iraqis and therefore, the people will not enjoy the so-called, I say great, democratic values. The execution of Saddam aides recently is a classic example of the inhuman mindset of them. Saddam did all the atrocities because he was in power. If any other Iraqi was in power, he would have somewhat practiced the same way.
Yes, a revolution is a must, a revolution in the minds of each and every inhabitant on earth and that should help the people to come out of their religious cocoons.
I like Bush%u201Ds idea of spreading democracy in the world. But I am completely against the path he chose to do that. If Bush has any concern towards the people of Iraq, he should admit his mistake of invading Iraq completely against the UN and International opinions. It will pave the way for the International force under the UN to take over the control from the US force currently in Iraq. An International force will be more acceptable to the Iraqi people and it will also help them to understand the concern of the International community towards them.
In the end, when the Iraqis take over the control from the International force, there must have a strong democratic-based-constitution and there must not have any religious, say Islam laws, involvement or influence in that constitution.
It was deliberate plan by the Americans to kill Saddam & take charge of the oil wells in Iraq. American will stay there for atleast 50 years & will setup their business in gas & oil.
No one can deny the fact that Saddam Husain was a dictator. But the way he is executed is also very shameful. It all has been done in haste. He should have been handed over to International Court of Justice. I strongly condemn execution of Saddam
It is inthe bllod of the Americans. President killed many by bombing Hiroshima President Nixon killed many innocent civilians in Vietnam. President Bush continues to kill the Iraqis and the people of Afganistan. After some years some other US president will kill people of some other nation for some reason known to them only.
it is a pity that the us a country which we look at as a role model is becoming a role model for a bully. it is the media of us to blame mostly for. The media has in name of nationalism looked and promoted the administration's view point. But it is heartening to know that the media is realising its mistake and changing. Let us hope that the americans in future will see in true prospective the deeds(misdeeds) of their government.
I dont think anybody is here to or should sanitise Saddam's attrocities but the question here is of the process and proprietry to prosecute him. Also pre 1991 Iraq under Saddam was a far progressive nation in comparison to many of its medevial era shadow type neighbours. And if brutality was the only parameter to be brought to justice all post was US presidents should face trial!!!.. plus our own subcontinental leaders reposnsible for ethic riots causing deaths of genocidal propotions...of Punjabis and Bengalis during partition, Bengalis during 1971, Kashmiris and Pandits in J&K, Muslims in Western India....For those who speak on behest and behalf of justice cannot have different standards for different people nor should they suffer from selective amnesia!!
Mr. Bush has proved himself as the biggest threat to the world peace. His attitude says clearly that he is the Terroist in power. His intentions are very clear that he wants to prove himself biggest war criminal by continuing his unethical war strategies.

yes I agree you. Bush is the biggest Terrorist in the world. He is the killer of thousands of Iraquies as well as Americans and Britanies.
Saddam deserved what he got. It is easy to make comments while sitting in India. One needs to visit Iraq and see what was the condition of the Shiite Iraqis before making a comment on whether the hanging was vengeful or not. The killing of 142 Shiites is only one of many cases. In 1992, Saddam attacjed his own people with chemical weapons and entered the Shrines in Karbala and opened fire inside the Shrines. Go to Karbala - the bullet marks are yet on the pillars at ground level - he shot people inside the shrine.

Do not talk about karbala and saddam now. Bush is eliminating both Sunnis and Shias now, later he will hand over the power to kurds and eliminate all.nobody will exist then iraq, that day is not too far
