Not to Sanitise Saddam!!
by NIKHIL VIJAYAN on Jan 16, 2007 11:36 AM

I dont think anybody is here to or should sanitise Saddam's attrocities but the question here is of the process and proprietry to prosecute him. Also pre 1991 Iraq under Saddam was a far progressive nation in comparison to many of its medevial era shadow type neighbours. And if brutality was the only parameter to be brought to justice all post was US presidents should face trial!!!.. plus our own subcontinental leaders reposnsible for ethic riots causing deaths of genocidal propotions...of Punjabis and Bengalis during partition, Bengalis during 1971, Kashmiris and Pandits in J&K, Muslims in Western India....For those who speak on behest and behalf of justice cannot have different standards for different people nor should they suffer from selective amnesia!!
