who said dude. may be u got wrong bcoz of DMK youth meeting. karuna wont contest next elections. if he is not there, DMK will become TN congress with many factions in it

Karuna anicipated the split in his party. That is the reason he slowly tries to project Stalin as his successor.

dear tamilian i agree he had anticpated the split but if he is not there or he is not contesting in next elections its a setback for DMK and moreover stalin is not that good

Dear Rajesh, The present trend is for DMK. If we are going to face election with the present trend DMK will come with clear majority. But, God only knows the future

Dear friend, I have travelled across Tamilnadu. The 1 kg rice for Rs.2/- did a magic. Even the taditional voters of double leaves changed their opinion. AIADMK's vote bank eroded. The choice is DMK. But, as I said anything may happen in future.
RE:RE:TN
by tamilan on Dec 18, 2007 06:47 PM Permalink
There is a difference. During last election it was only a promise. A considerable number of people didn't beleive it. But, it was implemented. I belong to a village from south Tamilnadu where DMK didn't have any strong hold. But, now the trend has been changed. We could read the pulse of the people.

You are right. When ADMK beat DMK before it was not expected. DMK was performing OK and it was a surprise. whatever may be karunaNidhi Tamil nadu seems to be progressing well. There is least amount of farmer's suicide compared to Karnataka, Ap and maharashtra.TN's economy is among the top 4 states( Tamil nadu maharashtra Gujarath and ?)

Dear Friend, I am from chennai and i have also travelled a lot in TN as u said that rice scheme worked out last time but even after that scheme too the % of votes of DMK was lower. But its difficult for DMK in the next elections bcoz karuna wont be contesting. DMK face is only karuna. stalin doesnt have that face like karuna with ppl
RE:TN

in the last elections From which DMK came to power the percentage of votes which they got was way lower than they got while losing elections. i dont have exact % details. There are speculations that there r few factions in DMK which will hamper its win.
RE:TN
by Nanchil on Dec 18, 2007 06:42 PM Permalink
You are just speculating. There should be some issues that can undermine DMK's victory. At present no such issues in TN.
RE:TN

you are 100% correct. TN is not like other states where the illitrates can be taken with religious card.

If even one alliance partner joins with Jayalalitha, dmk has to go for another vanavas of 14 years. Karunanishi begged - "please give me a chance; 14 year punishment is long enough." next election will certainly be interesting. Many will be happy to see karunanidhi and dmk rested for a long time.

Dude India helped LTTe in training, logistics and their freedom struggle in the intial stages. then only india took a U turn. LTTe cadres were given training in chennai and other parts of india by IB and RAW intially.

Poor inexperienced Rajeev Gandhi was misguided into sending troups to Sri Lanka by some of the yuppy guys like Jayaram Ramesh etc giving him the idea it was a chance for him to emerge as a great regional leader in Asia. he was screwed by both the cunning Sri Lanka Govt and his own pompous leaders. You can not blame Tamilians if they show sympathy for Sri Lankan tamilians. Bengalis showed great sympathy for bangla Deshis and welcomed the war to liberate Bangla Desh.We are taking bangla Desh refugees with out any objection and even welcoming them for vote.
RE:India Helped LTTE

This is the truth and even today almost half the establishment will not act against LTTE.
It is a crime to blame Sonia or any leader in particular. These decisions are taken at different levels, not by single individual or leader.
RE:India Helped LTTE
by rajesh on Dec 18, 2007 06:25 PM Permalink
yes not only LTTE Bhindrewala was also developed by Indira for her gaining power in punjab and wat happened next is history
Under congress dispensation several terrorist organisation are thriving in India. In fact, the mother of terrorists outfit in India led by Bindrenwale was created by Indira Gandhi. LTTE got some respectability due to Rajiv when he invited them for negotiation at Simla It is another fact that both of them were killed by the very same outfits.
Today we have Maosts, Ulfa, Jahedis and several terror outfit have safe stay in our country and UPA had repealed POTA. Pota might have been misused but the same is the case with several of our other laws.
Karunanidhi is a known supporter of LTTE and it well known that he has the tacit, if not direct, approval from Sonia and UPA. Jaya's appeal will go to deaf ears.

It is foolish to think that an organization that has bases and support around the world. Advised by Yale and Harvard educated lawyers. Backed by the elite in NY and London requires Karunanidhi and DMK to survive. Start thinking.
RE:karunanidhi is half dead and to even stand up he needs support of someone

next elections will tell us where TN is headed.
Hopefully without being opportunists, parties contest on their own. THen we'll know the real backing of each party.
From 1991-96 she lead a crackdown on LTTE very hard. The most affected were innocent refugees, some of who were forced out midway through their University and School. Rajiv Gandhi was used as an excuse. At that time only a section of DMK led by Vaiko were LTTE supporters.
After Jaya's actions today:
DMK, MDMK, VCK, PMK, DK, PDK, KMK and many other groups support LTTE openly or indirectly. According to Times of India survey, 69% of TN supported Karunanidhi penning a poem for Thamilchelvan.
Best thing is allow the security and intelligence agencies to do their jobs. Instead of trying to score cheap political points through Rajiv Gandhi.

LTTE lost its support in TN after Rajiv's assassination. But it is a custom in TN to praise one's good qualities and not to abuse when someone whether good or bad died.

so when LTTE chief dies in one of the air-raids your CM will praise LTTE by writing poems on the supposedly great qualities of LTTE Chief

But even if LTTE chief dies no Tamilian will jump into the street to celebrate. These kinds of barbaric events can happen only in states like Gujarat.

What is terrorist to you may not be terrorist to another. You make thing Modi is aa hero and most Tamiliansmay have a very poor opinion of him. Tamil Nadu is an important state in India and the opinion of 69% of its population cannot be ignored. When they interview people for opinion polls care is taken that this sample represents the state ( Intis ethnic relgious liguistic amd political makeup) not just DMK supporters.
