If Mr.Dutts lawyer argues Mr.Dutt has not committed any offence because he bought the weapons for self protection and not for committing crime,he is right.Mr.Dutt should be let free.
Honourable court may also pass an order that any body in India can buy weapons (be it a pistol or an assault rifle or may ba a hand granade) from any one ,but only for SELF PROTECTION.No need of any license, ofcourse.

Hi Faiz, I will ask for police protection or I will hire personal bodyguards (if I were Sanjay Dutt).
Important thing to nore - possessing weapons is no gurantee that you are protected. And sometimes your own weapon could be a potential security hazzard.

well zaid marz, under normal circumztancez yez your comment makez zenze and I would have to agree with you but if you remember the riotz than you will know thoze were dayz of looting, burning, killingz, bloodzhed, etc. itz hard for a perzon to be normal and to think normaly when everything around iz no abnormal and zo wrong. i think you would probably not be able to get zecurity from police in the firzt place becauze the police would be dezperately zhort-handed in trying to keep the peace.

how can you expect to take up police job. when rioting is causing why dont you try Gandhigiri in stead Sanjubabagiri?
For self protection any one need AK-47. Is there any way any citizen can have AK-47 for self protection? This is really funny the way his lawyer arguing. If a layman is not allowed to have .22 gun illegally then how come he can have AK-47 illegally. Really our laws rocks all the world. Shame on our lawyers and judges. That also hearing after so many years. Oh god who will save India.
