Comparing Indians and Chinese
by KK on Feb 23, 2007 10:47 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Here in the US, the Chinese are the ones who are really respected. No matter how much the Indians act like the westerners, they are always seen as second class citizens.
After all we are the real corrupt people (including Indians abroad!).

thanks

Before expecing respect from others we need to respect ourselves.
People who who use "they" for their countrymen should first clear their minds as to where they belong.
Perhaps nowhere!!!

Bang On. We demean ourselves. We prostrate before white skins. You will be amazed that 5times out of 10 if I and a foreigner reach the reception of a hotel at the same time .. the gora is attended to first.

Whenever we have a gora comes visiting we are so proud to show him our backwardness.

We show them slums we dont show them the wonder of how the underpriviledged live side by side with the priviledged without any acrimony (unthinkablein gora land),

we show them cows on roads we dont show them our compassion for every living being (they remove their destitutes out of sight),

we show them our chaotic traffic we dont tell them that because of this with 10 times more traffic incidents we have 10 times lesser fatalities on the road than NY thx to our chaotic traffic.

We need to get out of the gora complex. Remember while we were debating the finer points of mathematics, astronomy & philosophy the poor gora was trying to figure out how to wipe his red rear. Admitted he has progressed since then, but we are no way inferior to him.

Be a proud Indian

India is far behind the Chinese
by KK on Feb 23, 2007 10:44 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The present day Chinese are the real hard working people. The present day Indians are people who can only act like westerners, and lack original ideas and innovative thinking.
But I am sure we can change.
First of all we must admit that we have all become corrupt. Also, it is the rich who are the most corrupt people in India.

Thanks,
KK

Go ahead, please do the honors.
Proclaim that you are corrupt and try to change yourself, other's will follow :)
Just a basic question first, when you say 'we' do you mean 'we indians' , 'we chinese' or 'we british' :)
I have made my assumptions tough.

Why shouldn't I make this general statement? Isn't that true ?
In fact it is very likely that all you guys posting messages here are corrupt too.

We use to supply 35% of the world during 1750.

Before making such statements kindly go through world corruption beureau's report.

India tops the corruption and china in second place follows us.

So it is not a general statement that we are corrupt. But it is real when compared to the corruption level and attitudes of other countries.

Mr. Sikri is biased analysts and a disgruntled beurocrat- it is impractical
by G S on Feb 23, 2007 01:40 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Let us first ask what we will gain out of this proposal. I believe NOTHING %u2026

1. Will Chinese stop at Indo - Tibet border? Will they give up Askai Chin and also claim on other Indian territory. NO!

Chinese ambassador sitting in India puts up claims for Indian Territory. (I am surprised why he is not thrown out). Only our friendship with US can unsettle them.

2. Will china stop close partnership with Pakistan .NO!.
Chinese know if US puts their weight behind India then they have a reason to fear, and will not be able to bully India anymore. Yes I am saying they are bullying us, see left parties reactions to Chinese ambassador%u2019s claims. Everybody in the country is silent on this.

3. Will Russia stop co-operating with India. No! India already has all the latest what Russia has to offer. And Russia can not offer more advances in technology. It will be impractical to snap their relationship.

This is impractical to be part of an alliance which smells of anti-US posture.
USA is technological most advance country.

Advantages --
The only reason China is entertaining some talks from India because of fear of US. Russia is coming with better business offers because of loosing ground to USA.
Pakistan is nervous because of US closeness. Even though we were close to Russia was Pakistan nervous earlier. NO!

USA hosts largest number of Indian professionals in every part of their life. We should be realistic and thinking (what can benefit India), and not get swept by rhetoric of past.
PLEASE THINK AND SUPPORT INDO US Friendship, do not be suspicious. We Indians are everywhere in USA.
Patriotic Indian

Can't support INDO-US friendship @ any cost...myself being an IT prefessional..still.Gotta get over U.S agression and fear.We should learn to lead not to follow..we now have enuf potential to develop our own market..can't keep selfish personal desires to torture humanity and human values.I really wish for a battle to wipe out that country out of the world map.God will punish them soon..mark my words.

You are masking your name. Anyway you do not have any sound logic. Just being IT professional is not the qualification. There is no US aggression at least for non- terrorist country. Pakistani will fear that as they are hiding terrorist and telling lies. They support Kashmiri terrorist, taleban and other jihadist.
India is bold and admired, and it has nothing to fear, we will be most gaining.
China esp. is hand in glove with pakistan and we have to be careful in joining with them. There is no action on ground, they still hold large chunk of indian terrirtory and I being indian will like that to be vacated before even thinking of siding with them. Business is other thing.

Mr. Patriotic Indian,

You seem to forget that significant amount of China's economy depends on the U.S. Significant number of Chinese people work in the U.S. just like Indians. However, they have an independent foreign policy based on their sole interest. There is no "INDO-US Friendship" as you mention, there is only common interests. I believe India should keep its options open. Joining the SCO does not necessarily mean its an Anti-US alliance as the author of the article makes it out to be. It may very well have an agenda which is very regionalized. Just to let you know I am an american indian and would respectfully disagree with you thinking.

I appreciate your polite difference of opinion, as I am american Indian too. Independent foreign policy of india was never independent, and joining SCO will atleast a continuation in that direction, if not handled carefully.
I am a realist and I feel returns are not good if we join a organization like SCO, esp with China. Ideally everybody would like independent foreign policy , but before that we need to strengthen our tech. base, our defence and secure our borders more firmly. So that country like can not bully. Please tell me indian leadership is tolerating Chinese ambassador in India or why before chinese foreign ministers travel recently india was reminded of disputes that it has with china. When are we going to say no for no...or else keep joining such organization and nullyfying our newfound interest. I am just worried, to be honest.

I agree.
All these co-operation etc. are coming after
US deal. We should not forget US.
Also, We don't trust any gurantee with these
guy(s) who coming as friendship & after
effectively down the dominance of US, they will
change their habit any time. And at that time,
we won't have anybody to help. So, better
careful! We already had experience in the past.
It would be for India to be act wise & stand
a balanced approach.

Multip Polar world is a must
by harish rayapudi on Feb 23, 2007 12:15 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Multip Polar world is a must to contain US. With its military presence in more than half of the countries in the world there is no challenge to US. CIR(China-India-Russia placed alphabetically) with their independent foreign policy and economical strengh, should form a stragetic group and should work for regional cooperation. Its nice that they thought of building a civilian aircraft to compete with Boeing and Airbus. The resource should be shared among CIR and should work like EU(atleast by not forming an alliance which will provoke US)...Multi polar world a must for future centuries to contain Arrogant US foreign policies.

The world has reached a point that it is important that countries like India & China with a strong cultural background needs to stand up and form a alliance or face the consequence of countries like USA, BRITAIN who have been the foundation of destruction & all the major wars for the past 200 years. The foreign policies and organisation like UN,IMF,WORLD BANK are just ground for thair destructive foreign policies

Good analysis by Mr Sikri.

China & Russia seem to be quite ready, & into the game. India, the latecomer, hopefully learns quickly, & maintains its place of honour on the table...
