Thank You to People of Gujarat
by Simple Guy on Dec 25, 2007 02:06 AM  Permalink

People of Gujarat have given the right message to the pseudo-secularists (Congress/Left) and pseudo-journalists (Sheela Bhatt, Burkha dutt, Praful Bidwai, Prannoy Roy, etc).

But, I urge these pseudo-secularists to continue to come up with ridiculous minority appeasment policies. I also urge all pseudo-secularists (in addition to asking them taking an online journalism 101 course free of charge) to continue bashing and mis-reporting Modi/BJP/Hindu news/facts. This will only wake up general public more and more to find clarity on who stands where. This is exactly what people of Gujarat found.

HATS off to them for understanding who the correct leader for them is. Gujaratis have elevated themselves among all Hindus and Indians.

Trust Hindus!!!
by booglefull on Dec 25, 2007 01:14 AM  Permalink

With Hinduism being the oldest and the safest living practice in the world it should be in the interest of all indians to respect it and trust it irrespective of religion and caste. It can never be brutal on its own. It is the cradle of civilizations. It teaches the principle of live and let live. It is a fact that a hindu is the one living in india and not someone following polytheism. It may be that if someone has faith in the religion born out of the country is called hindustani-M or hindustani-C. However the reason for many religions to exist in this country is its all embrasing motherly attitude which has been proven in the past. We need to understand that there is no danger from anyone talking about hinduism. Let everyone follow their respective faith but respect the indian way of life. Heartly wishes to Shri. N. Modi for his electoral victory in gujarat.

Role of Media in Democracy
by Kapil Kumar on Dec 25, 2007 12:52 AM  Permalink

BJP has won in Gujarat but media has lost. People outside Gujarat want to know how BJP has won when all print and TV media was totally against BJP. What is the role of media in democracy? It is the link of common man with outer world and its events. But media can not decide who should rule . That choice lies only with electorate. Moreover media should not be hand in gloves with any political party. Media persons will have to increase their intellectual level, they should be at much higher level than our politicians.

by urvee patel on Dec 24, 2007 07:46 PM  Permalink

As Sheelaji said that today,s media is corporate& it weilds power.so she argee's that today's media is under corporate rule.so today we should belive that media or press is fourth estate.wherein democary freedom of expression is our fundamental right. so my q is that is modi right? or media is just money making industry ?or voice of the masses? or just corporate style of propaganda?

ALAPPUZHA: A local office-bearer of RSS has been hacked to death by a group of unidentified persons at Charummood near Kayamkulam.

Vinod, a 'taluk karyavah' of RSS, died on the spot of serious injuries suffered in the attack late on Sunday night, police sources said.

Police suspect Muslim outfit NDF to be behind the attack as Vinod was an accused in a case relating to the murder of a sympathiser of that group at Charummood two years back.

The Sangh Parviar outfits are reportedly observing a day-long hartal in the area on Monday.

MODI WINS
by damodaran mohan on Dec 24, 2007 05:27 PM  Permalink

Yes, ultimately,Modi turned out to be a brilliant salesman. His Gujrati Asmita card played emotionally to the already polarized voters of the state did the trick. Of course people perceived him as a clean and no nonsense administrator. In cricketing terms , as a local player he read the Gujrat PITCH correctly and won the match with handsome margin. Furtherr, he cleverly exploited the emotional issues of the Congress campaign to his advantage. Ironically, the media also played a big part in propping up Modi to such a cult figure. But his claims on development are nothing to crow about. Modi might have delivered on development but so it has been in Gujrat under any chief minister .Even when the rest of the country was languishing till the nineties, Gujrat was in the forefront of development, thanks to the entrepreneurship of the Gujrati people. Modi has not achieved any spectacularly different results. Congress failure: On the other hand the Congress team was like a foreign team playing under unfamiliar pitch conditions and crashed to a humiliating defeat. Moral of the story : to win a state election , the Congress party must have a local team with a competent captain familiar with the pitch and local conditions. Leaders paratrooping might have worked for Nehru, Indira , Rajiv etc. whose stature were much higher and also perhaps then the LOCAL PITCHES were flatter and not this treacherous but it is certainly not going to w
