An appeal to the opposition parties
by sisir majumder on Feb 10, 2007 02:39 PM  Permalink

Industrialisation in west Bengal is hampered by the unwanted agitation or creating violence, murder etc.The peaceful life of the simple villagers is affected by the unscrupulous, irresponsible, unwise, activities of Mamata and her company. What she wants? people want development and employment-generation programmes which are taken by the Govt. and some Industrialists who want to invest in Bengal. But on the other hand Mamata and her co,does not allow Govt. to acquire land. Govt has the power to acquire Land for the interest of the State and her people.So,Govt.should take strong steps to tackle the situation for Devt.Progm.Political leaders have no right to disturb the peaceful life of the simple villagers. Villagers want development and alt. employment,Justified compensation etc.The pol.parties instigate them to take Law in their own hands. An unfortunate incident took place.Who will be responsible for this unwanted, unfortunate incident? The opp.paties should think over the matter. This incident must not be repeated. They should response to the consultation-call of the chief minister. Good sense may create in the minds of the Oppsition parties.

Have you spoken to the farmers???
by prasun bhattacharjee on Feb 09, 2007 03:17 PM  Permalink

The agitation is not coming from farmers. Farmers are happy and they know the development will be here. I have spoken to the farmers group and they are quite happy that a TATA Factory is rising here. You know the land owners 1 family member is already taken by TATA. When TATA were making there factory in Jharkhand they have shown very good response to the villagers by appointing each member of the land owner family. I have directly spoken to the Farmers they say in every night the people come from outside so who are they????

You know if this factory is erected then there would be no oposition in West Bengal. West Bengal village people totally support CPM as they have shown in election.

Singur & Nandigram
by ramachandran nair on Feb 09, 2007 03:09 PM  Permalink

Towards development of States and in turn nation, it is imperative that we should put in place the required infrastrature, make the ground for industries to step into the states. In such an eventuality, the government has to provide the required land to the industry to locate. Once industry is started, there ought to be employment generation directly and indirectly to locals as well as outsiders. Therefore it would be in fitness of things, if the government acquires the land from farmers by paying them the market price or otherwise provide them with alternate sites coupled with compensation. For all this to happen, there should be a will amongst the leaders of political parties. Left party wants to develop the state whereas Mamta and company would not allow this to happen as a custodian and guardian of the farmers. This lady is unnecessary creating problem and coming in the way of WB. Left Government in WB should be courages and go ahead with the proposal of setting up industries either by Tatas sor Reliance. This is only way out to bring in the state to mainstream of development and eradicate proverty to a large extent. Hope, political wisdom prevails upon the leader and refrain from making hindrance towards development.

It looks Govt has come under pressure...
by faisal tabrez on Feb 09, 2007 02:51 PM  Permalink

I believe Communists are fighting at two front now. They have opened two fronts and it has got the nerves. One side it is newly formed policy and on other hand the old theory of anti industrialist (pro poor). Communists have put themselve in deep blue sea where they have no idea how to swim out. Think and consult before you do was the only way what they never did well. I fear if they loose in future assembly or even in between if all this turns up to president rule.

Killing of a Sub-Inspector at Nandigram
by Shridhar Iyer on Feb 09, 2007 02:45 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Coming after Singur trouble, it appears that Industries can not be started in West Bengal due to one reason or the other.

Govt has the right to acquire land, in the interest of the State/Nation, by compensating the owners of the properties to be acquired. If the price is not adequate, they can always seek the help of Courts.

Killing of a Sub-Inspector, who has come to the place to discharge his duty, is very unfortunate. Wonder the people have taken the law into their hands!.

The Govt should strictly administer law and order, and do not allow any associations or groups of people to take law into their hands.

Singur, Nandigram, and other such incidents should have sent strong signals to the people who might have thought about investing in the State, and they must have decided by now, as to whether to proceed further or not.

With best wishes,

V.Srinivasan.

Thank you very much for this type of writing in the Web. I fully agree with you which is going on in Singur and Nandigram. It is not a good signal from our State to the Investors who are shown interest to invest in the State. State Government as well as political parties irrespective of their will do not encourage this type of mischeivous consequences.

if all is fair then why the demonstrations and support
by Ashok Gupta on Feb 09, 2007 02:21 PM  Permalink

If land is required let the Govt.or the industrialists purchase it by floating the offered price. The insterested sellers will come forward and sell if the price is good.
Forcefully taking over any land is wrong. Govt.is the custodian of its people and must rehabilitate those they seek to dislocate. It is as simple as this but not so because there is apparently more to this than the eye can see. Hence the trouble

What type of development??
by prasun bhattacharjee on Feb 09, 2007 02:01 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

They come by shouting slogans. They come in group of 10 to 15 or 25.They always fight for others. They always die for others or kill for others. Who are they??
The sub-inspectors family member also wants to agitate now against whom?
Who are they??
A poor villager has no time to think more than his two time meal. A poor villager don't know where they were heading by them.
who are they??
A poor farmer says " Babura je keno aamader aeka chede den na. Aamader aeka chaidye dao aamra bachte chai." Live us alone with our condition.

A Vinay mallik farmer says " Babura je keno aamader aeka chede den na. Aamader aeka chaidye dao aamra bachte chai." Live us alone with our condition.

A Dasu Lohar farmer says " Babura je keno aamader aeka chede den na. Aamader aeka chaidye dao aamra bachte chai." Live us alone with our condition.

A Runu lakhra farmer says " Babura je keno aamader aeka chede den na. Aamader aeka chaidye dao aamra bachte chai." Live us alone with our condition.

A all farmer says " Babura je keno aamader aeka chede den na. Aamader aeka chaidye dao aamra bachte chai." Live us alone with our condition.

So who are they??? What type of development??

Chede de maan kende banchi.

If they do leave people then whom the will lead and leaders always want to lead, what so ever if the group is of hooligans or desi goondas.

Even our parliament has a fair share of it.

So leaders are either leader of them or himself like them.

This is now the new form of violence in India. Some mean mind ppls are hiring/engaging hooligans with a bootle of country liquore or sth to give demonstration a violent color. Therefore these demonstrations/demonstrators always forget the very cause. Common ppls definitely are negotiable and they can be persuaded to involve in the development. But its the so called mean leaders instigate them not to do so.
