Election and Power
by unnikrishnan kurup on Feb 03, 2007 11:53 AM  Permalink

Though the Saffron alliance had emerged as the gainer they need the support from others. Arun Gawli's ABS will play an important role by offering both the seat they won and taking the Mayor Berth. The saffron should now they have the peoples supports and should work again from the root level to gain the lost glory of State and Centre election. In Mumbai the Saffron allaince is required to tackle the fear from the terrorist.

Hope for Some Good Work
by bharat on Feb 03, 2007 11:49 AM  Permalink

Congratulations to BJP-Shiv Sena upon the victory. At the same time, please do not get carried away by this victory. It is not that the people voted for you because they are mighty pleased with you. It is more because they are tired of the incumbent ruling party in the state. So, BJP-SS, consider youselves lucky in that respect. Consider yourselves lucky that you could win despite in fighting with your house.

Having got this oppurtunity, its time to forget the internal differences (particularly within Shiv Sena) and stand united. Grab this oppotunity with both hands and perform good work in your respective cities. Show the results to the people and in the next elections, win because of your own good work and not on account of what the other party failed to do.

Wish you all the best.

Public rallies or public sallies?
by on Feb 03, 2007 11:45 AM  Permalink  | Hide replies

What a pity. All that the sena did was rail at the President, the PM and the head of the Congress party before the election. And that too in a quavering voice.

Perhaps Bollywood will be so kind as to suggest a way to kill it.

Pray the Sena will engage in something more productive than the name game. Perhaps a superior life for wild animals for starters now that there are very few left to 'shoot'.

But all the congress did was divide the nation in rich and poor, forward caste and backward caste and hindu and Muslim. This is the right slap on congress face.

Congradulation to Shivsena, but nobody pointout that the %votes has been reduced for Shivsena, also they got the less seats as compare to the previous elections. Also they dont have the majority as they need suuport from independents.
It means that there is a loss by Rane and Raj.

Dear Pravin Naik,
Yes, I agree with you where the numbers are concerned, but Naturally, when a hand or leg is cut, the weightage of the body reduces, nevertheless but the spirit always remains the same. Similarly, handicapped people develop many strong senses, which outsmarts normal people also. Same has happend with Shiv Sena. So, I don't think your comment hold much value.

True the seats have decreased. No one can deny that there has been a dent left by the desertion of its prominent members. But what is significant is the fact that the Sena was written off by the political pundits. It was predicted that the Sena would be washed out in these elections. In a scenario where the Sena was coping with the desertion and where the BJP was reeling under the loss of its most powerful icon, this performance in the elections is most definately par excellence. That it will have to work towards getting back the lost seats is a realisation which no doubt would have already registered in the think tanks at Matoshree. Jai Hind Jai Maharashtra

Sena Win
by anilkumar nair on Feb 03, 2007 11:27 AM  Permalink

Congrats Shiv Sena. It is a clear victory against the centre & state ruling Congress who is currently playing the vote banking politics while appeasing certain castes & communities. This victory will happen in future elections also, if they follow such appeasement. They (Congress) should know that there are so many other people who are also staying in India and facing more financial and other problems than the people who is getting appeasement.

Ahmed,

Well said brother.... Its not that we Hindu's want to fight against you bros... but the fact is that majority of the terrorist activities wprldwide has been performed by Muslims. Hence there is a natural insecurity feeling that has developed. Neverthe less I have lots of Muslim friends who come with me for GANESH VISARJAN and I do participate in ID and Ramzan festivels.

Guys please, no religion says kill each other. but there is a definite difference in the teolerance level.

I wish INDIA should remain a secular country where people of all religions respect each other as a human being and not on the basis of his religion and / or caste...

Lets hope this hatred vanishes from our hearts...

Remember DIWALI has ALI and RAMZAN has RAM!!!!!!!!

Mr Ahmed has spoken where his heart lies. Asking for muslims brothers to vote for SP show the cheap mentality of muslims. They would only vote for a party which can appease them and not for party which would think good for the country, because these muslims only one thing Islam. For them Islam is superior to their country..............????? crab mentality

If Islam is your only final point. Then go to Islamabad. Why eat bread of Hindustan and pray Pakistan. people like u who have no respect for country and practice casteism should be kicked out. Only then u will realise that how Hindustan & its hindu people are great hearted who knowing all your motives still gave place in their hearts & on their Matrabhoomi. Will u will be so generous towards us. It is only your cheap mentality & selfishness that u speaked out your heart like this. Had u done such a thing in Islamic country, U well know the consequences.

Shiv Sena's votes cannot be broken
by amay on Feb 03, 2007 10:57 AM  Permalink

NO, its wrong thinking of Udhav bcoz sena votes has already been broken by Raj Thakeray's MNS. Sena-Bjp win only bcoz magic of Balasaheb Thakeray's last two messages in mumbai & thane. As compare both parties Sena & MNS, Sena has a long history of 40 yrs where is MNS.?Even if total seat counted in maharashtra Sena got 230 seats whreras MNS got 35 & its not small number & its only Raj Thakerays independent seat without any involvement of other parties. On the other hand Sena has joint with Bjp.And it is also not countable on how many places Sena-Bjp lost their seats due to MNS candidate.
