Dear Francois, Thanks for a great article. Its good that a non-hindu wrote it otherwise the congress and the ilk would've labelled him a communalist.
Finally someone had the nerve to express my feelings about having an Aurangzeb Rd. in our national capital. We're saluting one of the most hideous monters to have walked on this planet. I'm not a communalist. I hate Narendra Modi and Bal Thackeray for I know they're hell bent on dividing India for their ulterior motives. I also won't like to blame today's muslims for their forefathers' crimes but do we have to rever a monster to be labelled a secularist?
If today the road name is changed, there'll be a huge uproar and more than the muslims, it'll be our pseudo-secalarists viz congress and the likes who'll make it seem like the most heinous crime being perpetrated on the minorities... With their attitude it won't be long before moderates like me will look to Modis and the Thackerays as their only saviour and that'll be a great tragedy.
Thanks Francois again for treading a path where not many would've had the courage to go. Hope this might act as an eyeopener for our fellow countrymen and hopefully we may give a deservedly new title to the person who once ruled India - that of a hideous villain and a monster.
I dont realy understand what Francois Gautier is trying to say? Why is it that anything bad done by a muslim is considered to be sanctioned or permitted in ISLAM and if the same misdeed is done by others, the blame is on a individual and not his religion. All those people who think that ISLAM is intolerant should first read about ISLAM from the authentic sources and then form an opinion. People like Francois are nothing but mischief makers who try to highlight bad/cruel muslims only. If only everyone becomes more tolerent rather respectful towards others religion than there will be true peace and harmony in this world.I think the first step towards this should be taken by so called first world countries which has so many educated and liberal citizens.......so please start moving!!

Truth always hurts and what the author has done is just bring the bare facts out. He has only sought to put the record straight but has never given the impression that he was somehow trying to link the deeds of Aurangzeb, the individual, to Islam. I don't think you have understood the article in the right perspective. We must appreciate the author for all the research and hardwork that has gone into his writing.
The French's assisting Nazis or the Swiss' neutrality in WW-II is no comparison to the much contrived facts in Indian history. The first point I feel- the author has not brought out any unknown facts. He has merely reinforced a few of them. The author's point of moderate and modern Muslim leaders was good and we need such ones in every religion- Christian, Muslim, Sikh, Hindu as well. When religion has come out the personal spheres of people's lives into a social order, every religion has to conform to modern human notions . And that means- the Hindu repenting for the tarnished caste structure; the Muslim accepting the religious atrocities; the Christian the overwhelming penetration into many a culture, tribe in the world...
i applaud you Francois Gautier, not just for a brave article but also for the fact that you didn't hide behind a veil of political correctness. it is a shame that today we are trying to forget our own history (thanks largely to arjun singh and the Marxists) simply because it shows a particular community in bad light. my compliments to you, hope you can come up with more such insights and if you can have this exibition in bangalore as well, a guaranty you, you will at least one very interested visitor.

Really its shame for us that these distructive type of column writer are there to make difference in the INdia like VHP and RSS is doing , there is no need of making such statement without any base , and he has not mentioned that how many temples he made in his own INdia still farman is there with Banaras pujari.and rediff should not publicise these type of statement wihtout any base.its shame. and the person should be hanged if anyone tries to make difference between indian , Hindustan Zindabad.

I appreciate your feeling of being Indian. I think you took the article wrongly or may be didn't read completely. It just talks about atrocities caused by one dictator- Aurangjeb and nothing to divide Muslims and Hindus. Rather it encourages the unity .
