Crap Article
by outspoken on Dec 29, 2007 04:56 PM  Permalink

Tarun Vijay is Advani's chela and is overwhelmed by Sindhi emotions. May be Advani dictated the article and he took an autorickshaw and went to Rediff office with a hard copy and put his name on top of it. It is Crap.

Sangh Parivar is Foolish - It Still Thinks There is Good Islam and Bad Islam
by Shivkumar Singh on Dec 29, 2007 12:51 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

Confused persons like Tarun dont realise that people are always good, it is ideology (in this case) islam that is the problem.

There is just one koran and one mohummad. Giving it multiple spins is not going to help any one least of all musalmaans.

Excellent Article

An excellent show of Benazir life and India's stand in brief.
Though this is a moment to pay tribute, she has given us a very good lesson to us. It is high time that Congress / BJP and Communists understand what terrorism yields.
Whether it is Hindu / Muslim / Sikh / Christian, when you breed terror, it will not take much time to be hit by the same rod. History has shown us in 1984. Once again, we got another one from our neighbor. Hope Indians will open up their eyes and stand against extremism - from any means.

RE:Rediff stop this nonsense

Raj you must be kidding. Nobody civilised and wise can claim specially your last couple sentences are hinting at ignorance. Islam means peace and you are saying there is no need for peace anyways we should be careful what we say. Please take the time and do some research. Its hard to believe that a poor country like pakistan can finance anything without aid from its masters. Any civilian in pakistan needs army permission on all major issues and Benazir was never allowed to address military matters therefore to be fair to the dead who is not there to respoond to you i think she deserves better. Lets remember our own death in the death of Benazir. Mow lets do our bit for peace and stop bullying.

i am surprised to note that people in the media are falling over each other to sing praises of a most corrupt politician in the indian sub continent who is supposed to have looted people of pakistan to the tune of $2 BILLION and her husband was known as mr 20% in pakistan .
she was a stooge of american war mongers. she encouraged TALIBANS to the tilt. russia and china simply said it was a cowardly / dastardly act . they did not write tributes in flowery language. of course it is bad manners to say bad things about a dead person . but where was the need to write eulogies to her . most hilarious was one mr geelani calling for kashmir bandh. kashmir is already band to majority of indians , as they can not get employment there / purchase property there etc. indian politicians are unique in the world and english media vies with them to touch its nadir

This idiot is no different from the likes of taklu Gupta of IE and eno Ram of The Anti-Hindu who showered praises on Musharaff and kissed his you-know-whhat, ridiculing Vajpayee and BJP in front of Pakis.

While, Benazir was a good politician, perhaps best among her contemporaries, and she is dead in such horrible manner. Certainly we all sympathize and feel sorry, but do not make her out to be a Bibi, Devta or a Goddess for chrissakes. This guys wants to hog rediff space.

Quintessential Hindu character of the Indian nation
by Fried Yakov on Dec 28, 2007 11:40 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

This proves beyond doubt that Only and only a strong Hindutva in India would allow this country to continue to progess with a democratically elected government. Our neighbours (previously part of Akhand Bharat) who do not follow the Hindu principles of life and living have degenerated into a state of total anarchy and negativism. It is imperative for us all to vigorously support and promote Hindutva if we want peace and progress in our country. I do not know when the common man and the people in power realise this fundamental truth which even non- Hindus realise. The history of parsis and Jews in India provide ample proof how communities marginalised in their own land by radical faiths were nurtured in Hindu India and allowed to blossom to be able to reveal their true potential. I am blessed that my ancestors stayed on in this great land and never ever had to witness any holocast.

I agree with you Yakov. India is a great nation..and I am proud to be part of it. However what troubles me is the constant questioning of my patriotism as a muslim.I also understand that many undesirable incidents have happened in the name of respective "Gods" that neither Islam nor Hinduism permits or supports. But brandishing an entire community is not hte way to go. I can appreciate the "quitessential Hindu" character that encourages assimilation..something the progressive Indian muslim community leaders should learn and propogate within our society. In today's situation, I too am thankful that my forefathers chose to stay in India instead of migrating to a country based on hate and religious extremism.

Bilwal,
There is no doubt in the patriotism of Indian Muslims. But the problem is their confusion whether to follow principles of Islam (universal brotherhood) or be patriotic to a country. Those who choose the former becomes fundamentalist and do things dictated by maulvis. No education can change them. Many leaders in al-qaeda were educated in top schools like London School of Economics. The perpetrator of London terror Kafeel Ahmed was a doctor. The fundamentalist prefer to be in a ghetto. On the other hand the moderate Islamists are neglected and they have no choice but to align with the fundamentalist. Absence of their voice during Kashmir problem, Islamic terrorism activities on majority, attack on Taslima emboldens the mullahs and sends a wrong message to other communities. In short, Indian Muslims particularly moderates has to introspect and act accordingly. As a first step they should participate in appointing mullahs for populous mosques and carefully interpret the sermons. The same holds for the appointment of members in AIMPLB. If not the reputation of both Indian Muslims and Islam will be questioned and there is no solution for it.

Dont be troubled have faith every one is not bad just like every one is not good. We all have friends and non-friends.Every thing is normal unless we start blaming a community for a person's mistake. At the same time its hard for people to ignore a community when quite large portion of a particular community is involved in killings of innocent people.

Mr Bilawal,
In today's world, Indian Muslim is intellectually the most successful in Muslim world. Also, Indian Muslim is the most tolerant and progressive thinking. The Indian mass (Hindus, Christians, Sikhs etc.) would never discriminate or single out Indian Muslim community. Indian Muslims' success compared their Pakistani counterpart is it's indication. So, I don't think that somebody's comment or ignorant singling out should affect your patriotism. Your patriotism would help you yourself, if not others. At the same time, you should condemn anti-national elements and help your countrymen in singling them out an punishing them whether it be a Muslim, Hindu, Sikh or Christian.

I think civilized society by "killing" them will not remain civilized itself. It is a sure way of "joining them". Yes, we need to protect and defend ourselves, but shoudl also think about modernisation and education of these misguided people. I see education and economic upliftment as the only way of negotiating extremism. Have compassion, instead of hate for others..violence is never the answer.

Bilawal Sheikh,
Once again you are slipping into denial mode like most of the muslims are. It is not education/employment or prosperity that gives rise to terrorists. It is ideology - may I say ISLAM that nurtures terrorist mind set. We saw the recent case - a suicide bomber from Bangalore. Was he less educated ? or under privileged ? NO - he was brainwashed by Mullas - ISLAMIC ideology.
We need to stop or reform the ideology of hate. The first step would be acknowledging the problem, then only solution can be found. People like you should take the lead.
