Sena's Victory and Congress' Rout
by Rajesh Vyas on Feb 05, 2007 12:08 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The people of Mumbai have given a solid and firm slap on the face of congress and their leader Sonia Gandhi.

The smart lady (AT least she thinks she is very smart in the company of numerous sycophants) has paid dearly for supporting rank communalists. What else do you call the likes of Sanjay Nirupam and Narayan Rane, who were mere mouth-pieces of Balasaheb Thackrey and were spewing VENOM against Muslims until very recently.

Can Mrs. Gandhi explain how these rank and staunch communalists--who were Thackrey's lackeys and chamchas became secular overnight and started enjoying Mrs. Gandhi's favours.

CONGRESS--THY NAME IS OPPORTUNISM AND NO PRINCIPLES. YOU WILL STOOP DOWN TO ANY LEVEL FOR POWER. THE WORD SECULARISM DOES NOT SUIT YOU ONE BIT AS LONG AS THE LIKES OF NIRUPAM AND RANE ARE IN YOUR FOLD!!!

Congratulations to ShivSena/BJP coalition fro winning these elections and proving that people love it enough to vote it to power.

Generally I am a Congress supporter, but it is only at the time of election. After elections, I want the party who wins the election to work for improving basic facilities for fellow human beings who voted (or not voted) them to power irrespective of gender, social status, caste and lastly religion in a nonpartisan way.

All parties are corrupt because power corrupts people. Lets assume, even if I am of high ideals and if I enter the political field, I know that it will be only a matter of couple of months before I dump my lofty ideals and work for my own or my friends or my relatives betterment instead of the ordinary people. I dont blame politicians...they become corrupt because they want to hold-on to power. This is what everyone will do.

I see always people refer to Congress rule as a dynastic rule. But that is part and parcel of any family in politics be it ShivSena first family, Mulayam Family, Gandhi family or Laloo family.

Couple of years back an incident happened in the RSS parivar convention. I still dont understand the need for RSS to give undue importance to Varun Gandhi that they called him to attend some RSS convention. Only two people attended from BJP (Mr Advani and Varun Gandhi). I still dont understand why they gave undue importance to this kid from the Gandhi dynasty over many of the other proven leaders of BJP at that time ( Ms Sushma, Mr Jaitley, Mr Modi, Late Mr Mahajan). It seems like even though it is fashionable to detest the congress dynastic rule, they gave unwanted importance to a Gandhi kid. So they too felt like using the great gandhi family name for their own good. Why did not they take Veer Savarkar grandson who was found as a destitute living on the streets to the RSS convention with Mr Advani? Why give importance to Sanjay Gandhis son. Why? Why ? Why? Why?

Politicians be corrupt but also please serve the poor. Please just Dont only loot the country but also build infrastructure

Jai Hind. God Bless Hindustan. God Bless our Country. God Bless the people of out country with the greatest prosperity seen by mankind.

Mr. Shah,

I usually do not reply to anyone who cannot respect other views. Please note that by saying that you have only nullified the whole purpose of elections. This was a BMC elections, we have elected them for our future.

I dont see any reason why you should be using such language. By the way I have not voted to any party because I dont feel anyone is good here or is going to work for us.

And thank you for your lines, I guess you need to first learn to live in a society. I invite only critics and people who live have Jungle Culture.

Any party other than the congress party will do. The congress party has done nothing that has benefitted to the people. This party should not be allowed to fight elections in india. India has not and will not prosper or progress under congress government be it at centre or any state. This is a high time that they do something now that they are in power or just do to dumps in the next election. Good that sena is back even though it is just a minor victory. The trend has to change and I would like to see india develop into a superpower very very soon. PLEASE DO NOT ELECT OR SUPPORT CONGRESS PARTY.

First of all Congratulations to Shiv Sena on winning the elections which had the record maximum turnout for the BMC elections. I used to be a supporter of Shiv Sena when I was a kid.
A few tips for them and a few facts about them
- Shiv Sena is the party which has really brought about women empowerment. There is no other party which has women so actively participating in the elections. Shiv Sena always had women candidates even before reservation.
- Though Shiv Sena claims to be a Hindu party, it actually is not a Hindu party. It is rather a party supporting local people, and it should get it right. There are so many Muslims supporting Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena never had any bias against Muslims internally or while helping them at the lowest levels. But what they advertise is otherwise - they should stop doing that.
- Shiv Sena has the best network of Shakas and Upa-Shakas. This network helps them to reach out people better. I have seen the upa-shakas helping many people irrespective of religion, caste or gender or even origin. There were instances where North Indians would go to the shakas for help and would be offered it.
- Shiv Sena is progressive - why does every one forget the infrastructure revolution - why does every one forget the Slum rehab project. Though these projects are plagued by corruption, they were implemented atleast, or even attempted atleast. Why is no one noticing that? No other party had attempted or thought about this feat. Where would Mumbai have been without these flyovers? If the SRA was not started, where would we get the land from? No one is noticing that it was started.
- When people are talking of BMC being inefficient, do they realise wnder what pressures does the BMC operates? The babus in BMC have been with the same attitude for past so many years, even before Shiv Sena cam into power. So why balme just the Shiv Sena for the babus? Having said that I do agree that the corporation needs more agility and Shiv Sena should try to correct that.

I hope that now Shiv Sena has come in power, it should do some good work to show to the people what it really is and stop the stupid Hinduism and get back to development of the state and help for local people (Maharashtrians - irrespective of their caste or religion). Only a local party is capable of upliftment of the locals.

This win is just Bal Thakerays win.

About Raj Thakeray, I think he should have been with Shiv Sena and the party is responsible for sidelining him.

A clarification - I dont say that anyone should oppose non-Maharashtrians, but there should be preferential treatment for locals.

Also I would like Sam to tell me the instance of the daughter in law of Thakeray. Not that i am opposing you Sam, but it is unfortunate that i can not recollect. Is it about Rashmi Thakeray, Sharmila Thakeray or Smitha Thakeray?

Why would I jealous of my country and city which belongs to my country? As SS goondas claim that this is their city, we have to make a comparison. Whatever u say, u cannot hide the true color of the cartoon character in Matosree and the principle thy believe in..No outsider policy..the definition of outsider changes everytime..some times it is biharis, some times tamils, some times even Muslims though they have every right to live in this country.. Sam,

Is it not a pity that people like you are not fighting elections? You are opposed to the Shiv Sena (and not the SS of pre-WWII Germany) ;-) goondas.

If you have to stop Shiv Sena, then the thing to do is stand for election. So which is the party that you would choose? (hypothetically if you don't work for a party already).

Please don't give us the all political parties are rubbish answer. :-)

I am very proud of the Mahastrian sentiments//they live in fool's paradise that sons of the soil policy would work..It is better they stay in Mumbai. and not come to the south..Let Balasaheb take care of them from his Matoshree..

I personally am not a supporter of Shiv Sena, but I do agree with the "Lesser Evil" line of thought. I would definately rate Shive Sena higher than a Congress or NCP. When they first came to power in the state in 1995, they were the oneswho built those hige number of flyovers in the city. There are people who criticize them saying they got huge kickbacks, but I would say who wouldnt? Atleast it saves me a lot of time and effort driving on those. Imagine Mumbai without them today.
Congress is blaming Shiv Sena for 26/7 deluge. Shiv Sena has been ruling the BMC for past 10 years, why did this happen only this time? The major reason was illegal slums and unchecked encroachments along the areas that attributed to the rise in flood levels. Who gets these people to flock from outside states? Congress ofcourse to increase their vote banks. How else can one explain the entry of Northie craps like SP and BSP who have litreally destroyed UP and are hell bent on making Mumbai another UP. I personally am against outsiders comming to Mumbai at this stage, not because I am a racist but because the fact is that Mumbai is already overloaded and stressed out and it cannot accomodate any new entrants. When the people from other states flock Mumbai, they set up huts and homes and add on to already huge huge population of slums. 60% of Mumbai's population lives in slums. Where have these people come from? Hardly 30% of them are from Maharshtra. Rest all, outsiders. Where is the space for newcomers? Where is Shiv Sena wrong in sayng that Mumbai cannot accomodate any new migratn? After 26/7 I have personally seen Shiv Sena workers and Corporators work for the betterment of situation at ground level and as far as I know, they did not difefrentiate between Hindus and Muslims. There is lot of misconception amongst people regarding Shiv Sena. I am not saying they are the best, just thatr they are lesser evil than the others.
