After reading comments here and activities of Hindutva brigades in newspaper, I have to say Hindu fanaticism is on rise. If sensible Hindus do not react now they will regret in same way as sensible Muslsims are regreting now; probably they should have stopped it before. Today newspapers are filled with Islamic terrorism tomorrow they will be filled with Hindu terrorism.

You are true that Muslims (Arabs/Persians) told US Hindus, which is not a religion rather than a culture or civilisation. If Jain and Buddhists were living peacefully then why Kingdom of Ashoka (Buddhists) disappeared before Muslsims came to India. It didn't disapper, ashoka himself was a hindu who converted to buddhism. Most people didn't convert. Also Buddhism and Jainism were just branches of the same Indian culture. There was no concept of religion in India before islam and christianity because people were free to believe in any and as many form of god as they chose.

Slavery was present till LAST century in United States, how can you point a finger at islam in 8 A.D.? Islam was established after Christianity and Judaism and religious crusades have been waged for a long time before that. Muhammed preached equality for all people, no caste systems, equal status for people. The prophet waged war in the instance when the safety of his own people was being threatened. What is happening in this world today is not a result of mohammad's teachings rather a lack of understanding and respect of each other. Emotional Backlashes and attacks for political and social gains are not to be mixed with religion. So RAJ, why don't you take your out of context information and preach for hate out of this forum. Every religion has done bad things. During the period of King Asoka the whole india became buddist. Then the revival of Hiduiusm started by killing all the buddist monks, destroying all the buddist temples and much more.Hidu Tamil Kings conqured Far east asian countries and looted them.
